Este sabado , en Caracas el dia 13 de Noviembre del 2021 será el RECORD GUINNES MUNDIAL CON 12 MIL MUSICOS DEL SISTEMA DE ORQUESTAS Y COROS JUVENILES E INFANTILES DE VENEZUELA. Esta será la pieza (Marche Slav) para la competicion.

Estaré a la espera de ese evento de Clase Mundial. Ese registro anterior, en poder de los rusos, será roto y el Sistema debería ir por otro mas...aunque no se que otros retos se plantean a las Sinfónicas mediante el libro de registros (records) de Guiness.

Serbo-Russian March. 🇷🇸🇷🇺
In June 1876, Serbia and the Ottoman Empire were engaged in the Serbo-Turkish War (1876-78).
Russia openly supported Serbia. The Russian Musical Society commissioned an orchestral piece from Tchaikovsky for a concert in aid of the Red Cross Society, and ultimately for the benefit of wounded Serbian veterans.
Many Russians sympathized with their fellow Slavs and Orthodox Christians and sent volunteer soldiers and aid to assist Serbia.
Tchaikovsky referred to the piece as his "Serbo-Russian March" while writing it. It was premiered in Moscow on November 17 [O.S. November 5] 1876, conducted by Nikolai Rubinstein.
The march is highly programmatic in its form and organization. The first section describes the oppression of the Serbs by the Turks. It uses two Serbian folk songs, "Sunce jarko, ne sijaš jednako" (Bright sun, you do not shine equally), by Isidor Ćirić and "Rado ide Srbin u vojnike" (Gladly does the Serb become a soldier), by Josip Runjanin - giving way to the second section in the relative major key, which describes the Russians rallying to help the Serbs.
This is based on a simple melody with the character of a rustic dance which is passed around the orchestra until finally it gives way to a solemn statement of the Russian national anthem "God Save the Tsar".
The third section of the piece is a repeat of Tchaikovsky's furious orchestral climax, reiterating the Serbian cry for help. The final section describes the Russian volunteers marching to assist the Serbs.
It uses a Russian tune, this time in the tonic major key and includes another blazing rendition of "God Save the Tsar" prophesying the triumph of the Slavonic people over tyranny.

I don't think there is a single human being without any organic response when listens to this entire song.
Man would you look at this orchestra!! They are just kids!! But what amazing and wonderful talent. Mostly today you see old people playing, but these kids have been taught well and how to play loud, just as the music was intended!!! I love it and a truly colossal performance. You can tell there were a lot of proud parents in the audience that evening, because Tchaikovsky's music is NOT easy to play!!!!

Venezuela has an amazing Juvenile System of Orchestras, it has helped get children away from violent gangs and into music. The school where I studied in Venezuela (from pre-school until I graduated high school) focuses on teaching the kids to play instruments and has a bunch of orchestras as well, I´ve played the violin since I was 7, and the Marche Slave was one of my favorite pieces to play during school :)
That's actually really amazing, I wish the US did that or encourged it better because there are so many children who could benefit from something like this or discover they have a passion or gift for music and never realize it. Places like Venezuela and Cuba are portrayed so negatively in the US but have somethings that are just done better and make so much sense, but are never or would be too hard to implement in the US.
Not really. Most of these kids are likely supporting their jobless parents with their music performance. The common people are starving in the streets because there is not food what so ever, while the higher-ups in government are gorging themselves and lining their pockets.

Bravo! If this is a "youth" orchestra, it sounds like an "adult" professional one. It's appropriate that they doubled the woodwinds (at least 4 each) and the brass section for this performance. Looks like they are ready to take on Mahler's symphonies like the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the (Venezuelan) Gustavo Dudamel. (Commenting from Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.)
la primera vez que escuché esta obra fue en un concierto de la orquesta de mi Universidad; iba sin falta a todos sus conciertos. Por la cuarentena, tengo meses sin poder escucharlos... Ojalá tengamos todos la oportunidad de escuchar obras tan espectaculares como esta en vivo cuando la pandemia acabe.

This is a dazzling performance by both conductor and the fabulous young orchestra. The conductor is never sensational and moves economically but what superlative playing he inspires from the band. They all deserve the ovation and appreciation of an obviously thrilled audience. Truly, truly remarkable.

Just incredible how these young people play; what a sound the orchestra makes and these young people all so comitted, playing with such vigour and enthusiasm. Yes, this is the power of music, and thanks to 'el sistema' (the Venezuelan social program for music education) this youth orchestra from Caracas sounds as good as any world class orchestra. 👍🎶👑👑👑

Más que el espíritu de Bernstein, el de muchos más: Aldemaro Romero, Inocente Carreño...y un largo etcétera, donde está el alemán Herbert Von Karajan, que ya son palabras mayores. Mejores "padrinos" no puede tener una Orquesta de Clase Mundial Hecha en Venezuela. Probablemente, en la Dimensión Desconocida, Don Piotr Ilich y Don José Antonio Abreu sonríen satisfechos.
It is very difficult for young non-Russian performers to play more emotionally than Russians.
But they played too well.
The conductor is excellent and the sound of young performers is excellent.

John Sessions that is a reference to the old tsar-hymn. Many people have used it in their music :) Gliere, Tchaikovsky etc.
It was used in 1812 overture but it's isn't actually FROM that its origin is the Russian imperial anthem "God save the Tsar", (tsar hymn) . A lot of Russian composers use it!
