Great review as always, u hit all the key points! I actually bought this jacket (XL) late Fall 2022, but returned it. The main reason was the 'Euro fit' across my chest and around my hips -- too restricting/tight. I think maybe an XXL would work, but that size was not available. Loved the materials, construction, length (arm and total drop), my intent was to use this backpacking and spring ski touring (for winter ski touring I use an Arctery'x Alpha Lightweight Parka as my emergency parka). I got a Mont Bell Plasma 1000 Alpine Parka XL instead, and the fit is good. Seems like (for me at least!) Patagonia and Arctery'x nail the fit on so many items, but I have trouble with some of the European brands. The Mont Bell fit is really good. Take care, have fun at Bluebird!

Probably amazing! But for me as a midlayer it would be waaay too warm, and for an outer .. 7D & 650 bucks i would be too scared to use it hehe. But good vid!
It is a very unique piece for sure. I feel you on the concern with the 7D! I have been surprised at how good it has been holding up to our testing though. I appreciate the nice note my friend!
@@Engearment it would be so perfect over a light shell. My layering hack is buy great layers and cheap on sale rain shells. Its a pretty amazing combo for the majority of days.
Good question, I feel they are traditional. Have not had an issue with them yet. And I am heading out to camp in some really cold temps then tour in some fun areas here in Colorado. Will report back.
Awesome jacket but for $650 retail, and I got mine at a decent discount, there are more feathers coming out than are staying in. 2nd time other than a trip to the store quick is travelling today for thanksgiving on 2 flights. I am not the only one who has had this problem. This shouldn't be an issue for this price I don't care if it is 7D. D stands for dissapointment this time around.
Curious how this compares to the Montebell Plasma 1000 (which I have and love). Also - off topic - if you would consider reviewing the Arcteryx Kadin. Interesting jacket - have not been able to look at one in person

@@Engearment Yup it fits fine. I am about 220 now but who's counting. I think the fact I am a bit shorter helps with the extra girth and you're right it is very stretchy. I can already tell that this will like shedding a lot as I have read another review it does. I have an OR SuperStrand LT on it's way and yet to jump into getting a Plasma 1000 or a Rab Mythic G Ultra yet to compare. I wouldn't use them for their necessary intended purpose but more so for warmth without bulk when working outside.

Are the zippers YKK COIL zippers or do they have the conventional teeth?

Bought an XL for $480. I am 5"11 and about 215 . Looks like when it gets here I will be returning it. Or can lose some weight
It might fit better than you are imagining. It stretches quite a bit. Great price too!
