Hi! 😇 I’m a student esthetician and we had a Dermalogica Expert do a Pro Power Peel workshop today so I can help shed some light! So with the peels, you can apply up to 5 layers. You can either mix the peels together to better fit your clients concerns or layer them. Ex: 2 layers of the ultra bright then 2 layers of the advanced renewal. They also color code certain products for certain skin care needs. The ones without a color strip could be for daily use. The light blue is for sensitive skin. The maroon color is for anti-aging. The greenish yellow is for acneic skin. (These are the colors I remember off the top of my head 🤣) Hope this helps!😇
My esthetics program also used dermalogica and when we did peels none of the clients actually had any skin peel. I love the redness relief it gives an instant OMG result. Also from the adult acne line the age bright spot fader, clearing skin wash, retinol clearing oil, and professional purifying masque & exfoliant are really really amazing cleared my maskne with only two treatments.
Dermalogica does have set systems like Image that help you determine which products to use for certain skin concerns. Daily Health: clients with normal skin and who just need help with maintenance. AGE Smart: Our mature clients. Ultra Calming: our clients with sensitive or sensitized skin. Clear Start: Our teen clients suffering with acne. PowerBright TRX: our clients with hyperpigmentation. And lastly the Active Clearing: our clients with adult acne. A new esthetician using Dermalogica can use each line with no prior knowledge to tackle the skin concern.
I saw you using a lot of image products so I was more leaning towards that and finally ordered big order for my studio at home! Hopefully I will like it!
Most of the what they are pushing now ie double cleansing using oil, AHA peels and SPF.. Dermologica were doing this I'd say at least 10 years ago. Products are potent and very effective. Downside however is the price
This really helps as I am planning to open in a suite by the end of the year!!! Other brands to review: Glymed, Eminence, Elemis, Skin Script, Image, Aveda
Don’t go Aveda. You’ll only have 2 or 3 facials you can do. They have nothing for acne and aging. Nothing that works, anyway. I spent 5 years at an Aveda salon. Smells nice. Love the hair products. I wouldn’t take their entire product line for free. Unless I were just to resell it. I would never put that in my treatment room. The other stuff you’re talking about is a whole different level than Aveda! Stick to something else LOL
I’m currently an esthetician student and we strictly are only allowed to use this brand. Truthfully, I want to try other brands just because I feel like dermalogica has been more open to the public now as it is now sold in stores like ulta and target. I don’t wanna offer something that someone can get themselves in the store bc what’s the point of them coming to me? What do you suggest ?
Hi! We use dermalogica at school as well but i just wanted to reply to your “what’s the point” question because it’s actually a really great question. There is an actual point. The things that you can get as a professional your client does not have access to those products. Dermalogica does have a retail line and it’s supposed to assist your facials on your clients because of course their home regimen is super important. The professional products offer more immediate results as well. I personally have been loving dermalogica and i was worried about it was well but when you get to know the product knowledge you’ll find that your back bar has way more products to offer than what clients can buy themselves.
@@ivettef7755 @Peresauma Luafau which is good because clients need those products to maintaining their skin in between services which is why they're for retail. Imagine getting a facial with a Dermologica professional and not having access to their products at home for maintenance. It would defeat the purpose of the facial you just got. The pro products are what clients come to estheticians for.
We had dermalogica at our school too. I personally loved their products. To answer your question about mixing your peels I remember the rep at our school said not to mix them or layer them. You would basically see which part of the clients face needs let’s say the acne peel and your apply that peel in that area and let’s say they have pigmentation on the cheeks you would do the peel for pigmentation in that area. Great video!!
Oh man! I can’t believe your rep was so off-putting. The rep for my school is super sweet and very open to questions. She was dropping by the school all the time. And our instructor did mention that she was always reaching out. But that’s with a pro account. If I get a cold reception when I go to Dermalogica for schamples I’m going to be annoyed an I will update! Thanks for this vid! Great stuffs. 😊😊
With the dermalogia daily exfoliant can be used for maintenance on normal skin, yet you can mix it with the multivitamin (yellow drop) only need (1/2 )of it for one person n it has to be used same day if you gonna use the other half , also with the accelerator 35 (3/4 )to make it stronger , my school was partnered so we learn to customize based on the client needs, Their “ The book” has it shown to how acidic the exfoliant can be with which products. I do agree that’s it’s everywhere , out there, but me I never seen it till I went to school n now I see it all the time lol.
I agree about the sellout!!! I am Dermalogica trained- but like you, we just had the basics in school. I am a bit frustrated as I am a licensed esthetician with my own business and in order to get a lot of the pro products (like the peels,) you have to have a business account- lots of $$$$ ☹️ Great review! I subscribed!
I’m not sure if this has been answered but they want to see photos of the inside and outside of the treatment room to be sure you are not working from home and you have as physical location. If you don’t have a physical location they will not approve your pro account.
I do use Dermalogica in my treatment room. Personally I do love their professional products and I would say the professional products prices are just about the same as image and most other skin care lines. Thank you for doing this review 🙌🏻 Also I do struggle with the communication. It was very hard for me to get them to understand that it is more safe and convenient for them to send to my home. They gave me a hard time for that but finally I do get my stuff shipped to my home. In my area I’m not there every day so getting things delivered is very difficult. So that is a little frustrating. Also I find no good use in there “business consultants” not so helpful. But other than that I love that I can I’ll place my own orders and get it delivered to my house ✨
@@EarthToKiki thank you for replying! Would that be like 50% off? It’s less expensive then getting it on salon centric, right? I’m saving up money bc I know the opening order is like $1,000? Do you pick what you need or they give you a certain opening package? Because I already have the peels. 😬
You can purchase some on the items from salon centric if you have an account with them. Thank you for sharing all of your experiences with multiple products and lines!! I’ll be sad when I finally catch up on all your videos but so thankful for the knowledge
The reason they want a photo of your studio: I was told the photo was needed to ensure I was working IN a studio, like a legit business. I still have not pulled the trigger on the business account. I think the minimum is now $1800.
I just opened my account w/them a few months ago & it’s still 1K but you have to equal 30/70 30% retail & 70% pro which is hard to do without going over budget my total ended up being about 1,300. But im extremely happy with my order.
hello all, I'm an esthetician at massage heights part time. we do a lot of pro peels and with their chemical peels they encourage the client to get them every 4-6 weeks to see better results and as the client gets more comfortable you layer them on more and it makes the pro peel more powerful. you are also able to spot treat with their pro peels to really make it a custom experience. as far as their products are concerned I actually really enjoy their products. if you consistently use it, your skin will really transform I've seen it. as a solo esthe I don't mind that they sell their products in store because I don't have space to sell retail just yet so I don't mind sending my client to the store to get products.
They should have everything. Just bring colorful pens for notes and a phone charger. It’s great to record demos! And if you’re the one taking videos you will also make fast friends as they will want you to send it to them. Don’t fall victim to cattiness. Just be positive and ready to learn and be as professional as possible! And CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF! You won’t know how to do that at first so ask. Don’t be scared to be a bit annoying and ask where everything is and what your responsibilities are. Offer to help as often as you can. You will love it! I made lifelong friends including my instructor and we all go out. We’re empowering each other’s careers now! Congratulations on starting school!! 🤩
I definitely agree with D Cooper. I would bring pens or pencils, highlighters, a bag for your things, a small hygiene kit (we've learned that it's a good idea to do so both in school and the field), and any other supplies you need for good note taking. Congrats on starting school! I started a few months ago, and my best advice for you is to be confident. 😊
I got the dermatological peel done at hands and stone hut they didn’t have a home kit to take with me instead they make buy the calming gel ,spf and moisturizer , PCA peel at massage envy is the opposite they give you a small kit to take home . So let’s see how this peels goes if not I’ll go back to massage envy
They do have a clear line the aging and they have clear they have a bright line I think you should take the classes you won't truly learn until you take the classes

Dermalogica has amazing education, you can take classes in person or via zoom. I work at a spa that has derm products, I love it personally
Are the classes free once you have a pro account?

Can you do a video of your go to all black fits for esty’s ? I’m in school and struggling to put all black outfits together !
Dermalogica reminds me of Jan Marini and control corrective. Can we get a comparison
the reason representatives want pics of your space is to see where they can set up the retail products for your clients to purchase
Also, when wanting to try a new brand is there a way to get samples instead of the whole kit?
Hey gorgeous!! Love the content! Where is your black top wrap from??? 🤩🤩🤩
Welcome to Dermalogica family 🤗
Hey I'm a dermatological expert and you don't really peel which I love and once someone's skin can take it you can do them every 2-3 weeks
Would love a Lira peels review

Have you ever tried dermodality products? Besides the signature pumpkin peel 🥰💖?
What scrubs do you use and would you suggest having your name and esthetician printed under it embroidered on scrub tops? as in: Mercedes
Esthetician
Eminence ask me for pictures of my studio too and ask if I have a big space for retail
I was told its for additional proof of business. That part was annoying for me.
