Synister Gates is so underrated! No matter how much speed he brings he never loses the groove! I’m not saying he plays like EVH but for that reason he reminds me of him. The groove is never sacrificed

It's a powerful song composed by Lay and written by Chen and Chanyeol for their fans because of the scandals. Like members leaving, Baekhyun dating and media criticizing them.
Many Exo-ls were hurt by all the scandals and some even left the fandom. So this song is like a renewed promise/apology to the fans for breaking the "We Are One" promise with members leaving.
I think it was also partially dedicated to the 3 Chinese members that left EXO which made it even more emotional. This song also shows off their amazing vocals and rapping.
