    Thanks for making these videos Nick, no one in my family is a runner, a lot of the running knowledge I have is from you. I feel like I’m really blessed to grow up in a time where I have access to this whole library of videos on all sides of running. It’s really helped!

    Very sound advice. Personally I have two goals, break 40mins for the 10km, I’m currently at 40:50. Then run 3:15 at NYC Marathon in 2025. I understand to get that time at the Mara, I’m probably going to need to be able to run around 1:30 for the half. I’m at 1:33 and change. But the journey is fun. And that’s one thing that’s often missed with these goal setting acronyms. Fun. Have fun guys! Make friends. Make mistakes! It’s all part of it!

    Sub 3 Marathon!! At first this looks impossible, but as I ran more this starts to fall nicely with the SMART checklist. So I would add 'passion' before SMART

    I am a senior this year and I really want to break 50 seconds for the 400m this summer. I am really close. In 2019 I ran a 50:52. Unfortunately, 2020 was a bad year for my running and I slowed down to 51:83.
    How should I set intermediate tasks for such a big goal? My coach is always keeping track of my practices, but sometimes I feel like I do not progress from week to week. Can you really measure your level now when you are technically still building up your strength and stamina? Is there a benchmark I should achieve every month until July just to make sure I am on track or should I just trust the process?
    This is pretty much my last year to achieve this dream of mine. Any ideas would help a lot.

    Hey Nick, do you have any tips on how to get a good sleep before a big racing event. And also the effects sleep can have on performance

      Before a race it is quite hard to fall asleep but you should try getting good sleep one week before

    Hey Nick, what is an ideal race weight and off season weight for a 5k, 10k runner? I am 32 and 5' 7" and weigh 65kgs currently.

      Nick made a video about that. He basically said he never paid attention to those things like weight, BMI, vo2 max, and tried to just feel healthy.

    This is the video that I needed.
    I have a 300mH Race this Saturday and I was just doubting myself if I am going to able to qualify. But after this video, I’m going to be putting my ego aside and set a realistic and achievable goal. Thanks Nick!

      I like short, intermediate, and long term goals. They should all work together and build on each other!

    For realistic, Ive seen it used as 'do you have the facilities to do something' . Eg running a 4 minute mile is unrealistic if you have 20 year old spikes
