This song is about the volcanic eruption at Pompei that killed so many and preserved their bodies in situ. Ive seen Siouxsie live and she is incredible!

"Kiss Them For Me" is worth a listen. Smoother, more "mainstream" perhaps. Love her vocals in that one, heavy eastern influence.

Siouxsie and her famous almost yodel. the way she draws out O's. another album you should check out is "through the looking glass" Siouxsie takes her favorite songs and Banshee's them. This wheels on fire, the Passenger and My Favorite a cover. You're lost little girl (by the Doors.)
