Your video helped me disassemble the lower section around the motor and gears. Some twine had gotten wrapped so tightly around the shaft that the motor could not spin the head. Was able with your help to get it back in working order. Your tip about the T-15 bit is gold.
Thanks for the vid. Been looking for advice a couple days and you're the only one I found that went beyond how to load string. Fortunately mine has all Phillips head screws but those last two were a b**ch.
I have the LSTE525 model. Very similar. 3 screws holding wheel. For first time opening need to cut warning label on back side, video model didn't have this. Excellent video, offered peace of mind knowing no springs or clips would come out or break off.
Hey love the setup! Very informative video, the visual demonstration was excellent, and very much how I would. They don't make them like they used to hm? But glad to see replacing the plastic gear wasn't crazy difficult. Thank you, money in my pocket not having to buy a new one
Thank you very much for the video and sharing your knowledge!! My black and decker spinner head is locked up and will not move. 18v battery operated 😊😊
I didn’t have a missing gear, but I did want to find out how to take it apart and then found that I had a whole lot of Tuff grass wrapped around the neck of that gear assembly, which stopped it as well took a while to get it all off but I think I’ve done it. Thanks.
Thanks for the video, my issue is the gear is just fine, but the spool housing keeps popping up. I don't see how to make it stay down. There's also a dang screw you can't find when taking it apart.
If you still visit this video. My gears are good on plastic gear and metal gear. They just aren't intertwined. That's why it won't spin, gears are perfect. Any suggestions?
Something is off with the placement. Maybe the shaft that the gear is on has holes that are too large. Like the bearings got hot and melted the plastic. Hard to suggest anything without seeing it
@@EverydayJourney What is the model number of the one you worked on? looking for a used one. my lst201 is grinding and I don't want to buy more batteries for it as they don't last long. Has your lasted a long time? Is that an easy feed model?
@EverydayJourney I did finally find it and now have an appreciation for weed whacking without the guard on. Haha. Thanks for the tutorial, I wouldn't have been able to do it without it. I probably would just have gone and bought a new one. Aloha

Thank you. gotta go find a T15 bit and open mine up... lots of grass got jammed in my trimmer and now it is not spinning.
Really excited to fix it.
Hope it goes well
Thank you. My weed wacker just stoped on me in the midst of doing some wacking of weeds. 👍🏾
No problem, take care and thanks for watching

Probably not the motor. Plastic gears, or a jam, are probably the culprit

Mine spun a bearing. Melted the platic housing. Now I know. Thanks,EJ.

sixteen bucks is cheaper than 50 bucks for a new trimmer
Was great but wish camera was closer
I hope to mount a camera over my work table in the future. For now, this table is to wide to get close enough. Sorry.
I can't find the last screw! Wish you were closer.
It’s not really fixed unless you have pieces left over :-)

Back in action. Happy to help

It completely destroyed itself... 😅
