@Kensthetic your skin is beautiful I hope to look like yours! You don't have active acne, what are your thoughts on this product for people with old dark scars and active acne?

Clear Start by Dermalogica Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel.
It contains BHA (salicylic acid) which helps with active break out’s and congestion. But it also contains exfoliating acids such as Mandelic, Lactic Acid, and Azelaic Acid (great for skin of color). That helps with post acne marks.
This is a good option if you wanted to have a similar product such as a peel. If you do not have a preference on rather it is an exfoliating toner, treatment product, or serum there are a lot of other products. Or just look for products with similar ingredients as I mention aboved. I just wanted to help as I saw your question unanswered.

Did you used their vitamin C along with the spot treatment?

I was looking at this product last night. It contains exfoliating acids such as Mandelic Acid (great for skin of color), Gluconolactone (great), Tranexamic Acid (great), and Glycolic Acid (which is not good for skin of color, especially in higher percentages). While Glycolic Acid can provide immediate results for dark spots, it can also lead to rebound hyperpigmentation later on.
Upon reviewing the other ingredients in this product, I found that it has some really irritating components. Dermalogica, the brand of this product, uses a lot of irritating ingredients, however; they have partnerships with many esthetician schools where they promote their products. Not to mention their high prices. It's important to carefully read the ingredient list. So sorry.
    -A better option would be.
Dermalogica Clear Start Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel (in the purple bottle) for $29.50 at Ulta.
