- Presented in it's entirety is the 1986 Los Angeles Convention. Please note there was a lot of Monkees activity in 1986.
This features Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones both doing separate Q&A's. Bobby Hart sings Steppin' Stone with The Characters. Jan Berry and Rodney Bingenheimer make guest appearances.
I am sharing this as I digitise my Monkees VHS collection. Please do share with friends and Monkees fans!
I was there and I also have this video on VHS and would love to get it redone on digital. PS Mickey answers my question! I asked if they would consider performing at my sister’s wedding. Lol
Wow what a video! So many fans! Look like you had a great time, by chance did you take a video of the Dealer’s Room?
Please post it on You Tube Thanks David A fan of the Monkees and the Beatles for over fifty years 😎
Oh my gosh! Scarlett!! I forgot we sang at the convetion!!
Thank you SO much for finding this! I was the main camera person and editor at Baby Duck Productions. My videos have long gone I’m sure by now since they were in storage for so long. I am so stoked!!!
I was there, one of the best weekends of my life! Thanks for posting this.
Thank you for sharing the footage with me.
My mom is up there singing!!! I'm so proud... :)

Our "wilder" days 😉
So great to see all this video footage. I was there! That weekend was so fun. The convention miscalculated how many tickets were available for the concert that weekend. I frantically drove with a friend to the Greek Theater and we scalped a pair of tickets from the first people we met in the parking lot. BTW, the question Micky is reading at 35:54 is my question. Thank you for uploading this video.
Loved seeing Trina get up on stage, too!
I loved watching the convention video. I wish Michael & Micky would do a Convention in Missouri. You're always welcomed & LOVED here. Biggest Fan-Sue Beck ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
I think if I'd had a computer then I would have been there ~ thanks for sharing this amazing footage!
Oh my God. I was there. Flew out from Colorado and spent every last penny I had. Slept on the floor in a hotel room with 5 other people. Ran over to the Greek when we heard Mike was playing and crawled under a fence and snuck into the concert at the Greek Theater. Saw Micky and his then wife Trina at the Burger King across the street from the hotel after the convention appearance.I am 59 years old now, but will NEVER forget that weekend. I can be clearly seen at the 10:24-10:30 point, in the blue shirt holding up the Peter sign.
Wow! Great story. I was there too but didn’t see the show with Mike. Boo hoo. I was 19 then. I am 52 now. Best time of my life.
@@sshelget yes, it was a magical time. I'll never forget it. It was so fun and innocent. the girl standing next to me in the video was one of my best friends. she passed away a few years ago. I'd give anything to go back. You understand because you were there!
Very cool!!! How wonderful is this?!!
Micky’s the best!
❤️❤️❤️ You are God! ❤️❤️❤️ I have this sucker on cassette tape!
I have been hankering to see the video for quite some time!
Thanks this is great to see.
If you can find some more rare videos of The Monkees, it would be great. It would be a great tribute to them, especially Davy Jones (12/30/1945--2/29/2012) and Peter Tork (2/13/1942--2/21/2019).
Just watched the Monkees on MeTV!! Love em!! Rest peacefully Davy and Peter you are so missed😢❤
?my fav! Farm out! &hey! Hey!
Wow! This was awesome! Brought back so many memories! I remember going to this when I was 17, have some photos of the Micky talk and the Characters playing, and also a Davy talk but not this one in the red shirt. Did he also talk wearing a white shirt, and at some point he stood on his head? I think it was at this convention, I have photos of that. Perhaps I didn't go both days and the red shirt was the day I didn't go. Do you have any more footage of this convention? I was looking at all the fans, trying to see if I could see myself in the audience, ha ha, but wasn't able to. Would just love to see more crowd scenes, and especially any footage of the room with all the booths set up!
9/7/1986... I was born
Question, please:
Who were the gals who introduced Davy, and kept asking the crowd to relax, and etc.?
One of them sounded like Maggie McManus, from Trenton.
(The ones who introduced Rodney).
@Leslie Zimmer Thank you, Leslie!
😊
The accapella girls were good singer's.
Thank you!!
@1:18:37 🤣♥️
Stretched or cropped videos always get a thumbs down.
The original VHS isn’t the best quality either. But it’s better than nothing. 🙂
