- Laurie Kaye along with Dave Sholin from the RKO Radio Network conducted the very last interview John Lennon ever gave, with Yoko Ono at the Dakota on the day he was murdered. Laurie returns to the channel after giving a powerful interview a year ago discussing that interview, and also covers radio special she wrote and co-produced “The Beatles From Liverpool To Legend,” and prior interviews she did with George Harrison, Paul McCartney and George Martin. Her new book “Confessions Of A Rock ‘N’ Roll Name Dropper: My Life Leading Up To John Lennon’s Last Interview” covers her interesting life in radio, TV and film, the many celebrities she’s interviewed, and the specials and programs she’s worked on. I always enjoy an interview from any person who worked radio. I was born in a small town of 6000 people in the Worlds Fruit Basket, the great Central San Joaquin Valley. Starting after 4pm you cold pick up KFRC-San Francisco 610 kikocycles on the am radio dial all the way 200 miles away to Fresno County. Boss Radio KHJ, Melrose Ave, was too far away, 5000 watta and the Sierra Mountains blocked the signal. I listened to both RKO/General Tire AM radio stations whenever I was in the "City" KFRC in San Francisco and in Southern California, 93KHJ! Ken another great topic and what a wonderful interview with Laurie Kaye. I will buy her book once I come back from my trup to our ranch in Jalisco México. Keep up the great guests coming.

@@lauriejoke I know I will. I met Les Garland at KYNO-Fresno when he was promoting "The Box" tv channel in 1992. He was so gracious. I told him I listened to him when he was a jock at KY-NO back in 1972-74. He laughed and said, "That's when I had hair." I worked at KY-NO, my only radio job before my decades at FOX and Warner Bros.
