Thank you everyone for watching and a special thanks to Nicol for doing this video with us! This was obviously our first time doing a video like this & we super inspired after watching Nicol's hair journey on her channel + seeing NikkieTuroials recent virtual collabs! I have been watching Nicol for years on UA-cam and I am so thankful that we were able to do this with her and to see her rocking her beautiful curls!! Please make sure to like this video if you want to see more like this on the channel! xoxo Happy texture Tuesday!!

I finally followed along with this video today.. and OMG holy definition batman!! My curls are amazing !
It was really great to see the same routine on completely different hair types and how the techniques still worked across both.
I think this would make an amazing series. I think all your followers would kill for you to come and style their hair.. but the next best thing is watching you instruct someone with the same hair as them and see the sort of results they could get.
Thanks for all the amazing tips, tricks and science. You really are a gift to the curly community ❤️❤️❤️

Nicol I'm like you, I have very fine, thin hair but I've recently started embracing my curl and I love it . I do have one suggestion for you that the seesters probably don't think about bc they're blessed with thickness! You can go to Sally's (or probably any beauty supply store) and get Toppik hair building fibers and it will change the way you feel about your hair. I know it wasn't mentioned in the video but I am almost certain it bothers you like it does me that you can see so much of your scalp. This will end those worries, I promise and they have different shades to choose from as well as different methods to apply it. Just check it out, trust me on this one . I'm so glad to see women building one another up and helping each other out, I wish we could get to a place where we respected and uplifted one another without the threat of feeling like we're competition. Anyway ❤ your hair, you look amazing and hope this little tip from one thin, curly haired girl to another helps. 😉

      Your hair is gorgeous!!
My curl is somewhere between yours and Amanda's, but not nearly as thick, or long as hers, and I've found that I do better with a scarf, than a bonnet. The less the hair moves around, the better. My hair is always a hot mess in the morning with the bonnet, and I've never been able to do past "day 2" hair, and even that was iffy lol. I discovered the scarf last weekend, and I'm currently on day 3 hair. So, if the bonnet doesn't work for you, try a scarf.

Mell, your channel is my life saver!!! I'm japanese and have a curly hair, which is quite rare. Even if some people have a natural wavy textured hair, sleek straight hair is main stream and that is a strong image of "beautiful healthy hair". When I was kid, I have no idea how to style my hair , even didn't know my hair is curly always my hair was frizzy and poofy. I was so shy about that. So many people thinks my hair is really damaged and unhealthy, had shame my hair until mid 20s. 3 years ago I found your channel and your amazing advices completely change my life. Thank you so much! Sorry my awkward English.

This is my favourite hair video EVER! My hair is a similar curl type to Nicol's but at the moment so damaged. This has really inspired me to persevere with getting my natural hair back. Nicol, you look amazing at the end of this video. Mel, I can't believe you did this remotely! Amazing tutorial. Also proved that hair doesn't have to be really long to look INCREDIBLE. That bob is beautiful. Thank you so much for this video!

Loved this video, the one I needed for a long time. I do have a loser pattern like Nicol's and funny enough a couple of days ago I tried to style with a mouse instead of gel and my curls were more define. I will keep experimenting. Love from Panama Mel

I starting to college in the middle of rural Kansas. This area has really hard water. I have use shampoo for hard water, which helped, but my curls were never the same after moving back home. This video has literally brought my curls back to were they were originally! Thank you so much for saving my curls!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I just discovered you and I love you already. I was just like Nicol , I was ashamed of my curls up until 2 years ago I did a complete shaved head..Bald. I shaved it again about 8 months after it grew. And now it’s completely been a year and 4 months since I shaved it the second time. I dyed my hair red and wanted to give it a trim and seeing your 3A/3B hair. It makes me appreciate my curls even more. Growing up especially being African American, I always got rude comments and I just always kept it straight but couldn’t stand that when I finally decided to go heat free before my big chop.. it just wasn’t flattering to me. I really enjoy learning new tips and tricks for keeping my hair healthy for it to grow. And I am officially subscribing!

Yes!! Thank you for focusing on FINE short curls!! Loved the video Mel and how detailed it was. Having curly hair is one thing, but short, fine AND low density curls chile.....the scalp ends up being the star of the show. Would love to see more videos like this! I struggle with triangle head (all the volume and density is at the bottom and the roots are stick straight. Out here looking like a geometry equation). Also a video on styling curly bangs!! With curtain bangs being in right now would love to see the curly alternative to that!! I have straight across bangs and God forbid there's a slight breeze or I suddenly walk too fast because I'll be stuck with a middle part the rest of the day. They never stay how I styled them! Anyway love you girls!!

It's super refreshing to see someone with hair like mine. My hair is almost exactly like Nicols, from the length to how fine her hair is. I always thought something was wrong because of how thin my hair is and the fact that you can really see my scalp as I'm stying / when my hair is wet and now I feel more confident in my quest to having healthy curls!

This is LITERALLY the video I've been waiting for. Totally my hair type. I'm actually gonna get a big chop from below my collar bone and go as short as her in the video to get rid of my old damage that just wont curl anymore. I have my appt in 2 hrs! Super excited. She's also gonna do a b3 curl treatment.

Pro tip: when moving the rubber and removing/adding teeth in your Denman Brush, first get it wet! Then it moves like a breeze.

I know so many other people have said this, but I would love to see more videos like this! I LOVED when y’all were doing the denman brush and her hair looked the way mine does when I try to use it, and you were like, “that’s how it’s supposed to be.” It made me feel more confident, so I went and wet a vertical clump and did the denman brush and created a beautiful clump! I love love love all your videos, but seeing someone else (whose hair is more similar to mine) do these things for the first time alongside you was soooo helpful. You’re amazing!

I have never used a diffuser- I threw my attachment away when I bought my hair dryer 20 yrs ago 😫 back when I was straightening my hair every single day... blow dry on high, then use a straightening iron at 400 degrees!! So will diffusing my hair give it more curl?

I love this video! I dyed my hair recently and I’ve been struggling with my hair maintenance lately. It felt dry and brittle even before I dyed it. I saw this video and followed your steps. I don’t have any fancy hair products because they’re hard to achieve in my country so I worked with drugstore products who are still curly approved. I never thought about a moisture and protein imbalance nor the way I style my hair while its wet. My hair is medium-high porous due to my recent dye and I still managed to get the most defined and shine looking curls due to your tutorial. Thank you so much and blessings 💖💖💖💖💖 you’re a queen
