The thing about the Beatles is you can go in their catalog and pick a dozen random songs that weren't singles or really famous and make an album that is great.
That is so true and there's not a lot of bands that you can say that about.
1. And Your Bird Can Sing
2. I'll Follow The Sun
3. Glass Onion
4. Savoy Truffle
5. The Long and Winding Road
Side 2
6. Julia
7. Why Don't We Do It in the Road
8. Think For Yourself
9. Octopus' Garden
10. Two of Us
Myers said it well when he said: "they are underrated". This is what I've been saying about The Beatles and Queen for years. The public loves them, and praises them. But even most of the public who praise them don't even know exactly HOW great those bands really are.
Queen are terrible
Queen is vastly overreacted.
What paperwork do I need to fill out to stop being gatekept about whether I know how good those bands are?
@@dianapevtsov I'd tell you, but those papers are behind a gate that I am keeping and are not to be touched by the likes of you.

Pathetic, pandering 'move by Myers' in order to make sure his status - among his sick, hypocritical, left-wing lunatic, Hollywood Elite Overlords - remains secure
Love his reverence to The Beatles. He’s right they are underrated lol . They are best there was , is and ever will be
Yes and they will always be the greatest.
The first person I ever heard say The Beatles were underrated was Mike Huckabee on Fox News about 10 years ago.
not underrated come on lol. brilliant as they were but never underrated
Uh, are you talking about British Invaders?
There will never be anything like The Beatles. Ever again. It's literally impossible to recreate that kind of focused cultural impact now. And that band was actually up for it.
Imagine going to a taping of Colbert, you're watching these two legends have a splendid discussion about The Beatles... But you have to sneeze! You hold it in as long as you can, but it slips out. And then, mid-sentence, Mike Myers blesses you. Hot damn, I love that guy

Class act of Mike coming out in a Sabres jersey. Crazy seeing someone wear that sweater on a late night talk show.
I grew up in Buffalo and went to Canada for beer. My senior class trip was in Toronto in 1975. What a trip.
That shirt and what he said at the beginning...made me cry. Class act, man.
As a Buffalo native and Sabres fan, I'm doubly touched that, Mike, as a hard-core Leafs fan, wore a Sabres' sweater. Thanks for the love. Classy guy. Btw...I watched Pentaverate knowing Mike was gonna portray a lot of characters; perhaps, not as funny as Austin Powers' trilogy, but still worth the chuckle as was the relevant message within the final episode. The Buffalo "Steak Knives" ❤ Mike Myers 🇨🇦 😉
i am canadian but raised a Bruin fan in the 1970s when theSabres and Bruins were battling it out....but always thought that original Sabres jersey was the greatest...and jesus what serious hockey fan could hate a class act like Gilbert Perrault? Not me and he gave me the willies as a Bruin fan too!

“Dreams are private movies, and movies are public dreams.” - Mike Myers
(Though it may have originated earlier than the first time Mike Myers said it publically, for example, someone named Michael J. Casey seems to have posted this turn of phrase back in 2012.)
Words are funny things; kind of like Lego's blocks.
Two kids can get the same idea to built a cool race-car, use exactly the same blocks, make the same cool race-car.
But those kids never met.
An idea whose time has come will crop up all over the place!
@@pirobot668beta no no no, Leibniz invented calculus.
Either way, it's a beautiful thought.
I'm from Buffalo and I can really appreciate the great heart it takes for a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, like Mike Myers to put on a Buffalo Sabres jersey out of respect.
Also "I must say", (👈Canadian talk), that I spent so many wonderful times in Toronto starting at age 12 and nearly lived in Canada in my 30's it's a great country and people and we should try hard to emulate their kindness to others.
I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan when I was 12. Since then they have been a part of my life. Hard to put into words their impact. And I am baffled by how they can still have an impact on my life, and clearly on the lives of so many people. They were together for 7 years, 7 months, 24 days. Put out about 250 songs. Averaging one every 10 days. No artist comes close to what the Beatles did musically and culturally. I hate when people say "It will never happen again" Infinity is a long time and the universe is infinite. But I think with the Beatles, it will never happen again.
I feel like I haven't seen Mike Myers in a long time, I was starting to get worried. I'm glad he's doing okay.

Love the Sabres jersey,Mike. Love you
Sweet interview!!! Mike’s reverence for the Fab Four is completely understandable. They were the most consistently influential and consequential rock band of the 20th century. Even after John was murdered, their profound influence played on and evolved as rock music did. My opinion, needless to say, and biased because I was alive and watching when the epiphany happened on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. Unforgettable. 😊🎶🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼💥
I lived through the Beatles too. They changed everything….for the better.
I remember that night-we were in the kitchen dining area watching TV.
Yeah. This trendy, Beatles superfan thing is very disingenuous. We all like The Beatles but this just comes off as really pretentious.
Amen, brother!
You were late. The Beatles released their first single in 1962. You jumped on a bandwagon, my friend

Yes, it’s good!
I loved it too
Just this year it hit me that Meyer's Austin Powers character looks exactly like Peter Asher, Jane Asher's brother, Jane having been Paul McCartney's fiancee and muse. Makes sense that Meyers is a big Beatles fan.
I swear this is true - I just watched the episode on YT, and sneezed while Mike was speaking. It was a loud one, and a second later he says "Bless you". I sat up in my chair and said "whaa!?". Seconds later I realized someone in the audience had sneezed at the time I did!
Again, honest, this really happened...

Mike Myers is such a nice guy. I've not watched Pentaverate yet because of the poor reviews, but this interview made me remember how much I love the guy. Gonna put it on now.
if you are a fan of old mike meyers (austin powers era) then you will really enjoy the show.
Yep. Just done the first couple and really enjoying it so far.
It's really funny in the same dumb way that Austin Powers was really funny.
Overall, I liked it. Some of the jokes were a little too on the nose or a little too low brow, but it was fun, it was funny, and the overall concept was cool and I was again impressed by how good of an actor Mike Myers is.
I gut laughed 5 minutes in, not sure what to expect. Having some insight on today's online political and culture war BS helps but it's still an all round fun experience.
Mike Myers is at the top of his game here.

When Mike Myers _first_ cane to Scarborough, Toronto, he was one of only _three_ punk rockers in the school. He was routinely beaten up. Then his family left for a year and during that year, his hair grew back. He "normallized" his appearance.

I wish I had some way of telling Mike Myers how much he's meant to me
for so much of my life. I fell in love watching him perform on SNL when I
was only 9 years old. I was unknowingly autistic, and autistic people
have "special interests", subjects that they are so interested in that
they feel they must learn everything about them. Autistic females,
especially those in adolescence, tend to make their special interests
celebrities, and Mike was mine. I wanted to watch everything he was in
and I learned everything I could about him. My friends got so tired of
me quoting line after line from Austin Powers and Wayne's World and So I
Married An Axe Murderer, but I didn't care, those movies made me happy.
I'm a bit more casual of a fan now compared to my very autistic
childhood where I sometimes would watch at least one movie of his a day,
but I still adore him. When he came out with his book Canada a few
years back, it made me so happy to read it and learn more about him and
the amazing country he hails from. The relationship he had with his dad
must be so bittersweet, because it was so good and now I'm sure even to
this day he misses him terribly. I can relate as I lost my wonderful dad
3 years ago. Anyway, this is a very long and convoluted way of saying
that I unequivocally love Mike Myers for who he is and for what he
creates, and I'm so grateful to him. Growing up, when things were tough,
sometimes the joy I got from his art was all that kept me going. The
laughter helped heal my heart. Thank you Mike. PS- Another one of my
special interests is Canada, one I'm pretty sure was sparked from my
love for Mike, as both are so wonderfully kind. I have a lot of Canadian
memorabilia, including a huge flag hanging above the desk where I'm
typing this. I had plans to finally visit in 2020, but then covid came.
