Les Rita Mitsouko 💣💥💯. Greets from Germany...fantastic art and brilliant music.
This one is a Major hit in France. Still broadcasted a lot on the radio 40 years after its release. Very unique and experimental but les Rita Mitsouko are one of the best French bands ever
You can't imagine how this first song from them was huge when came out, and still huge: put it now in a party: everybody dance on it.
Thgere a lot a looooot to say about The Rita Mitsouko, but they are really important in the french rock / pop history.
Videos were always silly, a crazy world, with a lot of imagination, new sounds, everytime a new song / album from them was out, they tried really new things...and always with a big succes.
RIP Fred Chichin (the guitarist and husband of the duet), we lost a big artist when he died.
The song alwayus seems silly, crazy , fun, but when you know about the lyrics there are always a lot of deep meanings, mostly sad (I recommend "le petit train"... many french don't even know what it is really about).
Catherine Ringer is a complex and fantastic artist, her voice is amazing. Lot of people spitted on her at the beginning because, to make enough money to live before earning enough with music, she acted in adult movies (even Gainsbourg himself told her she was a whore in an interview, but as always, provocation and alcohol)
But, as I say, Rita Mitsouko loved provocation, they were incredible artist, on stage, on album, on videos, very very creatives and they pushed the limits of french pop rock music.
Rita Mitsouko is a french gem very important, but I can understand, when you hear them from the first time you can be speechless and think: well, who are those crazy stupid people?
The duet with marc lavoine is "Qu'est ce que tes belle"
Bonjour Oncle D,
welcome to the completely crazy musical style of Rita Mitsouko, whether it's the music or the clips, everything is colorful and quirky even the songs that talk about drama like "le petit train". Catherine Ringer the singer made a duet with Marc Lavoine “je me sens pas belle'
Lyrics in english:
Marcia she dances
On rayon satin
Expanded polystyrene
At his feet
Marcia dancing with legs
Sharp like cleavers
Two arrows that give ideas
Sensations
Marcia is skinny
Beautiful on stage beautiful as in the city
Seeing her dance transforms me
In excited
Ah Moretto like your mouth
Is huge when you smile
And when you laugh I laugh too
You love life so much
So what is this cold
What do we feel in you?
But it's death
Who murdered you Marcia
It's death
You burned yourself out Marcia
It's cancer
That you took under your arm
Now you're in ashes, ashes
Death feels likе an impossible thing
And even to you who is strong as a rockеt
And even to you who are life itself Marcia
It was death that took you
You might also like
Marcia dances a little Chinese
Heat in shoulder movements
Flat like an Inca hieroglyph
From the opera
With the head
She also dances very well
And his face
Dance with everything else
She searched
A new way
And invented it
She's the grasshopper
The lovesick mermaid
The dancer in the flannel
Or the cardboard
Ah Moretto like your mouth
Is huge when you smile
And when you laugh I laugh too
You love life so much
So what is this cold
What do we feel in you?
But it's death
Who murdered you Marcia
It's death
You burned yourself out Marcia
It's cancer
That you took under your arm
Now you're in ashes, in ashes
Death seems like an impossible thing for you
Who is life itself Marcia
And even to you
Who is strong like a rocket
It was death that took you
Marcia Marcia Marcia Marcia Marcia
In the 80's, I danced to this song until my feet hurt! Still do.
The lyrics cannot properly be translated, lots of metaphors. It's a tribute to an argentinian dancer who died of cancer. It basically says that even if Marcia was very strong, death had the upper hand. The music is very upbeat and looks like a surrealist painting, but the lyrics are sad. It's a tribute to the courage of a dead friend, who danced and did funny stuff until the very end. Making such an absurdly funny video is the band's way to give the Reaper the middle f!nger, like see, you will come for us all but in the meantime: Carpe Diem!
"Marcia baila" is in Spanish and translates to "Marcia Danse".
This song is a tribute to a dancer friend Who died very young of cancer. We all dance in France to this song, moving and celebrating life to pay tribute.
well damn , she seemed so happy and goofy in the video : /
@@ReactionsbyD I highly recommend you to react to their song "Le petit train " which also seems joyful when you hear it, but in fact is a song about people being transported in concentration camp during WWII.
@@ReactionsbyD Hi, it’s quite common in French culture and French pop songs to hide powerful dramas behind a joyful aspect or melody.
Here : a friend of the singer died young because of a breast cancer.
Two joyful songs : « C’est une belle journée » by Mylène Farmer and « Je chante » by Charles Trenet deal with the suicide of the protagonist etc…
It’s very difficult for a none French to understand the meaning…. Marcia was a very creative female dancer and she had a cancer and died . The mouth is about the squelette when we death !Another video callled le petit train ( inspired of a song for young people ) very creative and meaningful about the Hollocost . I recommend. And thanks ! Your French is better than my English ( apologies)
I am french. Love the song. Never understood the lyrics
❤
Don't worry, I heard this song when it came and I STILL don't know what it says! I know it's an hommage to a dancer who died of breast cancer. I have no clue what the words mean. It was a HUUUGE hit in France at the time and can still be heard. Catherine Ringer (the singer) still sings. Chinchin (the guitar player and her husband) died some years ago. My fav of their titles is C'est Comme Ca. Amazing video.
Thank you for reacting to the video proposal I sent you. And yes, today the French women are shaved :D
The only response to "do French women shave" is also the simplest, well; some do some don't some do it sometimes,it's just their choice.
J’adore les Rita Mitsouko ! RIP Fred...
"Ce com ca" best Video ever and one of my All Time favs.
❤🌹❤️🔥
One of the best French bands ever. Try "C'est comme ça".
Whenever i see or hear this song all i can think about is Rock Et Belles Oreilles parodying this song 😂😂😂
Costumes de Jean-Paul Gaultier et Thierry Mugler
Escucha ce comme ça
You chose a very, very special group 😄🇨🇵
Bravo pour votre français
99% girls are shaved
This was a huge success, the song relates to a friend’s death.
You can find more classic french songs, chansons, like aznavour, brel...
Rita is on the crazy side but french like it too.
And the video is a kind of exercice de style on the top of the lyrics.
We like to have fun with our culture
She are so crazy… ❤ big love american guy listen stromae avé cesaria see u later
Dear D, to reconcile yourself with French song you should really put my patreon request JJ Goldman “Puisque tu pars” (english subtitles!)
Let me guess... 80's? 😄😃👍
