Happy Halloween! 🎃 I really hope you enjoy coming along on this. It was so much fun to go explore the bothy having seen it from afar. I love the gentleness in your voice and the kindness in your eyes. I have two little cats that crawl under my duvet with me at night. To awake to them cuddling up and purring each morning is wonderful. I hope you appreciate your dog sharing your sleeping bag. It shows great trust. Thank you for another beautifully calming video. x
Aw thank you! That's lovely, perfection (mind the pun 😅). Oh I adore how affection he is, he's the snuggliest. He's always sat on me or leaning on me, he loves that close contact.
As a born Englishman from Sunderland transplanted to America as a child, It was wonderful to see the beauty of the homeland. Very good video. Thank you.
You have the best story telling voice I’ve ever heard. So calming. I could listen to you all night. This was an amazing video. Watching from Florida. See you on the next one.
Hello Chloe, well filmed and photographed, with well-placed music. Such lovely countryside. I have slept in many a haunted hut in the mountains of NZ, but all with good vibes. Nothing more enjoyable, than to be alone in the mountains, it is good for the soul and mental health. It may sound selfish, but sometimes we just have to be alone to hear our own thoughts. Looking forward to your next trip. ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ ☺☺
Thank you. Oh not selfish at all, we all need to be able to just sit within our own energy. NZ has been on my list for the longest time, maybe someday I'll do a video out there!
If you do drop by this way, make sure that you have plenty of time. There is so much to see and do, the tramping (hiking) over here can be counted in days, even weeks not hours. I know that you would love it, it would suit your mind set. My local forest is the Tararua Range (you can Google it). This is 80 km long and 30 km wide and up to 1600 M high. May see you here one day. Cheers Mike@@FablesandFells
Another incredible video. I’m a Yorkshireman and live very close to both the Dales and Moors so are used to their moods. I’m not sure how you achieve the colours in your videos, but the make me fall in love with hills again and again. You inspire me to be more creative and spend more time outdoors. I look forward to your next adventure. God bless and good health.
You are right it is remote. We found it whilst staying at a cottage in a dead end valley and walking up past an abandoned slate mine. We go every year. However we have never seen the Red deer herd as big as that. Only the odd individuals. Wainwright recalls staying at the quarry when it was still habitable after closing in I think 1947. I bet you saw very few visitors. It is a largely undiscovered part of a sometimes crowded destination. Your photography and score as impressive as ever. Thank you. Peace.
Thank you. I've seen herds before at various times, bit never quite that big! It was really quite a sight! The sound of them calling was just such a special experience.
Another wonderful production Chloe, my season is over this year but nice to get a fix from you. You are so right to mention the bothy keepers and also those who work to preserve the areas we love to escape to whether it be this, path repair, wall/fence upkeep and a number of other maintenance jobs, we appreciate all you unsung hero's.
Fantastic. Your content has a serene almost dreamlike quality about it, i think it starts with your quiet voice then the lovely music you match with it adds a Lord of the rings quality to it, obviously with you being a fan this is deliberate and it works, the way you film, the light and your voice creates a scene almost other worldly. Your bond with Cam is beautiful. Subscribed.

I can't wait to watch the rest! Thank you for taking us along on your adventures! Sending love from Australia 💕
Simply mythical, in the best way. Campbell also said, “If you are falling....dive.” Such a pleasure to dive into another of your evocative videos. No one captures the soul of the fells as do you. I would like to believe that somewhere not far from the bothy, in some forsaken place, forgotten amid the beauty of the fells, a barrow-wight stirred and roused Cam/s keen senses...

Very enjoyable and thought provoking. Great to see your wee dog, even if he did wake you a couple of times. That’s his job, he must’ve thought it was important.
Hello Chole🌞What beautifully produced video, there is something magical about the British Isles. There is so much history and sorrow because of wars that date back centuries. I always tell my wife that if I had to pick a place to visit it would be the British Isles😉Chole being that I live in Southern California we are spoiled with avocados, there is a particular avocado you would crave after tasting one. The Reed avocado is not a common avocado because they are not as prolific as a Haas but oh the but taste😋they are only in season usually from late May to August and they get as big as softballs, they are creamy and buttery and have a high oil content, which is healthy. Hope you are feeling better and thank you so much for sharing. Take care Chole😎
Thanks as ever John! Ahh I have never heard of that avocado! That does sound amazing. I have family in California so I will have to make a trip back at some point and I'll be sure to remember to try them!
@@FablesandFells The Reeds are predominantly in San Diego area and usually at local fruit stands, some markets will have them like Whole Foods or Sprouts, but usually in San Diego. Hwy 76 is in Northern San Diego County is known as Avocado Highway. Again awesome video👏🏻👏🏻

Thanks for a brilliant video. I really enjoyed that. Such a relaxing video and the location looked amazing! I would love to try something like this one day.
I visited that property back in 1990, in the course of visiting the nearby felltops. It didn't look like it was being used as a bothy then, and it was derelict. Some people had set up a room inside with creepy occult stuff, and red paint on the wall saying Go Away - goodness knows what kind of use it was being put to. Anyway, despite not believing in such things, I felt a palpable sense of evil about the place and continued on my hike, relieved to leave it behind. A few hours later I fell ill, and it was a struggle to get off the fells. No word of a lie about any of this - I've been hiking in the fells for 40 years and nothing like that happened to me before or since.
Thank you so very much for this beautiful video. As always it is so good to see you doing well my dear friend. You are a spirit of all that is good Chloe. I love your story telling. Thank you. Also greetings to Cam and Ryan ❤
Thanks Chloe, John Miles (fell runner), mentioned you had done this video so thought we’d take a look, as it’s one of the more easy to get to bothies… not the prettiest though 😀
What a fabulous and evocative video! It's wonderful to see areas close to home being captured so beautifully, even on a wet day. I had no idea there were so many deer up there, either. I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out next time I walk that way!
Thanks Amy! There are loads of deer around that area, luckily it's quite wide open so you should get a chance of spotting them if they're about. This would be a great time of year as they'll be rutting so you may well hear them before you see them!
I just discovered your channel and enjoy your adventures so much! Where you hike and camp is so different from where I am in Ontario Canada, and you make me feel like I'm going to Middle Earth with you, which is my favourite place :) Thank you for sharing!
I've only recently been introduced to the concept of a bothy. (Cornish channel, so for a while, I thought it was a 'buffy') To my knowledge, they don't exists here in Northern California. (Probably for the best. An unexpected knife in the throat would be more likely than a pleasant night's stay.) Speaking of accents, I really like how the Lake district converts the 'ing' suffix to 'ink'. For one hallucinogenic moment, I could have sworn you were rolling tiny pigs instead of dice. (?) BTW, I steadfastly refuse to skip any of your channel-specific ads. It's the least I can do in return for you. (not to mention that even your ads are a pleasure to watch) Thanks again!
A buffy, that's funny 😄 Thankfully no vampires to slay this time. Oh yikes, yes it's very easy going and friendly in the countryside here 😅 Is that accent from a different channel? I'm not a northerner, though Ryan is. His accent is Yorkshire, which is a different to Cumbrian (Lake District). If you're looking for a couple minutes entertainment watch "Yorkshire Dialect" on UA-cam and see if you can understand it 😄 Haha yes! It's creatively called "Pigs" 😄 You roll them and score points depending on what position they land in. Aw thanks so much 😊
Love this channel. Its satisfying to see a similar way I see the Lake District basically made into film art, its always very relatable and enjoyable to watch, and I'm always getting inspiration for my next visit from you. thank you and keep up the good work! its true what Wainwright said, "those who truly love the lake district, feel like exiles when away from it" or something along those lines.
Thought it was yours nice old building with an outside privy. I remember these my grandparent had them. In winter you needed a kettle of hot water to break the ice in the toilet. Usually quite cold and no electric lights. Good video
It was really lovely to see you taking a break together and enjoying the fantastic scenery. It is a shame you don’t get to do that more often. Boggy walks can be the hardest of all, although they can look mundane the mix of bog and bracken can make the going tough depending on the water level. That looked like a moderate level though. What a great place to head up to on Halloween with a group of friends, costumes and ghost stories.
Really love the videos, thank you. I'm from the UK, now live in NZ (14 years) and our huts have plastic mattress in so no need to pack a camping mattress.
Happy Halloween! 🎃

No word of a lie about any of this - I've been hiking in the fells for 40 years and nothing like that happened to me before or since.
Your videos just keep getting better and better 😊 love the colours on the mountains this time of year ⛰️ 🍂 🍁
Ahh thank you 😊
Thank you so very much for this beautiful video. As always it is so good to see you doing well my dear friend. You are a spirit of all that is good Chloe. I love your story telling. Thank you. Also greetings to Cam and Ryan ❤
Thanks as ever Larry 😊
Thanks Chloe, John Miles (fell runner), mentioned you had done this video so thought we’d take a look, as it’s one of the more easy to get to bothies… not the prettiest though 😀
That's nice of him. Well, it's free so can't complain 😄 I really enjoyed it and it's a great facility.
Really great video. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure 👍 Mark
Thanks Mark!
.....nice ambience Chloe, remote desolate isolation highlighting a bygone era, and great quote by Joseph Campbell at 19:25.....
Thank you 😊
Thank you for this wonderful discovery. Love England's landscapes and nature... planning on going to a walking trip there.
Hope you enjoy your trip 😊
@@FablesandFells thank you 😊
Good to see you back!!
Thanks Mark!
Lovely video. I've cycled past this bothy a few times. A beautiful location.
Thanks, yes it's a great pit stop.
This would be a great time of year as they'll be rutting so you may well hear them before you see them!
that's one cozy looking fire... ty for sharing!
Thanks for watching 😊
Very Beautiful country! Cool place to camp and nice dog!
Thank you 😊
I just discovered your channel and enjoy your adventures so much! Where you hike and camp is so different from where I am in Ontario Canada, and you make me feel like I'm going to Middle Earth with you, which is my favourite place :) Thank you for sharing!
Ahh that's lovely to hear, thank you, Middle Earth is my favourite too haha. Glad to take you along 😊
The music when you entered the Bothy I was like what is this Michael Myers birthplace!
😂 I watch it recently and that was my inspo 😄
@@FablesandFells 🤣🤣
Lovely video as usual, and that's a bloody big bothy compared to the ones we usually get up north ;)
Haha right, there's so much room! The other bothies in the lakes are your usual one small room.
@@FablesandFells That's good. At least us lot north of the border won't have to feel inferior about the size of our bothies ;)
I've only recently been introduced to the concept of a bothy.
(Cornish channel, so for a while, I thought it was a 'buffy')
To my knowledge, they don't exists here in Northern California.
(Probably for the best. An unexpected knife in the throat would be more likely than a pleasant night's stay.)
Speaking of accents, I really like how the Lake district converts the 'ing' suffix to 'ink'.
For one hallucinogenic moment, I could have sworn you were rolling tiny pigs instead of dice. (?)
BTW, I steadfastly refuse to skip any of your channel-specific ads. It's the least I can do in return for you.
(not to mention that even your ads are a pleasure to watch)
Thanks again!
A buffy, that's funny 😄 Thankfully no vampires to slay this time.
Oh yikes, yes it's very easy going and friendly in the countryside here 😅
Is that accent from a different channel? I'm not a northerner, though Ryan is. His accent is Yorkshire, which is a different to Cumbrian (Lake District). If you're looking for a couple minutes entertainment watch "Yorkshire Dialect" on UA-cam and see if you can understand it 😄
Haha yes! It's creatively called "Pigs" 😄 You roll them and score points depending on what position they land in.
Aw thanks so much 😊
Super cool video there's some nice scenery in those areas you was in
Thanks Matt 👍
Love this channel. Its satisfying to see a similar way I see the Lake District basically made into film art, its always very relatable and enjoyable to watch, and I'm always getting inspiration for my next visit from you. thank you and keep up the good work! its true what Wainwright said, "those who truly love the lake district, feel like exiles when away from it" or something along those lines.
Aw thank you Dave! I'm so glad it gives you some food for thought for your future trips 😊
Thanks to your beautifully shot videos I'm now listening to Bonnie Grace.
Ahh nice, I will be making a playlist 🙏
Impressive photography and educational content…as always.
Thanks Terry 🙏
Thought it was yours nice old building with an outside privy. I remember these my grandparent had them.
In winter you needed a kettle of hot water to break the ice in the toilet.
Usually quite cold and no electric lights. Good video
Ahh sadly not! It is the dream to have a cottage of my own.
Thanks Stephen. Yes, it wasn't bad going. We've had much worse 😅
Great video and lovely countryside. Thank you
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
Wonderful cinematography and music. Very Tolkien (just with fewer orcs!)
Thank you. Haha thankfully yes 😄
Really excellent. Loved the reading.
Thank you 😊
Lovely. Some fab camera work there 👏👏👏
Thanks Richard!
There used to be LEATHER ARMCHAIRS at Mosedale Bothy - standards are slipping!
Yes it's a shame they didn't last!
Great little place. Looks like you three had a great adventure.
Yes loved it thanks 😊
Your videos are SO WELL DONE! Love them!
Thanks so much 😊
Another beautiful video. Thank you.
Thanks Thomas 😊
Really love the videos, thank you. I'm from the UK, now live in NZ (14 years) and our huts have plastic mattress in so no need to pack a camping mattress.
Thanks Ursula 😊 Ahh that's handy!
Great video. Your sleeping bags look great
Another stunning video ABSOLUTELY beautiful
Thank you Colin!
Awesome video. Liking your sleeping bags.
Another absolutely stunning video Chloe.
Thanks
Thank you 😊
