those Faber Castell are breathtaking! I'd never buy them because I would just look at them all day instead of using them. They are a work of art.
Half of my artistic life began, as a traveller and explorer, when I was given a tiny portable paint box. That person knew me well. I could not imagine anything as magical as that tiny set of... 9, I think, it fit? ... It was just too beautiful. I should probably find it, my first watercolour box. Should still have it somewhere. Oh, the places we've been...... O.o

I gasped outloud and my husband said, What?! Wow. It's also kind of depressing how much free product companies give away. Lachri got two huge boxes of product from FC not long ago that was extremely depressing. Oh well.

I used the Portable Painter when I took a plein air class with Jared Cullum at Sweetwater Center for the Arts near Pittsburgh! Loved the palette and Jared is a great guy and teacher! But that mega set brought a tear to my eye! Fabulous!
The book looks amazing. It is definitely going on the list for the Grandkid's Christmas.
I love the look of those portable palettes. It looks like it would be really convenient to take with anywhere you would wander. I can't get out & wander anywhere and I still want to get one. Want Monster needs to be tamed.
But those pencils! WOW, Just Wow. What an amazing gift! They were obviously moved to Bless you with those because of your testimony, skill and gift as a teacher.

the micro was adorable, I love Jared's illustrations, and illustrations are so important for the little ones in children's books, when they are too young to read, the pictures will remind them of the story. I used to get lost staring at wonderful illustrations when I was young, so important to have activities children can do all by themselves, anyway, thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for showing the gorgeous wooden box of Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils. I love looking at such extravagant and lavish art supplies so elegantly presented. I have the full set of Polychromos and I am so happy with them. Knowing that Faber Castell produces these wooden boxes for their products allows me to daydream about my dream art studio.

@@cassiescreations9828 i dont do window shopping well. Never have .60 years ago i spent a weeks wages on a watercolor brush..i just had to have it...i will go without eating for studio supplies....i know it doesnt make sense but ...addicted.
Wow!!! I had to wipe drool from my chin when you showed the watercolor pencils. Thanks for showing the pallets, they looked great. The mini pallet is very appealing to me since I carry my supplies everywhere and paint often.

Okay you killed me with the beautiful wooden box from Faber Castell. I love their products. I know the other was student quality but their products are so good they still maybe very enjoyable for quick painting projects. Take care and I hope your entire family are doing great. Nice swag! You are a fortunate man... I’d be happy if they’d sell those same beautiful cases for my existing pencils. There is a need in the market for that kind of well designed quality compact case. I’m also a fan of Fabre Castell and Derwent Inktense. I bought the full set of and full Caran d'Ache of a similar line. My 72 pencil set would get used more if only they weren’t stashed in a zip up case where each pencil is removed from individual elastic loops which aren’t convenient when in the creative space time continuum. I have that watercolor pencil set but ooohhhhh that box. I wish they sold the boxes separately. Completely delicious! Definitely considering the micro painter too. I like how it clipped to your sketchbook. Great method!

The paints look interesting, but I can only afford to buy one set of colors so when it comes to it I choose lightfast high pigment pigments. Hope Faber Castell come out with a more artist quality set.... I so love their brands like you I have just about all Faber Castell drawing supplies they never let you down.
Faber Castell is very generous. I once asked for some samples of the Magnus line and I got this huge box of single Magnus pencils, like 100! and in the bottom was the whole wood box set of Magnus pencils...SWEET! They are an amazing company. Great review. That box is gorgeous!

I got this, but while a lot of people gripe about certain brands of pans not fitting ( which does'nt bother me in the slightest ), I was more concerned about the metal slider - not getting lost, just stick it in your pocket ! - but with the metal slider gradually getting looser with use. I solved this by simply butting the rubber band tight against the slider preventing it slipping one way or the other.
I love those watercolor pencils😍. I have a prismacolor pencils on a large wood case and I love having all those colors. I want the huge watercolor pencil set, Christmas is coming 😊

That's awesome that they sent you the wood set! I just recently upgraded to the 120 set, but in the tin. I was looking at the wooden case, but decided for the $100+ difference between the tin and the case, I'd just deal with unstacking them. I'm satisfied with that decision, even though that case looks very nice.
Oh, and for a video idea: I've been playing around with the Derwent water soluble graphite and graphitint pencils, and found that adding some additional tint with the Albrect Durer makes for some interesting results. I'd love to see what you could do with that technique.
Yeah that would have been my decision as well but...I'm not complaining.

I use the eyelet on the micro pallette for a lanyard and wear it around my neck when out in field. When I find a spot one waterbruah and small sketchbook and BOOM!! I am painting!

Hi Steve........I know this vid is 2 years old, BUT, glue a coin to the back of the micro and it will stick to your magnets....problem solved! Love your vids so much!
The Micro Painter looks so neat and I like your idea of clipping it to the sketchbook. The Kodi novel looks amazing and was a lot of work for sure. While the Faber Castell watercolors are a surprise, somehow I don't expect a company like Faber Castell creating watercolors, their pencils are well known here in Germany and used from school children to artists as they have a variety of them, but the watercolors by them are not used often. They are not the standard watercolor sets that are given to kids here in school, but they're also not professional. The audience would really be more of advanced learner, hobbyist or crafters. I would love to see an in depth review on them. Thanks for the overview and introducing new goodies.
