Another way I know of for data transfer is saving the data to/from the Cloud with PS+, and apparently this way is fairly quick as well if you decide to skip the data transfer during the initial setup.

Exactly what I did once I got my PS5 over a year ago. Also best to store your PS4 games on an external hard drive so you can just plug it directly into the PS5 and play them instantly.

I made the mistake of doing the data transfer over the network (wired internal, not even wifi) & it took forever. Wish I had the sense to do it directly as in your video! Great advice & yet another straight to the point, no bs post 👍
Only took me 13 hours to transfer a few games from my PS4 to my PS5 over LAN. I was kinda pissed. I could have just re-downloaded everything much faster. Lol.
I did my PS4 to PS5 over my LAN connection, I had ESO which is 97 GB Skyrim neverwinter Tera and blessed unleashed which are what 50 gigabytes a piece and then whatever small stuff I had it took 23 minutes
@@Darion350 I redownloaded everything. Only took 2 hours to download a few 100GB. Much faster than the transfer.

I used an external hard drive with my PS4, so the transition was much easier. Just plug the disk into the PS5 and I already had everything in it
So if I have a PS4 game on my external hard drive, I can just plug it into the PS5 and it'll play??

@@YoshiBoy No, since for that game you should be using the PS5 version if you have a PS5, which you will need to download since it cannot be on a PS4 (the PS5 version).

I just transfered with external HDD always kept ps4 haeddrive as empty as possible, found that helped it to run quietly

Yes, you can choose what to transfer to a certain degree, as I did more than a year ago, I dont rememberif you can choose wich game or all games only. If its only a few saves, might consider using a normal usb pen drive to transfer (I did with an old ps4 to another for a friend and its pretty much the same, just plug in the Pendrive on the ps4, go to storage, and there you can select your save files and have the option to transfer, with the triangle, if I remember).

If you use an external hard drive it will work automatically with the ps5 without need for transferring. Save information can automatically be pulled from the storage cloud. The method featured here is only necessary if you store everything directly on your ps4
My question is which system has to be on to do the transfer the ps5 or ps4 ? Because you can have 2 systems hooked up at the same time if you're using just one tv. So again why system should be on my screen doing the transfer? 🤔🤷♂️ and another question do i have to have playstation plus to transfer my games? Because i see alot if these clips and videos where people have playstation plus.

I did this immediately. However, despite the extra cost, you will want to buy a storage expansion for the PS5 as it will quickly fill up. 1 or 2 TB should be good enough. 4 TB is overkill.
I have 6tb and it's all good to have. Not easy to fill up

If you have a ps plus just move the games in an external hard drive and backup your save data in the cloud so you can save some space for your ps5 games
If I knew from the very beginning I would do the same thing but sadly I lost most of my ps4 games so I start all over again on PS5 console by using PS4 disk

This works so well. You will continue where you left off on any game you played on the ps4, but on the ps5 now.
I can’t fit all my ps4 and ps5 games on my ps5 hard drive. Is it better to get an external harddrive for the ps4 games and keep the ps5 games installed on the hard drive? Or install all my ps4 games on my ps5 hard drive and get an internal ssd for my ps5 games? I don’t know what the better option is or if there is a difference to doing either other than prices
@@hjk3351 I got a 8t wd easystore from Best Buy for about $100.00 ( on sale) ...I have a crapload of games on it and it's not even 1/2 full...u can store ps5 games on it...but you'll have to transfer them back to the ps5 to play them

@@hjk3351 they usually don't take long to transfer...unless it's a big open world game...like hfw....I have the update for re 2 and 3...the data shows up on both my console storage...and the USB extended storage... so I'm not really sure how that works...never tried to move them
if you have ps plus, personally I think it's better to put all of your save data from PS4 into the cloud and then redownload the games and save data that you want on your ps5. that way you don't have the games you don't play and capture gallery clogging your PS5's storage, and then if you decide you want to play one of your games that you didn't already download on PS5, you can just redownload your games and their save files when you want to play them

You can’t transfer everything with that though, for example nba 2k22my players

I kept my ps4 pro when I got my ps5. The only game save I wanted to transfer was horizon zero dawn so I could install the game on my ps5 to see if it unlocked a trophy that wasn’t unlocking on my ps4 pro. As it was just one game save I just copied it to an old usb I had found in a drawer. Ps5 is a good console but I couldn’t give up my ps4 pro when it works perfectly and is perfectly optimised with my TV. The only console I was willing to give up was my one x but it depreciated so much that it wasn’t worth trading in for store credit or selling, would of been virtually giving it away. That console is just used to charge my devices from its USB ports like LED lights or my ps5 controller from rest mode. True story.

Howdy John, it's my current understanding that there are features on many monitors that are beyond the capabilities PS4 PRO rendering them unusable, however, there is so much contradictory information pertaining to this issue that i'm struggling* to identify more than a couple of monitor features that are beyond the PS4 PRO's capabilities & unusable.
Even though i've looked through your playlists & didn't see any vids addressing the aforementioned unusable monitor features it's quite possible i missed any such vids....please could you point me in the right direction if you've done such a vid?

PS5 supports VRR and 120Hz displays.
