I was really impressed with the quality on Bluetooth vs RX on the Action 4. Thought for sure the Bluetooth connection would sound worse but it was practically identical. I think I may ditch my GoPro and get the DJI Mic 2 and Action 4. I make POV driving videos for my UA-cam channel and getting good audio out of a GoPro is super complex. This seems like a way easier solution to my problem. Great video bro!
Nice video my brother , My DJi mic 2 arrived this weekend and I haven't had time to make a comparison with the Hollyland lark Max regarding noise reduction, but I'm curious about it.
oh yea... i think i was supposed to get those little Larks, but i was out on vacation when they were supposed to launch so i havent gotten them yet, but i would love to test those out too... noise reduction is getting better and better! thanks for the comment, and would love to see your comparison
I’m often outside in the wind filming on go pros with media mods, the sound is good but sometimes the sound just doesn’t sound the same across all the cams I use. After watching how well the dead cats worked on the mics I think these would be perfect 👌🏼 Thanks and may the UA-cam algorithm bless you with tons of views 👍🙏🏼
great question, because what i noticed that the opera house sound was really good, and it was mainly because on my first video, i changed settings to show that you can change them lol and it was similar to your specs, i think i had +6db on both
Quick question regarding rhe pocket 3. I know that it says it can manage 2 microphones without an additional receiver. Have you tested it by chance? Im curious if i could just buy an extra microphone or if i would need to get the solo ome with a receiver. Always great to have you sharing this stuff.
Hey rivethead! yes i did a video a little bit back, when i used ohcolins mic so i had the dual mics going and worked great! ua-cam.com/video/oUZjLBAsXC4/v-deo.htmlsi=1eMQBS0IH2RSmyhn
I have done this on a live stream, dual mics, sounds great!! as far as live performance, if it was just using the mics, it would sound pretty good, i would be curious to see if you could plug in an output from a mixer at a low level to the mic input on the transmitter... (ill have to give that a try)
it is not waterproof (that wasnt your question exactly) but i dont know the weather rating, im sure light rain wouldnt ruin it, especially if the wind muff was covering the mic input port. I just would be careful with it
Great Job! UPS is supposed to deliver mine today 😊 How long until the Action 5? I love my Pocket 3. Like I need another gizmo, I gave up on GoPro's years ago. But DJI has made me want an Action Cam to match the Pocket 3. My other choice is a Insta360. FYI, I thought the receiver sounded better than BT on your Action4.
oh man... your saying action 5 and my brain is melting trying to keep track of all of these numbers next to products lol. I love the pocket 3 a lot, but that shot where i switched to my action 4 just in this video, i was like, dang that actually looked great just in the office. DJI is on the right track for sure!
@@DannyBlack I agree w/Tony Northrup, at some unknown date in the future, DJI is going to come out this a full size camera that looks nothing like anything else on the market, and disrupt the competition.... and send Sony, Nikon, Canon spinning... Case in point, my Sony ZV1 has 7 buttons & must have a 100 menus (I can't find anything, I hate it), the Pocket 3 has 4 edge swipes, maybe 10-15 menus, easy intuitive.
thanks mr Brown... yea one thing that i didnt really think i would love so much is just that new design where the mic wont rub on your shirt,, I used the mic 1 recently and had a lot of rustling and it messed up my whole recording lol going mic 2 from now on
Never said i was an audio professional... I just know what I hear, this video was done with the mics and compared to some others it sounded good. Ill have to look up curtis and see the huge issue he found.
just watched his video, i see what you mean about a little bit of digital processing through the receiver. While it hasn't really been obvious to me directly, ill listen a little more carefully (although it looks like a firmware is coming out soon to fix the issue)
The audio in the video is great and his test were practical + impartial. The mics performed exactly as advertised. Maybe instead of wasting a comment speaking on the “lemon” of a unit Curtis got, show us your video and testing?
I am using the mic 2 with a oa4, but the windreduction is not great. I make video's on my motorbike, and record sound in my helmet with the mic2. Noisereduction in 1080 is raisonnabel, but in 2.7 or 4k it is terrible. What is the noisereduction trick???

Congratulations on the 100k 💯 🎉
Can it be used wirelessly with the GOPRO 12?
My dji mic 2 transmitter only with bluetooth to insta460 x4, turned gains down to -18db and still getting popping and cracking sounds in high wind.

damn in the wind its sounds like shit
When you are far away, how still construction sounds are coming is it coz it's recording from camera and mic at same time?
Would love to hear how it sounds in the wind without the wind-muff, for comparison.
Such a great review! Because of you, I purchased this microphone!
What gain settings do you liek for iPhone? I find +7DB on both the Transmitter & Receiver are good. On the Mic 1 I like +6DB on both.

❤Eyy just noticed 100k silver play button ❤
Manifesting to have DJI mic 2 soon❤
👍
Awesome.. they are really nice and its going to be an interesting year to see what comes out!!!
That wind reduction test was pretty good. Especially with the mic shaking from the wind while you were on the boat. Great stuff.
Love it mate always great info and content buddy 😊
What camera is making all the moray if thats what its called on the steps? Sounds great!🎉
the camera was just my iphone 13 pro (at the steps)
Hey mate. Cool gear! Have you tested with live stream gig or recording same? Be interested to see how it performs with a live music performance.

Great testing, the new Mic 2 did pretty well. The range and wind reduction were very good, the new mic sounds great. Thanks for sharing.

@@DannyBlack Thata a huge feature, for sure.
Does noise cancelling work when connecting to action 4 via Bluetooth ?
yes it does. it basically works straight through the mic first.
Sounds great Danny, I got the single white one to test with my DJI Pocket 3.
oh youll absolutely love it with the pocket 3.. its actually pretty crazy (even with the action 4) just having a mic without receiver plugged in
@DannyBlack you're right, it's very nice without the receiver in the way.
Can it be added to a GoPro with a Media Mod?
yes it can, but only via the receiver and the aux cable in the mic input
Eyy❤
Great comparison! Good stuff.
Thanks Paul!!
Is it directly to go pro hero 11?
no it doesnt unfortunately, it tries to connect to hero 12 but doesnt
@@DannyBlack thank you so much for information :)
How about hero 11
still will have to plug that in via media mod (i wish i could just connect to it wirelessly)
@@DannyBlack I hope they will make a way to make your wish come true hehe
Obviously you don’t know about audio, Curtis Judge found a huge issue with it, but then again he’s an audio professional
