      The grit just sucks for dryer skin. Therefore I'm not fond of it AT ALL LOL. BUT THERES NOT MUCH IN DERMALOGICA TO CHOOSE FROM. The new milkfoliant is food for dry skin but not enough grit 😭😅 there are other exfoliants in other brands I love like control corrective, but when prescribing to my clients daily microfoliant is what I prescribe a lot of them .

    "You have to sweep the floor before you mop it" that is such a perfect way to describe double cleansing! As an esthetician too - LOVE the pre-cleanse and calm water gel. I'm mixed on the age bright clearing serum because it smells so strong and awful. What are your thoughts on the milkfoliant? I like that it is oat-based and marketed towards more sensitive skin!

    Can I use the pre cleanse, a cleanser, the daily exfoliant, toner, hyaluronic acid serum, Niacinamide, eye cream and moisturizer as a daily routine or would that be too harsh?

    • @Sophie_theesthetician
      @Sophie_theesthetician  3 місяці тому

      Hi! Which niacinamide are you referring to? Is it the professional use ionactive? If so it’s 100% not for daily home use. And please don’t purchase the professional products from 3rd party sellers because they might not be authentic.
      In theory the rest of that routine is not too harsh but I would need to evaluate your skin to know if it’s right for you!

    • @Sophie_theesthetician
      @Sophie_theesthetician  7 місяців тому

      The right amount and type of cleansing will not remove ALL your natural serum- just the excess on the surface. It all depends on your skin type and condition. I recommend using a serum and/or moisturizer after cleansing. It can still be good to use Precleanse even if you don’t wear makeup. Dermalogica recommends it for everyone for removing surface and oil based debris, but I wouldn’t make it your first priority if you don’t have a solid cleansing + moisturizing routine already.

    • @Sophie_theesthetician
      @Sophie_theesthetician  Рік тому +1

      No it should not. It’s good for oily skin because it has oil loving and water loving properties, meaning it’ll grab oils but also rinse off clean with water. Then you should follow up with a water based cleanser anyway, so that should remove any residue.

I'm also not sure where to use it routine wise. Last night I did my Oil Cleanser on just certain areas, cleaned off those twos areas, used the Microfoliant on those spots after I patted dry unless damp is ok, and followed up with my moisturizer.
