They had such a tormented love story, Stevie and Lindsey. I saw them " Fleetwood Mac" probably 4 times. The first time with Joe Walsh pre Stevie and Lindsey. Every concert was mesmerizing. Watching Mick Fleetwood play drums such a delight. No one enjoys playing drums more than Mick. Great reaction Zoe and Shawn.
Zoe will wind up loving live albums as an adult. And there are some great ones. She just hasn’t lived long enough to feel the power of this song and performance.
I immediately thought of introducing Zoey to Stevie's solo work with the Live take of "Edge of Seventeen" from 1981 where she collects an armful of flowers from fans as the band is finishing the number up & playing the songs outro , but I'm pretty sure Zoey will probably notice & love that Stevie gets a Snoopy doll along with the flowery tributes 🙂
If Zoe doesn't like live music, you're going to save a bunch of money not buying concert tickets😃. When I was her age I didn't like live recordings as much as studio versions either. I think I was enamored by the clarity and complexity a studio mix, and unaware of the skills needed to perform live.
Yes! Fleetwood Mac! When I got the notification (because I hit the notification bell! 😁) I was anxious to see this one! SUCH an intense performance! Thank you for doing this incredible song! 😀
Christine McVie was passed over too much. She was an amazing vocalist… check out Songbird. Beautiful song by a beautiful lady. And yes, Lindsay has done some great solo albums .
Now that's a good 'girl dad'; not only contributing to her musical education, but also to her emotional education (EQ) as well, something often overlooked these days! 😉 And who knows, perhaps with more exposure to great artists, she may come to appreciate live performances over those highly produced music videos etc.
Zoey has a very legitimate opinion, especially when you're talking about songs that you've never heard before, 99% of the time the official studio recorded version is absolutely the way to go, normally there has been countless hours put into the presentation of the audio AND the visual that nothing else can compare to. And THEN you can check it out later to see how the artist does it live in concert if you're curious. BUT, then there are those rare occasions where the live version is actually superior or special enough in some way to warrant watching the live version first, and THIS video of Stevie and Lindsey burning holes into each other's eyes as they sing this song staring each other down is one of those prime examples of why you would watch the live version first. So, yes Zoey, you are right, and at the same time, your dad is not wrong. There will be a lot of times in your life where that will be the case. 😀 Cheers!
Stevie Nicks just put out some new music that she performed live on SNL last week... along with her classic, "Edge of Seventeen". She's been touring all summer.
there are just some songs you need to watch/listen to live. this is one of them. the Rumours album is one of the greatest albums ever made to the point this song didn't make the original record when it was released.
Shawn...don't sleep on Lindsey Buckingham's solo stuff!! He had a few hit songs, but never reached the huge solo career that Stevie Nicks achieved...but not because of lack of quality! A few suggestions: Trouble, Go Insane, I Must Go, Holiday Road, Countdown, Turn It On, You Do Or You Don't, I Am Waiting, Cast Away Dreams, Did You Miss Me, Love Runs Deeper, The Right Place To Fade, Rock Away Blind, Gone Too Far, On The Wrong Side, I Don't Mind. This is a chronological list from releases from 1981 to 2021.
Loved Fleetwood Mac and this track is no exception. Love you two reacting to songs. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, Shawn. Zoey you are a breath of fresh air, and such a confident young woman. Keep up the good work. Blessings all.
Landslide is a great one, again featuring Stevie Nicks. The version from this concert ("The Dance") is very emotional, since she dedicated it to her dad.
👋🏻 Zoey! You have alot of great music to look forward to 😊! Stevie Nicks is the only female two time rock and roll hall of fame inductee. Listen to Rhiannon👍.
Okay Daddio Shawn, everyone has been, pardon the pun, singing, the praises of the lovely Zoey (same as you know I have in the recent past) but this time I'm throwing some love your way, Big Dipper! When you told her you would soon hand over the reins to her and this reaction show, the cute little Zoey wanted no part of that. She likes her papa. Good on YOU! ;)
"Go Your Own Way" was probably one of the biggest hits and another Stevie and Lindsey breakup song. There were lots of problems with this band internally, but they all knew that musically they were magic and put everything aside to make that music. John McVie (Bass player) and Christine had been divorced for years before this concert, but they knew how special this group really was.
Hey Shawn - I think I've found a British band that NOBODY on UA-cam has ever reacted to! It's a band called AMAZULU & they had some great songs, all in the nu-reggae or calypso kind of grooves - a sorely overlooked band! Hits include: Too good to be forgotten, Excitable, All Over The World, Moonlight Romance, Cairo, Montego Bay... Go on, I dare you to be the first!!! :-)
Shawn, Zoe, Zoey? good reaction. The theme to the 'Vacation' movies " Holiday road"is sung by Lindsay Buckingham. Arnold Schwartznegger was in a movie ' The Running man' (80's?) Mick Fleetwood is in movie and Frank Zappa's son Dweezil. suggest:..."Only the young" by Journey....."I wish you were there" by Reo Speedwagon...."Sunshine" by Nazereth...... "What I am" by Edie Brickell
Good on you for being honest. I'm not a big fan of live recordings either, but this performance was such a big deal because, like another huge band The Eagles that did a similar show, fans thought they would never get over the drama and be an active band again. On Landslide from this same show Lindsey and Stevie look at each other for a moment with an affection that made it seem like all the problems of the past had been worked through. They stayed together as a band for a while after that but in recent years the drama came back. This was a recorded but not released track from the Rumors recording sessions. It's inclusion was vetoed by Lindsey for one of his songs. I think "Never Going Back Again" if I remember the interview right. Don't blame him since this song was of a man cheating on a woman but in their real relationship she cheated on him just before or during the recordings.
keep at it-for now Ihave a 15 yr old - got her off of rap-new favorite bands are Boston, Fleetwood, Metallica, Alice In Chains.... Journey...Rush..... I just keep it on in the car and at home IT WORKS...... they find actual MUSIC....It took years...... but I did it!!!!!!! @ ¿ e Don't give up!!!!!!!
You both need to check out The Muppets, the dummer , Animal, is based on Mick Fleetwood. You will get a laugh Check out Lindsey Buckinghams song Trouble, you will like it Also, react to Fleetwood Mac live performance of Say Goodbye , basically the reply to this song
Well it's good the little one has strong opinions, even if they are misplaced or misguided. How does she think songs are recorded in the studio, by magic? Duh, they use microphones and the mic is inches from the face there too. Regarding cuts in live videos, does she believe there are no cuts or zooms, pans or fades in a music video? (there are) And does she realize that in a music video the artists are faking playing and singing, while the studio version of the audio is played? Her positions are not sensible, but if music videos are what floats her boat, try these three from Fleetwood Mac: ua-cam.com/video/9b4F_ppjnKU/v-deo.html ( Fleetwood Mac - Seven Wonders (Official Music Video) ) ua-cam.com/video/uCGD9dT12C0/v-deo.html ( Fleetwood Mac - Little Lies (Official Music Video) ) ua-cam.com/video/ROGEHq1WZqU/v-deo.html ( Fleetwood Mac - As Long As You Follow (Official Music Video) ) the last two above are Christine, and in fact she had as many or more hits than Stevie and Lindsey combined. The band is unique in that it had 3 lead singers and 3 composers.
She's just too young/immature to appreciate what she saw and heard. When she's an adult she will have a better understanding of those kind of feelings at some point (more than likely). Almost no one gets through life without a heartbreak, unfortunately.
I'm don't know what I think of this little girl. At least you don't ever have to take her to a concert since she complains so much about people reacting. I personally think she does NOT understand this song at all -- she's too young!
Probably not the good choice for her first “live “. I know you’re trying Dad….. But maybe something more upbeat, relatable or her age…. Just a suggestion…… I’m in the middle of it myself……I went full out quickly… where they couldn’t look away…. Alice In Chains live….. they may not like it….. but will watch….. “Would” and “Rooster” now, seeing the princess doesn’t like live- have her watch the video of “Rooster”…. My 13 year old is a solid AIC fan……No voice can touch Layne
Actually, before I unsubscribe- throw her 1981 Journey live….. if she doesn’t dig that…. You have no hope….. That’s all I had to do when my beauty was 13. All it took…….Silver Springs may have been a bit boring for her first live……. I would throw her Journey live 81 “Who’s Crying Now”- pretty moving- that’s when my little snotty one winched……. And went “what?” Is this????
Agreed….. keep at it-for now I have a 15 yr old - got her off of rap- new favorite bands are Boston, Fleetwood, Metallica, Alice In Chains….. Journey…Rush…… I just keep it on in the car and at home……… IT WORKS…… they find actual MUSIC…..It took years…… but I did it!!!!!!!👊✌️🤘🤘 Don’t give up!!!!!!!
Live shows are much better in most cases. However this separates good bands from bad bands. If you can't reproduce you studio version on stage that's not good.
She's a keeper! I love young folks that have a personality that shines through.
I love that you picked up on the drummer! He is always overlooked, but is such a huge part of the band's sound and persona. Good eye!
This gives me goosebumps every time
They had such a tormented love story, Stevie and Lindsey. I saw them " Fleetwood Mac" probably 4 times. The first time with Joe Walsh pre Stevie and Lindsey. Every concert was mesmerizing. Zoe will wind up loving live albums as an adult. And there are some great ones. She just hasn’t lived long enough to feel the power of this song and performance.
Also, she would gain appreciation for these live performances by attending some great live shows.
Shawn I share your appreciation for this song and this performance.
Christine McVie was passed over too much. She was an amazing vocalist… check out Songbird. Beautiful song by a beautiful lady.
They were all insanely talented.
Zoey is sooo cute and good in front of the camera as such.
Absolutely!
It's a deep song. And first time hearing it. Thanks for putting this up.
Very powerful song. The pain and anger are so up front , it hurts to watch.
Mick Fleetwood, the drummer, is a real showman! One of my favorite songs of theirs is Christine's "Songbird", solo on piano.
That was a great reaction .
Zoey you have a very charming personality!!😎👍
If Zoe doesn't like live music, you're going to save a bunch of money not buying concert tickets😃. When I was her age I didn't like live recordings as much as studio versions either. I think I was enamored by the clarity and complexity a studio mix, and unaware of the skills needed to perform live.
Yes! Fleetwood Mac! When I got the notification (because I hit the notification bell! 😁) I was anxious to see this one! SUCH an intense performance! Thank you for doing this incredible song! 😀
Stevie Nicks wrote a lot of their biggest hits.
Christine McVie was passed over too much. She was an amazing vocalist… check out Songbird. Beautiful song by a beautiful lady.
And yes, Lindsay has done some great solo albums .
I agree! I love her voice & Songbird is beautiful!
i think once she actually goes to a live performance she'll change her mind 💜
Now that's a good 'girl dad'; not only contributing to her musical education, but also to her emotional education (EQ) as well, something often overlooked these days! 😉 And who knows, perhaps with more exposure to great artists, she may come to appreciate live performances over those highly produced music videos etc.
Good song. And what a story behind it.
Zoey has a very legitimate opinion, especially when you're talking about songs that you've never heard before, 99% of the time the official studio recorded version is absolutely the way to go, normally there has been countless hours put into the presentation of the audio AND the visual that nothing else can compare to. The chain, landslide, you make loving fun, go your own way

You can just watch Zoey absorb the song!! Incredible!!💜💜🎶🎼🎵🎸🎙🎹🥁🎧🎤🤘🤘

besides landslide, probley one of Stevie's best songs that cuts deep to the heart of the matter. such a unique and beautiful talent.
The drummer is Mick Fleetwood and John McVie the bassists are the band's namesake.
😊😊😊😊

Your daughter looks kinda like Ariana Grande when she was young.

The band was such a mess during that album but they made great music out of it
