    Love the portable painter! Especially the fact that it's created by an artist and I'm not just supporting a huge corporation when buying it. It's so well designed that I also use it at home a lot (if not more) than outside. My favorite place to paint is either on my bed when it's cold outside, or at my desk when the sun is shining on me through my window :)

    I have wanted a Portable Painter since I first saw Denise Soden review it in 2017. I don't travel much, and I'm not a plein air painter, so I could never justify it. I recently got a new job that comes with a one hiyr lunch break. I thought I'd maybe try doing some art in my car on my break to decompress. Have I been looking for a reason yo buy this for seven whole years? Absolutely. Anyway, I watched your video while I was waiting for mine to arrive, and now I'm subbed and watching your live streams as I paint! Sorry for the ramble. Not sure if you'll see this on an old video, but comments always help the algorithm!

    Do not have a favorite place for art. Safest place, sure. Home. Interesting place but highly dependable on weather and personal anxiety? Outside. All fun in their own ways.

    Up until now, I paint at my desk in my office. But my son and I are getting ready for the nice weather so we can go en plain air together. We were thinking of the beach or in Carmel Valley and find a nice woodsy area to paint. I love your art work and this was a great review. Thank you.

    I have loved this palette since Teoh reviewed it. But I don’t do plein air so am hesitating spending money on it. I have a small palette (medeen) and have lovely water brushes which can easily be my plein air kit if I ever did paint outdoors . I am SO happy you were sent it❤️❤️. You are a true outdoors artist like Teoh so it’s perfect for you ❤️
    Having said that I still want it 🤣

    I haven't tried plein air painting yet. I still feel too uneasy about it and I'm so SPECIFIC about what I want as a plein air set up, I feel like I can't do it without getting it just right (working on undoing that as it impacts everything). I have looked at this travel palette and I have it on my Amazon wishlist because I am really intrigued by it. I kind of want to try and make James Gurney's set up and use that but who knows if I'll do that. I do finally have a craft desk to paint at and I love it. It's been really nice to have a set place to paint that doesn't take over my regular desk and less worry about spilling water on my work computer 😅

    I have the portable painter and have used it outdoors a few times. My biggest problem is that I like to switch paints a lot (I'm still learning and experimenting), so I'm frustrated that the pans aren't standard size. I'm hoping this year I'll be able to pick and stick to one plein air setup. My favorite place to create is at home where I feel relaxed. Thank you for this video.

    I have a little corner in the family room where I like to paint. I have a wooden cabinet with lots of drawers for storage and there is a desk surface that folds/unfolds. So, I can either open the desk and paint there, or sit on the corner of the sofa with all of my supplies accessible beside me.
    I bought the micro and portable painter classic sets (with the new pan options) from their Black Friday sale last year. I still haven’t chosen my paint colours because it seems so permanent, since I can’t use my normal half pans to switch colours in and out if I choose the wrong ones! I think I’m going to start with the micro palette because it’s the perfect size for a little travel kit I want to take on vacation. I love that they both have spots for water so I don’t have to take a separate container with me.

    • @FaithAnnNB
      @FaithAnnNB Рік тому

      @@SketchesnScrubs To order an expansion set of half pans and have them shipped to Canada (with shipping and exchange rate on the Canadian dollar), it costs almost $40. So that’s not going to happen 😂. If they could be purchased from a Canadian retailer, when ordering other supplies, it would be more feasible. I am so glad I was able to order during their Black Friday sale, so I did get the custom pans at that time. I’m starting with the micro and have filled it with pans that allow me to bring 12 colours. I’m going to use it in combination with Art Toolkit’s little demi palette, so I’ll have a pretty good selection of paint in a very small amount of space 😊.
