- This is a 20 minute or so long Davy Jones tribute that I presented at the Monkees Convention in NY in 2014.
It features some incredibly rare footage including outtakes from the 1996 Disney documentary, a rare interview from around 1971, some British TV appearances in the 80's and some other bits and pieces.
I've been meaning to post this online for all those who came to the convention and of course for those who missed it. Sadly, I lost my original files...luckily I had given a copy of this to Fred Velez who managed to dig it out and send it to me. Thanks Fred!
Please enjoy and come to monkeebootlegs for more of your Monkees Rarities!
This is the Davey we lost. The beautiful young boy we all adored. I cried all day the day he passed. I still do at times. Losing him and Peter was like losing our childhood.
Also Michael Nesmith
One Interview after he passed that Grabs my heart still when they interviewed Mickey, Mike & peter (before he passed) regarding the 2020 tour...
Mickey says" I dont know how im going to sing Daydream Believer without Davey...and Mike replied, "We wont, It doesnt belong to us it belongs to them " ( as he pointed to the audiance)...He really does care fir fans as much as the rest if them..the one thing they did all hv in common❤
❤RIP DAVEY & PETER❤
David made so many people happy for so many years and continues to! 💖💖💖
Peace be upon David Thomas Jones & Peter Halsten Thorkelson (aka Peter Tork ), thanks for the laughs, the memories, & the music. May the angels take you to your rest.
Also peace upon Robert Michael Nesmith RIP
He was the best there ever was. I'm 60 and I'm still in love with him.
He was our first real true love. The love and adoration of a 13 year old is just as strong and lasting as that of an adult. We lost something so integral to our childhood and life when he passed. An amazing man. I too still love him.
Right on!.. I was born in 68 so mid 70s thru early 80s they were still HOT 🔥
Rest in peace David Jones, Peter Tork, and Mike Nesmith. You will always be sadly missed
Every time we lose one, I cry a little more. RIP guys. We miss you!
Davy was so gorgeous
I most recently fantasized about Davy Jones saying this to me. "What's you're wearing a blue leather Hathaway patch over your left eye for?" No one ever wants to live with restrictive eye sight, of course. 👁
u were a great actor in my opinion and a great musician U entertain me for many years.U took me away from my sad reality. Thank you. God bless ur soul
God bless your soul Beatrice, howdy from Dallas Texas
Davy was the first love of my life, from the ages of 4-6, when The Monkees show was actually in production. Never really stopped loving Davy and The Monkees, even to this day. I was lucky enough to see them in concert during their 80s MTV revival three times; I even attended a Monkees convention where I met Davy and Micky. My heart was broken when Davy passed so suddenly and so young. Then, in these past twelve years, we've lost Peter and Mike. Thank heavens Micky is still with us... but it must be sad and strange for him to be the last one standing. My, how time passes... but my love for Davy and the other boys goes on.
Wonderful "rare" clips here!! This is awesome!!! Thank You!!
He’s so precious. All generations love Davy.
I haven't told Davy Jones that I fantasized about a combat tank that smashes/squashes the NASCAR race cars and the Tyrell P34 F1s flat like paperweight. It's just like what the monster trucks do in this motorsport event. They definitely squash/smash all of the old 4-door box sedans flat like paperweight. They do the same thing just no doubt. The fictitious monster trucks you never heard of are daddy's girl, Captain crush, and Sheriff Perry.
RIP my King DAVID! Wish we could kiss n hug again.
Miss you so much!❤️
THANK YOU FOR THIS...Some of course iv seen a million times but WOW There some i havent😄

My heart is still broken for Davy's and Pete's deaths.
And Mike Nesmith
Top bloke!
Davy Jones was beautiful, gorgeous, talented and he had the cutest bum. (: (: (:
Davie better hide it, before you bite it
Very fun montage with a little bit of everything, some songs and some jokes, spiffy outfits, all that fun. Thanks! Whoah! Who was the cowboy introducing daydream believer? Looked a bit like James Hetfield! Wacky stuff.
Memorial Davy Jones The Monkees December 30 1945 - February 29 2012
He looks like he stepped right off of the Brady Bunch set into Rainy Jane. Same shirt and hair!
who was the singer who brought Davy out to sing Daydream Believer?????
Garth Brooks ???
+Chloe Stabler it's U2's The Edge. :D
I thought it was Leather Man from the Village People.
Mr Slave
Los Zafiros were on The Benny Hill Show once or twice.
Did you notice that Davy Jones never sung and performed the national anthem: God Bless America? He never did it in any NASCAR stadium, which is what I'm thinking. Even though it's the star spangled banner, it's something that's supposed to be the official American national anthem. 🤔 💭 🤔 🏟 🎭 ♥️ 😳 😆 😜 😄 🎭
Well he was English! 😅
God save the Queen
@@davidfalconbridge8878 It was the Russian immigrant named Irving Berlin who wrote, composed, sung, and performed the national anthem called God Bless America. I never knew that at first. Not until I listened to and watched the Peanuts cartoon series. Snoopy was impersonating Irving Berlin in this cartoon movie. 🇺🇸 🎭
OMG! @ 1:13 looks like Conan O'Brien!
Does anyone have the full episode of june evening I'd love to see it
Same here,@Beatriz Ayala
Lo pueden traducir? Si son tan amables.
Seems like a fun, interesting individual. Go to 6:50 and tell me ... Doesn't Davey llook strangely different?
10:15 😂
why do all the Brit presenters from the 60s and 70s look like major creepers? Roger Whittaker? I guess I'd take him over Savile, but he still looks sketchy.
South African 😊
