Kid did a great job. Way to come back and redeem himself. That was awesome
You got that right!
@@ErikCortinakids under 12 should get a handicap with a spotter next to him helping with corrections every shot. He was in a hurry, lots of pressure at that age. If his dad was next to him reminding to breath, stay focused and squeeze that trigger he would of had it. Reminds me of when I was that age, he’ll be a sharpshooter in no time.
I noticed the wind picked up quite a bit when the guy with the.223 started shooting. Great job young man. Proud of you 👏👏
I wanted to see him mag dump the targets and see how many hits he could get lol. Would've been an amazing sight
The 10 year old kid sure did well. Interesting challenge ,would be fun to do it one day. I'm amazed though that so many of these expensive guns have awful feeding issues though.
Mag tuning is underrated.
Mag tuning can be finicky, Not seating the rounds back in the mag well enough can cause issues as well
Fathers are underrated, no 10 y/o just goes out and does that. Awesome
@@ErikCortina I wonder if it’s more related to nerves of the operator leading to racking the bolt incorrectly. That was one thing that happened to me. Even though there really isn’t anything on the line, we are timed (and we lose all sense of 2 minutes so most shooters default to panic/rush mode). You can see that from most of the shooters from all the videos. Plus let’s be honest- every one of us feels a little heat shooting in front of a multiple world champion. Maybe not everyone will admit that.
@@ErikCortina Yeah, you don't see my AR10, or Tikka CTR doing that.. These are over priced POS, for the most part, if they feed like that..
That young lad inspires my hope in the next generation. Clear focused young lad, well mannered, humble, down to earth, respectful, extremely polite and well mannered. Real sportsmanship & a product of very good raising. That kid is liable to be the one making very wise choices in life years ahead of his peers...or hopefully that's what he and his peers are generally like.
I tip my hat to the young man & to his parents. To hear so many people saying "Yes sir" is utterly brilliant.
Then there's the other thing about great parenting...it's also about creating memories. The lad will have some serious life memories of having a go at a very challenging event with his father. THAT alone is solid gold, Father of the Year contender.
Well done Erik too, very much as expected you treated the young lad like an equal contender.
Respect shown, respect given back ten fold.
This challenge just gets higher in my estimation.
This is THE best TV Gameshow that's sadly not on TV. I bet there's a ton of people setting up the same targets at the same distance & trying it out. Thank Erik!!!
thanks for taking the youngings out and not being harsh ❤
The starship trooper rig was hysterical! Shooting blind folded, out of order, and every other target is an interesting strategy! Was like Peter LeFleur in dodgeball!!
Awsome to see the kid shooting with his father that's what it all about raising them right and always enjoy your videos keep it up
💯
Yes sir!
That kid did great. Great job by the kid for listening/practicing and good job Dad on the teaching/patience.
Impressive he had the guts to put himself out there. Lots of kids nowadays are petrified of stress and adversity.
I was impressed little man was able to get out there as quickly as he did. Every shot was there just off a little bit. Good job bud!
Heck yeah little man. We done. Way to run that bolt
This is my 5th video ive watched and i couldnt figure out why i seemed so familiar with Eric. Concrete! Its rare tonfind a guy that has improved me shooting AND my concrete skills! Double thanks!
Thank you.
Make a kids “division” and allow a spotter to help make adjustment calls. Props to kid for sticking with it
Great job young man, you struggled but you kept your cool and kept fighting !!!
Never give up.
Subbed Eric, because you're an awkward yet genuine bloke that strikes a cord with many of us long range shooters. Love ya work mate!!!
Thanks?! 😂
Erik. You ever wanna Scream “Do something different?”
Lol
Great job lil buddy!!
I’ve been waiting FOREVER!!!😂 this made my day lol
Very awesome seeing that 10 year old young man shoot like he did. Hang in there and keep learning bud. You will be unreal in a few years. Better have your dad start building your trophy cabinet.
Wow shooting it backwards does not let you see if your dope and wind calls are accurate. Nice job . Thanks Eric for all you bring to us .
Thank you.
I'm surprised at how unsmooth the feeding works so often.
You’re catching the vapor trail so well, it would be sick to see a frame by frame breakdown to see what’s actually happening in flight
I like shooting at 500yards with iron sights but the target is 24" and thats hard enough, i would not see those tiny targets with iron sights 😂
Great to see youngsters being encouraged to shoot, they are the future of our sport
All the Darth Vader dudes are holding their breath when squeezing the trigger 😂
Young kid can run that rifle. He is on his way to greatness.
Congrats Derek on winning with a Wolf Precision rifle! With the ACE system.
Brian Allen’s A-Teams precision is from the town next to! That’s awesome. I’m going to have him chamber my next barrel
Eric, Clark is coming for you watch your 6…. He’s a good Shot with that Platform. I’m only getting 6 moa groups outta my M40 copy at 500 with a fixed 10x Unertl Optic.
Man those rounds at 3013 are laser beams. Its a night and day difference from 2700 ft to 3013.
@@briancunningham3283 I have a 22bra that shoots the 85.5 bergers at 3000 and they are lasers as well
Is the plate rack down hill just a little? It seems like a lot of shooters start of impacting high. Some don't. Kudo's to the young one for coming out and shooting. Next time he'll clean the rack... 5.5 power ACOG and a .223 in that wind.... that's some cajones :) And not bad shooting...
Yes. Slightly downhill.
@@ErikCortina I figured. I got bit by that once (probably more than once but I was trying to show off when it bit the worst lol). I just watched the young fellow do a fine job of representing the shooting sports.
Good stuff Erik, really fun to watch
Thank you.
Great video as always love the channel
Glad you enjoy it!
I luv to watch youngins shoot they look so smooth and perfect when they shoot, he had a bad condition, but the posture was super luv it
What was his "bad condition"?
kid did great , i would like to try this
Even with an $8K rifle, you'll still be humbled.............................. keep'em centered !!
IMHO he shouldn't have played games. The guy clearly knows how to run his rifle...he was moving fast and making hits. Let the sassiness get the better of him LOL.
I notice that all those high dollar rifles have feeding problems.
I noticed that too, must be some tight chambers. great content! so the jerks that take pot shots at 800 yards at antelope need to watch and learn something!
isn't that a common 6mm Dasher problem?
@@ottokittel709 The 'jerks' will just blame their mistake on the gun, the ammo, the weather, but, never themselves...
My guess that rifle and optic is sitting around $9.5K, but only $800.00 in wife money😁.
Bingo bingo 😂
I really would love to see people try this challenge with factory rifles. Store bought hunting rifles.
That kids going to get good if he sticks with it.
How is it that iv seen so many custom rifles that don’t wanna feed on this challenge?
🤷♂️
Couldn't click fast enough on this video love this video and the Texas Plinking 1000 yd challenge.
Love the videos, wish I could shoot that far :)) One suggestion, add shot count to the video.
I’ll start on the 2” … oh wait.. thats harder than i thought… 😂
😂
The young kid did better than I prolly could.
Kudos to his Dad for getting him into shooting..
LMAO at Erik for trying to get the young man new rifle ..😅
His dad is a pretty amazing fella!
I watch Derrick and Shane on their YT channel. They definitely can shoot. And they definitely have some sweet rigs besides these 2 that they have here.
Thanks !!!! We have fun doing it!
que bueno la cantera si señor buen trabajo del chaval👏👏👏
Best and most entertaining challenge on UA-cam.
Thank you.
I wonder why none of the MDT Pros are attempting the challenge? They post all sorts of precision shooting videos. 🤔
They would do absolutely well at this challenge.
They're probably working. Just a guess.
They would make this challenge look easy..
Thats a shame some guys didnt se wich direction the dust blow thats your widage use it 😊😊
Hey credit where credit's due, kid got one on target. I feel like he wasn't being at all methodical tho...he was definitely in the neighborhood surprised he didn't walk it in.
Ohh nice mulligan!
All this money in these guns and so much trouble with the bolts. Also as many people can't see or judge their misses maybe they should buy better scopes but for sure the bolts suck.
I could hit ALL those targets with a Tomahawk!... Great vid brother!
You and me both! 😂
Lee has got to be from Louisiana!
22:30. Love the Area 419 brake. 👍
Kid did a lot better than I probably would lol
i'm wondering if some misses later in the string[ hot barrel ] cooking rounds in chamber to long. leave bolt open longer to cool. wait to chamber rounds
Nah, from experience I know that doesn't matter much. Rounds were not left in chamber long enough to matter. Barrel heat is not an issue on these rifles.
Rimfire challenge a possibility? You and i both know there's a ton of 22 nuts out there!!!
That kids reload speed though!
stay simple. don't run it backwoods. keep the mulligan option (everyone deserves a second chance). advice from an alcoholic. for what i am worth, i like your channel. if someone wins the jackpot, i hope they donate it. i do applaud the gentleman that did it backwards though. brave.
I decided to do it at 500m (video on my channel). The last target is the tricky one:).
Yeah, that’s the one that gets most shooters.
I see challenges like this and I immediately think I'd beat it easy. But then I remember I'm a normal ass human.
I love the BLACK JACK CHALLENGE
Thank you.
.223 in that wind Great job
Points for the junior😎😎😎
Any big bore guns try this yet or maybe do a big bore episode ? I’m temped to try this out with my 7mag I know I’d be humbled though lol.
I went on your website for the first time and saw your 6.5 needs more hoodies 😂
😜
14:58 Smart to start on the smallest and furthest target first before the barrel gets hot, potentially diminishing accuracy.
I thought so too haha did you see the group I shot! I know the first 5 missed but dang they all went in the same hole in the berm haha
@@averageshot Yes, that was amazing! You must've planned that!?
What is it with these feeding issues? Like none of these guys' custom rifles can cycle a round consistently??
These guys with the million dollar rifles need more practice..... Maybe spend some of all that money on some lessons???
Little MAN haning with the big dogs....
My guess is sixty five hundred for the fancy rig boy you sure could see that one guy struggling with that factor action compared to them custom actions.
Thanks for doing these
Glad you like them!
Mirage of the targets must have been getting to them.
It's time to have a "shooting with the pros day"
MDT
KRG
Piete
Adam
Gavin
Modern-day sniper crew
T3xas plinking
Any other i may have missed
1 MOA challange and the blackjack challange
Then run next door and do the 1 MOA/ .5 moa one with texas plinking
Great Vid Great Job EC 👍👍👍👍🎯🎯🎯🎯
Glad you enjoyed it
These guys with the AR platforms always show up ill-prepared. These forward canted bipod legs make me laugh so hard. The guy with the AR is trying to get so low I'm guessing he dug a hole in the ground with the bottom of the magazine. lol.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I was using a 20 round mag and have shot prone plenty to know what the better position is with that rifle. If you would’ve listened to the start of the introduction you would’ve heard why I was using an ar. Erik lives on the other side of San Antonio from me and I shot this after work so maybe I was a little unprepared.
Why has no one shot it backwards?? Smallest first less mirage surely😂😂😂😂 i wrote that before the guy at 15.05 started
Krieger barrel got it done.
Krieger or Brux. Bartlein is overrated. I have one in 300 PRC and it shoots horrible - have to order a replacement only after 400 rounds.
I’d say that fella has atleast 500.00 tied up in that rig we are supposed to guess at! 😅
At least. 😉
I do like the mulligans
My fellow Mainer’s!!
Wish I coulda shot a little better that day, but oh well. I see now I was high left, couldn’t see much in the mirage there that day
@@shanebell9589 wind look super inconsistent at time gusting steady then nothing definitely makes an already challenging shot even more challenging.. a Maine 500 might not be the same lol
@@jeffreypelletier7247 you may be onto something, looking at the footage me and Derick both seemed to be .2 mil high.
The bigest problem for a newby. is finding a 500m yds shooting range
Damn I wanna do this so bad...but being in Wa St im pretty damn far away...maybe do one at the rockchucker in eastern Wa and i can make it to a challenge..
Was there a rule change where you dont go to zero and restart after a miss? Either way, this is a great (and my ego says terrifying) challenge.
Yes.
To anyone wondering 500 yard stick is 457 metres.
Really wanted to see the 223 gas gun outscore all the custom high dollar bolts
Don’t hold your breath. 😂
that kid can shoot better than me. and I can say that with full confidence in my inability to shoot small things far away.
14:22 Rifle is worth $5,500!
So In a real tournament do the spotters hold your hand and say wrong target. Or do they just wait for an actual impact?????
Why do so many guys have a delay in cycling the bolt??? They pull it back, freeze for 2-3 seconds, then chamber another round… lol I always wonder why so many do this. Run that baby fast like she wants it!
Smooth is fast.
Fun afternoon!
Indeed.
Im guessing 12 grand for that rifle
im guessing 25k
Many have mag issues, poor feeding, why is this, badly tuned mag or is it just a problem with a not factory rifle? Never had bad feeding or mag issues with my Sako rifles.
His rifle costs no more than any other custom rifle you see at a prs match. Lol. 🙄 some of us put top tier glass on ours then they cost more. 😮
hang on..pause..pour drink just home from work. ok..play..🤣😁..that youngin not only can shot better than me but he's better at the 🐃 than I am too..✌🤣
😁
Awesome!
Thanks!
Dang the ar guy should've brought a ar10 over and not a ar15.
14:45 that setup is 15k easy.
If Erik had a dollar for every time someone said “this is harder than it looks”….
😂
See you all on the next vlog

Nervous breathing with the first contestant
Nice rifles 👍🏼
Thank you.
