Not that 375K isn't a strong following, but this is one of those channels where it seems underappreciated. Every video from SEA is good. The quality is consistent, each topic or explanation is well done and without dumbing down a thing. I actually felt smart a few times.
I really love your space content. You have a really good voice for this type of content. I love how much effort you put into research and editing the videos. Keep up the amazing work SEA(1997).
Yeah and even the bg music seems to flow along soothingly with the voice. These videos really are things of beauty. Cool Worlds is some British astrophysist who somehow seems to get into a similar dimension.
I want to second this. I don't exaggerate what I say I think SEA's video on pulsars is my all-time favorite video. I have it saved and watch it at least twice a week. But I've devoured all his space content I'm always eagerly awaiting more. The information is enthralling, as I'm an astronomy buff, but SEA is a genius when it comes to editing and creating atmosphere.
OMG !! A VIDEO FROM SEA !! I NEED THIS !! I don't know how to tell you how wonderful this is , to learn all this about the universe !! I'm almost "70" now and didn't learn any of this in the schools of the "50s and 60s " and this was just not available for me to be exposed to !! I love this channel , Thanks !
That's awesome that you've taken an interest in our greater universal surroundings. If there is anything that can keep us humble while also showing how special we are the way the universe does, I haven't found it. Have a great day!

You have reignited my love and passion for astronomy… There’s just nothing quite as fascinating, mysterious, and even outright terrifying as our cosmos… Thanks for the content!
Propably one of the very best sites i've ever discovered. As a night truck driver, appriciate stuff that are so fascinating and scary that will keep you conscious whole night.
I remember training on Pohakuloa Training Area on the Big Island of Hawaii. We would sit, after firing was done for the night and look up at the night sky with our night vision equipment. I was lucky enough to have a 2x power night vision scope for my rifle. I would take it off of the rifle and we would pass it around, looking at all of the planets, stars, galaxies, satellites and nebula that we could spot. It was really amazing. Even on the dark nights, where we could see 100's of stars and gas clouds with the naked eye, the night vision lit up the sky with thousands of more objects were didn't even know were there. Over 6,000 feet up, with no light pollution, it was truly an awesome sight. Like distant islands or lands on a ship just passing by, we just would talk about how fun it would be to be able to see what was out there.

The topics you cover are super interesting. Some of them are topics you just dont see anywhere else which is fantastic. Plus you have a wonderful voice which very pleasing to the ear. After watching a view videos on a topic, I love ending that binge with one of your videos. You do a good job of taking a subject and playing with the "what ifs" in a story telling way.
Your content isn't that regular! BUT I'm happy with that. Because you put in the time and effort to research. And publish quality videos. Keep it up pal! Amazing work as always
Found Chris Zabriskie about 8 years ago or so. His music is amazing. I can’t believe I re-found him, now set to one of my favorite sleep-intrigue-space-on channels... :)
Hi Sea, if you’re ok with people requesting videos to you I would recommend you to do a video on the disappearance of Brian Shaffer. It’s a 14 year old case where a man is seen on a security camera walking into a bar and never leaving and being seen again. It’s really strange and I think you would be interested in it.
was going through my sub list and saw this channel and thought "i only know sea1997 so who tf is this" and wow, what a surprise honestly. leaving such a toxic game/community to make much more meaningful content. you've really turned over a new leaf, i actually hadn't even realized that the elisa lam video was yours when i watched it all those months ago. cheers mate.
Sometimes I wonder how many views and add revenue I give you. I watch your videos during the day and when I sleep. Your videos play throughout the night. I’m happy to do it too.
Do most ghost galaxies have intermediate mass black holes? Mirach's Ghost (NGC 404) has a central black hole that's about 1/8th the size of Sagitarius A*. Though Sagitarius A* is closer to the mass of the intermediate mass black at the center of NGC 404 than to Andromeda's central black hole.
I wrote a story about a civilization in the Large Magellanic cloud, and how the people saw the Milky Way as the place where the spirits come from when someone is born and where they return to when they die, it was a clearly visible kingdom of heaven, life was a prison sentence, and the world was a temporary prison.
Perhaps its a Trivial question, but none were described as having a Super Massive Blackhole, as ours does. I believe we know Andromeda has a SMBH, but what of these satellite galaxies? Is that a distinguishing characteristic, or is it because we simply do not know? I would think since there is less gas and dust it would be easier to see into their cores. There was a subtle hint at the interactions, that the SMBH might be the heart of a galaxy and it might be the first "taken" or ripped from its dying corpse before becoming a Ghost. I'd really like to know.
John Willis Dwarf galaxies are predicted to contain Intermediate BH’s. They are difficult to observe because they are not large enough to disperse enough stars and make their effects visible through the dense clusters which they are contained in. All globular clusters are remnants of dwarf galaxies which have had most of their mass absorbed by the parent galaxy during minor merger.
How tiny we really are.. its hilarious.. I hope one day the whole of human kind could come to realize that.. what a wonderful world it would be to live in then.
yea a world filled with existential crisis and beta boys taking over control. No one sees a point in life anymore which leads to mass hysteria and devolution and the beta boys in power would be incapable of keeping their countries stable anymore
Thanks for the amazing video on an otherwise obscure subject to the public. Learned so much from this. Just a small offer of correction: Fernão de Magalhães is the name of the Portuguese astronomer. Using another language to refer to him is misleading as to his origins. The same way my name is Ricardo in Portuguese, it doesn’t change because there is a correspondent in the UK, recognizable as Richard. Looking forward to more content from you.
I just discovered this channel and after watching 1 video I immidietly clicker subscribe which I rarely do. Amazing videos with really high quality and the narrators voice is beautiful and calming. This might just become one of my favorite channels along side with Vsauce and Toughty2.
It’s interesting how stars can still be gravitationally bound to a black hole, even though the entire thing passes through a galaxy. I know the small galaxy loses some stars but the fact that it keeps billions is really perplexing.
Imagine looking up at the night sky and seeing an entire galaxy with the naked eye. Unbelievable.
