  • 🇵🇱 Zamek w Szarogrodzie
    🇺🇦 Шаргородський замок
    Construction period: constructed in 1585.
Founder: Polish magnate, Chancellor and the Grand Crown Hetman of the Kingdom of Poland Jan Zamoyski.
    Historical note:
This two-level Renaissance tenement house in Szarogrod (Sharhorod, currently in Ukraine) known as the 𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘻𝘻𝘰 𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘻𝘻𝘢 constitutes a unique fortification. The city was established and the fortress built in 1585 by Chancellor of the Crown Jan Zamoyski. From the 1990s, it has been a private property. An old painting of Szarogrod can be found on one of the walls together with the year of construction "1585" and a marble board informing visitors: "On 28 June 1864, lightning struck the castle."
After WW1, the Polish-Bolshevik War (1919-1921) and the annexation by the Soviet Russia the castle began to fall into ruin.
Currently the castle is falling into complete ruin. The castle walls and the eastern tower were dismantled for building materials, only the badly damaged western tower has survived.
The “PL-UA. History by drone” project consists of 100 short film productions depicting architectural monuments that were created in the period of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The series of short documentary films were screened in Ukraine. A Polish-Ukrainian team consisting of historians, journalists, writers, non-governmental organisations and youth joined forces to create the films. Project was financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

Шкода що замки України занепадають, їх й так мало було.
