asking my fave deck why it's been so "negative" lately

  • i'm sure you've been there too, where you're working with a deck and it's just negative card after negative card, seemingly bad news in every reading. i do my best to view all cards as equally as possible, but i'm only human and it's been causing a shift in my tarot practice. in this video, i get to the bottom of it and try to "make up" with my favorite deck, the haindl tarot.
i showed the bibliotech tarot which you can find here: www.etsy.com/l...
i also mention my recent video on my top 10 decks of 2023, which features the haindl, you can watch it here: • my top 10 decks of 2023
thank you so much for watching!!

This was a fantastic reading and discussion of your deck. The Haindl was my very first tarot-at that time all I had was the little white book to try and figure it out. When I was picking out my deck oh ages ago, I wanted a multi cultural deck and this deck has come through for me. I have since bought the books by Rachel Pollack that go with this deck and it's opened it up even more. I love this deck, when I do read with this deck I can't be rushed. I have to take my time with it.

wow that's so cool it was your first deck. the multicultural aspect drew me to the deck as well. i totally agree, working with it cannot be rushed. that is where i often find myself in trouble with it lol. and yes the books are amazing! i'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the reading, and to hear from another haindl fan, its such a special deck i love to share on the channel🍃🤎

This was so interesting! And I love the way you spoke to the deck. I do it too (we all do, I know) but on camera it's inspirational because I started doing it once and stopped myself thinking I must look crazy. But whoever says they don't talk to their cards is probably lying 😅

Just found your channel. Loved this reading so much! I loved all the fire energy and the association between destruction and creation. I feel like the deck answered your questions very clearly. I loved that!
I do have a question for you. I noticed that you pulled each card off the top of your deck every time you asked a different question. Or at least I think that’s what you were doing. Whereas I always shuffle my cards between each question. I’m just curious why you do it that way? I’m pretty new to studying the tarot, so I’m always curious about why people do the things they do.

ah, i'm so glad you enjoyed! yes, i'm very grateful for such a clear reading!
that's such a good question! i do sometimes shuffle in between questions, while other times i don't. lately i've been shuffling while i set my intention for the reading, saying aloud what answers/insight i'm seeking. i feel like there's a special magic in believing all the cards are in the right order already even if i don't know the question yet. i've found those readings to be very clear - maybe it's the increased trust i have in the deck/process? in the times i shuffle between questions, its more of a meditative thing, connecting the the deck as i determine where i'm taking it next. i might also shuffle in between questions when i'm taking my time to interpret each card while journaling, or some other intensive or creative processing - in those moments i think its a way for me to reconnect with the deck and the reading, as i said before. the decision i make on when and how many times during the reading i shuffle isn't very conscious, i try to follow my intuition, but these are the conditions i'm noticing now that i think about it. on a related note, most of the time i cut the deck in half, but there have been times i've felt compelled to cut it into three. i recently began knocking on the deck: knock and the door will be opened. all of these reading practices shift through time as my reading content and styles shift.
thank you for such a great question, answering it has given me the opportunity to reflect and understand my process better. hope it helps you also!🌸🌸

Loved this reading. I got the Haindl back in 1997 when I started using tarot but I must admit I've never used it much. I've always thought it has some of the most beautiful representations of specific cards like the Hermit and the Star, for instance. Anyway, now you've made me want to dig out my old copy and play. 💜

oooh i love that! the older printing is so beautiful, i hope you enjoy your time with it! i agree, the depictions stand out. and yes i absolutely love the star and hermit; the court cards are stunning, the bubbles everywhere, the layers of imagery. i'd love to know how you get on with it :) 🩵

@@everonward. Absolutely. I'll let you know. I'm in the middle of ordering the two books for it - used to have them but several moves later I apparently don't anymore. 😁💚
