    This current crew has made me so happy. Katelynn, Colby, Jake, Kaulin and Rhett.... I feel like even with the departures over the years, this is the concrete foundation that may pave the way forward for MORR! Now Katelynn is young, she has the highest chance of departure. Colby seems so much at home that I would be the most devastated to see him leave. Jake with his quirkiness and prior mechanical background might not ever leave, and I approve of that! The kids are young and still growing, who knows what their endeavors might bring, but for now, they seem wholly committed. If I were Matt, I would go to bed happy and smiling every night at this level of success.
    I can't wait to see the future of MORR after being a fan for the last several years. Tack on that video from a week or two ago where the "B Team" did a full gnarly recovery on their own... I hope this channel lives forever

    Pinion pine has more BTU's per cord than nearly all firewoods (except Osage)
    Pinion pitch is antibacterial. It can temporarily fill a tooth cavity or be used as emergency first aid for cuts and blisters etc. It's also high in vitamin C. Also makes a great soldering flux that smells great.

      Pinyon pine is a slow growing hardwood that has much higher BTU's than other Pine trees. For example Ponderosa pine is a soft wood and is great for kindling but not much else.
      Soft wood burns too fast , the higher the wood density usually the more efficient the BTUs.

    • @bripslag
      @bripslag 2 місяці тому +8

      @@kevinjohnston1957 I can tell you've never burned piñon pine before. When it comes to burning, it's completely different than other pine species. Although it's not technically a hardwood, it is indeed a hard, dense, long-burning wood that puts out a lot of BTUs. It also smells great when it burns. Living in northern and central New Mexico, one of my favorite Christmas aromas is all the piñon pine smoke from people's fireplaces.

Stop with the tug-o-war already! 6:40 Wrap the synthetic rope tightly in a figure 8 around the end posts of the fairlead and bump the winch in reverse a couple of times. For Matt. Those pine trees have great fire starters that can be doused and reused. Dig out the little broken off branch stubs and clean off the dead wood and you finish up with a little oily chunky stick. Store in a container and can be lit by a flint striker. Start your fire and then retrieve your fire lighter and extinguish. Those particular pine trees are very high in turpentine.

    Here's an idea for Team MORR! Since everyone there is so imaginative and creative and "handy with a welder", why not design some pedestal type seats that when erected, provide for a scenic view over the top of The OffRoad wrecker?? Design them to be set up (right behind the cab) and folded/stowed in place when not needed. This would eliminate having to ride on the rear of the boom holding on for dear life! Right Matt?? LOL!

    It happens very often that you got folks on the back.

    • @beansinacan500
      @beansinacan500 2 місяці тому +4

      It's the shutter speed of that camera and the hertz(hz) of the LED lights. Led lights aren't constantly on, they flash or pulse very very fast to produce light unlike incandescent lights which make illumination differently

      @@beansinacan500 Thanks for the info! I'd wondered about something along those lines - obviously, we've all seen lights that seem to flicker on camera (but not IRL). But I'd never seen a variant like what was in this video.

      @@russelllewis9215This wasn't a camera issue and those aren't LED lights. Most likely the daytime running light circuit on that truck has an open.

    • @beansinacan500
      @beansinacan500 2 місяці тому

      @@mediocreman2 whatever you say pal. No other type of bulb acts that way on camera. And seeing it be a early 4th gen ram, the factory bulbs would have been halogen or incandescent, which don't turn off and on rapidly to produce light in an automotive application like an aftermarket LED light would. It's called the strobe effect and occurs when the shutter speed of a camera does not match the frequency of which the light is flickering, therefore producing a flashing, scanning or flickering effect on video. 👍

    The pine nuts sold in stores are usually Italian Stone Pine. What Matt and crew are eating look to be Pinyon Pine, a small pine native to the US southwest and generally not commercially available, although sometimes locals may collect and sell them. They were an important resource for native people from California east across the US southwest.

Could you strap your cell to the drone fly it high enough to get cell reception and then connect with your wireless headphones and using voice commands make a rescue call to Matt's off road or 911? Instead of hoofing it to the top of a mountain?
