Siouxsie Soux is 66 now and started an English tour this year. Hope to see her play in Ireland. I was a huge Siouxsie fan growing up.

I’m a 61 year old man. Siousxie and the Banshees are pretty much my favorite band ever. I’ve yearned for over 30 years to see them live again. The last time was year 1, show #2 of Lollapalooza. Over 30 years ago. My dreams came true at Cruel World Fest this year, although it was sans The Banshees. Still, when she sang Dear Prudence, I fought the good fight as long as I could because I knew what was coming. Eventually I gave up and let the tears stream from my eyes with full abandonment. Whoever is reading this may or may not understand, but that’s just how it was.

The cure frontman Robert Smith who was Banshees guitarist at this time convinced the band to do a beatles cover as a joke, and it became one of their most successfull single !

nice reaction guys , not the best song from them to start with ( it's a Beatles cover btw) - they ( and other british goth bands from the '80s like killing joke , bauhaus , the cure....) were a huge influence for bands like korn , deftones ...even 'till today - if you go back to Siouxsie someday check "happy house" , "spellbound" , "arabian nights""christine" , "desert kisses"or "israel".fun fact : the only dark hair on the video is actually Robert Smith ( from The Cure) who was part of the band around '82-'83

@@wats2729 I don't know about that. The only reason they got any airplay at least in the States was due to the upswell of the genre as a whole. There was a ton of bands in that time frame that was making their mark and doing well. You could call it a post-punk goth invasion.

Siouxsie could sing her face off hitting all notes and ranges in any given song! Super talented and while she started (as far as I know) the goth look, she considered herself punk and did not like the goth scene or fans. She started as a groupie following the Sex Pistols where she performed her first song on stage the Lords Prayer (the punk version). One of her running mates at the time was Billy Idol. Just a little trivia for ya. Thanks for reaction to my staple band from my youth!

One of the things about Siouxsie that is really cool is her dance moves. I've seen her in concert 5 times and her moves were mesmerising. She has had a life-long hatred and vendetta against security guards and bouncers and one time I saw her watch this security guard from the stage. The security guard was being a total prick and shoving and pushing around some of the people at the front of the audience. And in the middle of performing -- without interrupting the song -- Siouxsie leaned down from the stage and grabbed the security guard by the throat and shook him like a rag-doll and when the song ended she shouted at him: "Go f**k off and beat your chest in the corner. Wanker!"

This is off the Beatles White Album. Great cover by Siouxsie but I don’t get an 80’s vibe from this, more 60’s psychedelia with the phasing sound. You need to catch up on late Beatles music.

I remember when this was a hit - I heard it under somewhat unfortunate circumstances and hated it, not for that reason, but because I was in the depths of studying the Beatles at the time, and any Beatles covers were striking a bad note with me. Ten years later I heard it again - along with a couple more Banshees songs - and my reaction was "damn, she can sing, after all - what have I been missing all these years?""
