Thank you so much for all your tips! Question: I teach remotely. I have several students who leave my zoom to attend special classes (RR, Speech, OT, etc.) throughout the day. Is there a way to schedule my kids' pullouts with automatic reminders a minute or so before they're supposed to leave my zoom and include the zoom links directly to those students so that I don't have to manage it all? I've been setting an alarm on my phone and just telling the kids when it's time to go, but I'd like to find a way to just set it up automatically so I don't have the interruptions to my entire class. Thank you so much!
The interventions should be able to set up reminders in their calendar which the students would on their screens. The teacher could also be invited on that interventionist’s session, providing a pop up reminder visible to the teacher.
Again, your teaching is awesome. Explicit, anticipatory, clear. But at the moment it feels like so much time would be spent managing different calendars….it also feels like a never ending to do list. Just my take for the moment. I will continue to watch though because I do find these videos to be informative. Keep up the great work, I appreciate your commitment to the education community!
Hello! How do I change the color of events within a specific calendar using a laptop with no mouse and no right click opportunity? I have a MacBook Air and no mouse. TY!
I duplicate events to show on my Personal and Work calendars when they are "extraordinary" in some way (a late evening meeting, after school concerts, medical appointments that happen during the school day). That way, I make sure I do not schedule conflicting events.

I used Google Calendar for years but you videos helps me to level up my calendar management. The hack #10 is really cool. Thanks for the effort you put the videos.
Two things: First, shared calendars are SO helpful! When I taught in middle school, the kids would often complain that they would have 4 tests listed the same day. A simple 'Middle School Major Projects and Tests' calendar helped everyone see due dates of other big, gradable things, and helped people plan better to be more fair to the kids. Made several of my colleagues get really good at 'winning' desired test days by pre-claiming them :). This also helped me, a special ed teacher, see what was coming for my students so I could modify things appropriately in a timely way AND help them with pieces I knew would be tricky. And then 2, like I said, I teach special ed - my schedule is NEVER the same one day to the next! Putting each student's service time on my calendar helped me see who I had to prepare for next, which IEP meetings I had to be ready for and then attend... it's a tab I NEVER close! I learned a lot from this - thank you @pocketfulofprimary !!
With "hack 3" the only disagreement that I have, is that if you share a large number of calendars in a large organization (I have over 30 group and individual calendars), I recommend not altering the default colors -- here is why. When punching through multiple calendars, its too easy to miss something. Lets say I am used to seeing things for a particular team "blue" -- and as I scan through, I don't see blue, I would miss it.

I withdraw my students for small group tutorials from different classes. I have a shared Google Calendar that they use (View only option for them) to know when to come to my room. Makes it very easy too if there are schedule changes or updates.
Yes yes yes! This is pure gold! Definitely sharing this and the previous video with my teacher friends! I’m adjusting my calendar with some of the hacks as I am typing this! The creation of a goal is something that has been on my mind for a while!

Our school district has been doing this for several years, but never thought of a class calendar...great time saver instead of newsletter..
