@@jamminjamy How do you know if it is wound properly? I plan to buy the extra spools, but just in case it would be helpful to know how to wind it. Thanks.
I had the same issue until I sprayed the center shaft which holds the spool with Deep Creep by Seafoam. It still jammed about 5 more jams after spraying but after that it was golden. I’m thinking dirt or debris jammed it up but the Deep Creep made by Seafoam fixed it for me. It might work for you. Side note, mine had also been in storage for 3+ years cause I couldn’t get it to work but took it out to try again and all is good now. Best of luck
Nice video, thanks. Had the B+D 18V 2.0Ah 28cm AFS grass trimmer. It served me well for a few years. Needed more power with battery so moved on to another brand, but no one can beat B+D in its affordable gardening tools. They give good usable products for the price.
Great video. I would only add that you need tom check the bottom trimmer cap to make note of the string diameter. I thought string was string and bought the wrong diameter and feeding was a nightmare. I bought the correct stuff and all back to normal.
My first weed trimmer was Black and Decker and I still have it. My new weed trimmer has more power and I can control the line easier so for trimming it is the one I use but it doesn't have that wheel for edging so I use the B&D for edging. This weed trimmer looks to be a good entry level model I would recomend going with a battery powered weed trimmer than a corded one, it isn't impossible to accidently get the trimmer line to come into contact with the extension cord.
Very informative and straight to the point. THANK YOU! I bought a used one similar..I have the easy feeder button on top.ts pole extends ( I'm still learning how to use it. Lol. Can't figure the edger out yet..but I think I can get it restrung because of your video lol thank you!
Since this is a corded version, it would have been nice if you would have mentioned what gauge extension cord you need. My understanding that is if you go over 50 ft you need 14 gauge but if you're 50 ft or less you can use 16 gauge. Otherwise an outstanding video. The biggest issue with all these trimmers seems to be line feed problems.
Thanks! This is a really good point and I appreciate you bringing it up! I believe you are correct, since this is a 6.5amp tool if you go over 50 ft you should use a 14 gauge extension cord, if you go over 100 feet you should use 12 gauge, and if you are under 50 ft then 16 gauge is ok according to this website: support.blackanddecker.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057225571-What-extension-cord-should-I-use-for-my-outdoor-power-tool Thanks again for pointing this out :)
Your video is so far the complete guide but the guard doesn’t go all the way so I put the screw on the big hole instead of the hole where it’s suppose to go, I think it will be ok? Thanks for your instruction👍
The guard should snap into place. You may need to give it a couple firm taps with your palm... you can kind of see me doing it in the video here: ua-cam.com/video/UmExslRmIPc/v-deo.htmlsi=gZacHCj0KKROm4Qa&t=71
You just need to unscrew the guard screw and then slide it off. You may need a flathead screw driver to release it. It would be the reverse order of what I talk about here: ua-cam.com/video/UmExslRmIPc/v-deo.htmlsi=Wb7Rsf1nTZNXExIC&t=65
Yeah, let us know how it works out for you! I feel like if the trimmer line is wound properly (in case you do it yourself) you should be ok. If you buy the pre-wound coils that could help and the reviews seem to be decent.
It is useful for larger lawns as long as you have a good electric cord that is long enough and you don't mind being attached to a cord. Hope this helps!
I use a lawn tractor, lawn mower and also string trimmer for my yard. This is a video review to show everyone how this Black and Decker Corded Grass String Trimmer & Edger works and what it is capable of.
We had the older version of this model years ago and it died within a year. Black and decker are the craftsman of cheaper tools. Somehow worse than craftsman.
Thanks for letting us know of your experience with the older model. This performed well with my testing but it's hard to tell what the longevity will be. The reviews on Amazon have been mostly positive. I appreciate you leaving a comment. What brand do you use right now? And is it a corded model, battery powered, or gas?
You can see the cutting in action at the end of the video here, it cuts pretty well. It may not look like it at times since the guard pushes the taller grass away before it gets cut: ua-cam.com/video/UmExslRmIPc/v-deo.htmlsi=EEVL_uDDviwd4zWK&t=506

Just purchased this model today. Your review and tutorial were very helpful. Thank you...
Great, I'm glad my review and tutorial was helpful. Let us know how it works out for you. Happy Trimming! :)
I have this trimmer, the older version. It jams constantly. CONSTANTLY. Drives me crazy.
Thanks for the note and letting us know about your experience! Are you able to make sure the string is wound properly to keep it from jamming?

@@jamminjamy I’m now using a Stiga GT 500e 48v. Works great but different price range.
Cool, interesting brand. I haven't seen that around too much. Thanks for letting us know!

@@jamminjamy My trimmer is the 40v brushless Ryobi trimmer. My blower, hedge trimmer, lawn mower is Ryobi so I can use the same battery.
Cool, thanks for letting us know. Yeah, I like the Ryobi brand too.
very helpful video especially how to turn the wheel and its covers to trim the side
Great, I'm glad this video was helpful to you, thanks for letting me know! :)
Decent trimmer. The wheel really makes it easy to use
Great, thanks for your feedback, this is helpful for others considering this model :)

Except for the guide wheel this is the same exact model as the Craftsman 14" 6.5 amp trimmer I purchased 2 days ago.
Ok, that's interesting, how do you like your Craftsman model?
GREAT VIDEO...WELL COVERED

I juste buy one exactly lire this one and it work great and power full enougth for my needs
Good to hear thanks for letting us know!
Do you know how to troubleshoot for line that doesn't stop coming out?
Hmmm, I haven't heard of that before but make sure the spool is seated properly and the right side of it is facing up.
I had a Toro unit that jammed constantly, same amp pwr ...maddeningly impossible to use ....this one going back too if same issue

Any time, thanks for the note! Do you have one of these string trimmers?
Thanks
You're welcome! :)
7:22 It looks like you could get it up to the bottom of a wall.
Are you asking if this could be used to do edging against a wall? It it has a enough clearance?
@jamminjamy Yes, that black cover would hit the wall if you held it upright, but it looks like you could hold it at an angle.
@@dunbustin That could be a possibility
Why dont you just use a lawnmower?
Does it cut through nettles?

The battery is horrible probably used it no more than 8 times and charger is blinking red, bad battery, wtf
This one I did a review on is a corded version and doesn't have a battery. Does yours look similar to this?
The line feed is horrible.
Going back to Amazon.
Maybe mine is garbage.
Buy quality not block or craftsman. I had horrible experience with them.
Thanks for the note did you use the pre-wound spools or did you wind the spools yourself?
