- The 2024 Sun n Fun event day 1 and I was privileged to to interview Lewis Dix of LEWDIX AVIATION, Rick Davies of PPGgorilla fame as well as Larry and Amy Mednick who are flying mega stars in the US. I was completely shocked at the sheer scale of the airshow and it hosts 200,000 people.
I tried to capture the people of the event as the main line was just to far away and too big for my cameras to do it justice.

Really glad you had Amy & Larry’s impressions of the Nine. I’m also very disappointed I was unable to make it down there to meet you, Giles,. I am looking forward to the rest of your vlogs from Fun ‘n Sun. It has grown tremendously from the last time I attended!

Hi Lee, I was genuinely surprised how much he liked it. It's a different type of aircraft to the ones he sells and I think it fits a different market as well.

Hi Lee, even on the last day people were surprised how well it performed for a FAR103 aircraft.
Sat here quietly chuckling away at watching you attending one of these shows for the first time and trying to describe what is going on...trust me mate, its just 'plane' sensory overload and you won't get over it 🙂
It's a small world and the scale Mustangs you filmed, the one painted as Thunderbird is my good fiend Gary Henry's and the Pilot Makers that make up the Titan Aviation Fuels display team (Ex Aeroshell) in the overhead drowning you out, one of those is my long time friend Mark Henley and I've flown with him in the Bombers since 2013
There is one thing about these events, each new day makes the previous one seem tame...and this is a small event with around 200K through the gates. We need to get you to Osh...690K through the gates last year and is an entirely off the charts experience !
Get yourself there and we'll have along overdue catch up while grinning like the village idiots :-)

That was some very impressive flying you did in the demos. A few of those days were pretty darn windy. I have to say you’ve really peaked my interest in the microlight trikes, especially the 9 light. I just fell in love when I saw the Cosmos on there. That was a great first impression from Larry Mednick as well. Great to meet you in person and hopefully we can do it again someday soon.
Hi Rick, thank you for you kind words, the world is very small now and I'm sure I'll be back. I can see why so many people go back year on year. I felt it was a really privilege to be asked to demo the NiNE and show something close to it's limits but these flexwings (weight shift/delta wings) have taken my flying to a whole other level. The NiNE especially. That cosmos is so smooth..standby the EFI version. You're also in video 2 out tomorrow.

Awesome 'Toy Ground'. we will never see this in the UK. Nearest for us is RIAT at RAF Fairford, but for much larger aircrafts. Maybe good old Popham :-)

Hi Patrick, the Evo trikes are solid but I think there are 2 different markets as well. It was great to hear how complimentary Larry and Amy are of the NiNE.

For sure, that's why I hope they make something for the smaller lighter market, Larrys engineering skills are great, and a smaller lighter version of the Rev would be nice, cheaper wouldn't be frowned upon either 😁🤞

I was there, great show, wait till you get to Oshkosh (the promised land).......
It certainly was a great show. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend Oshkosh. One year, but for the time being, Sun n Fun was the show I've been to.
Yet another great video, I have two seats trikes, gyros, sports planes ready for you if you ever want to come to the land down under. 5 star accommodation (tent under the stars), we have one big aviation show once a year great opportunity to show case the 9.

@@GolfFoxtrot22 the 9 would come under the motorised hang glider which is a licensed aircraft as long as it’s under 70 kg with rescue system.

Then it would come under a microlight licence. Just means you would have to do your BFR every two years, I suppose that the same in the uk.

Yep, it's about right, although say that, it was windy for a large proportion of SnF with a Tornado warning on the Thursday.
