  • Former assistant for Brian Epstein, and “Studio Roadie” for the Beatles, Kevin Harrington returns to discuss what it was like to work with and get to know Mal Evans and Neil Aspinall. There’s a brief discussion on Allen Klein and the Beatles breakup. And Kevin fills us in on his life after the Beatles, as a roadie and stage manager. This follows our previous interview of his working for Epstein, Tony Bramwell and the Saville Theatre, and the Beatles, and being on the Apple rooftop for their final public performance (show #38.) Thank you, Kevin, for once again being such a wonderful guest!

    It was announced yesterday in Rolling Stone that Mal Evans' biography will be released in 2023.

      To Liverpix: That's great, but the REAL book would be Mal's behind the scenes book on his time with The Beatles. When Lennon heard that Mal had written (or was writing) a book of that sort, he confronted Mal in a most unpleasant way, and some say that Mal was never the same after that. Who knows if Mal's manuscript even exists now. It would be a treasure!
      That's a great channel you have by the way. I just subscribed.

      @@jamesolsen7610Thanks, I read that Mal's diaries would be released too in 2024. Not heard about the confrontation with John Lennon. George Harrison gave his blessings for Mal to use his stuff for publication though.

    This was brilliant. Kevin is a great storyteller and Ken a very respectful listener(rare thing now). Can imagine having a pint with Kevin and this is the nearest thing to it.

    A well spent 2+ hours! Loved how Ken Harrington opened up on his own personal character flaws. His alcoholism issues...Allen Klien being a jackass towards Apple employees. Drugs, weed smoking...busted for weed in Cedar rapids Iowa!! What a resumé on being on the road as roadie and manager! From Motorhead, Ted Nugent, Pet Clark, Ike & Tina Turner to Matt Monroe!

    For Ken Michaels : put on a damn light, have you something to hide in the dark????

    • @kenmichaelsradio748

      I appreciate your concern. Early on, this was a constant problem. Most of the time since this issue has been resolved. You'll find that in my later shows. There's one interview I've been holding back because my room is very dark while it's going on. It is tougher to fix this problem when the interview is done in the afternoon, and I'd really have to block any sunlight coming into my room. In any case, it's the content that matters more than the lighting. Overall, most of my interviews, now over 100, the lighting has been fine.

    Kevin doesn't tell the full story about Tommy Cooper's death. He actually died on stage during a live televised performance, so millions in the UK witnessed him collapse. When it became apparent it wasn't part of his act there was a hasty cut to commercials. I was 22 at the time, and myself and a friend were watching. Very sad.

    true . . . ? Mal was on 38 Pound per week ???????

    • @mikeysaint4368
      @mikeysaint4368 9 місяців тому

      In 1969, £38 was on the equivalent of about £800, so he was earning over £3,000 a month. A pretty good wage for a "personal assistant" back then, plus he hung out with The Beatles.

    there is no animosity whatsoever in the Get Back movie between the boys! it's Paul who by reffusing to join the other three & klein, put an end to the Beatles (even if he might have been right about it)

    • @sunny70299
      @sunny70299 2 роки тому +4

      Or it was the other 3s insistence on doing a deal with a known conman and bully that put an end to The Beatles.

      @@bbsoni4814 The Beatles weren't a majority rules band, they had an long standing rule that if one Beatle wasn't comfortable with something then none of them would do it. Which is why in Get Back Paul was adamant in shooting down MLH repeated attempts to get them to go the gig in Libya, Ringo didn't want to go over seas so it was off the table. So the other Beatles going ahead with Klein when Paul was uncomfortable to Paul was a deep betrayal. All the more so given John signed on with AK before the others agreed to it.

    Ken Michaels, would you ever get some form of lighting in your face, you are sitting in the dark, how come all your GUESTS can do yet you refuse to do it?
    Are you staying hidden foir a reason??????????

    • @kenmichaelsradio748

      It's not intentional. I have a lamp that is directly in front of me, and a side lamp as well, and most of my shows I am lit well. Sometimes during the day with sunlight coming through I come across dark. I will certainly try to fix it. Most of my videos the lighting has been fine.
