- Southern California is known for some amazing burgers, but how does this one rank? After trying this burger at the Dog Haus, I just had to copycat it! The Dog Haus (doghaus.com/) has been ranked in the top 5 places in the US to eat, garnering critical acclaim and national attention for its signature all beef hot dogs and handcrafted proprietary Haus Sausages. Their burgers aren't bad either! I cooked this on my wildfireoutdoorliving.com/gri....

Here is the Sooo Cali Hot Dog Recipe Video: ua-cam.com/video/S2qgJ7Z2OZg/v-deo.html
You get perfect caramelization on your burgers each time and they look amazing! Aioli is great with garlic as well as with other additives such as curry powder, chipotle, and many other complex spices. You can really create delicious variations of burgers with just a handful of enhanced ingredients which makes this channel so fun to watch.
You must be one of the hardest-working, most consistent people on UA-cam. This and your main channel always deliver, and for how long you’ve been doing this? That says a lot. You should be proud!
Edit: grammar
I really appreciate that brother!
Wow!! This looks amazing. Whoever came up with using the Hawaiian rolls as a bun is pure genius!!
I want to try sourdough rolls!
A little squeeze of of a lemon, a little shopped coriander (Solantia?), really help to freshen up the Aoli
Thanks Greg! - As a teenager, I was in Bermuda, and ordered a "square hamburger" - I still remember it as being awesome, but not much more about it, other than it had a giant patty and was very filling and delicious. - Thanks for rekindling that memory! - Cheers!
My favorite late night binge channel for ideas for dinner :)
This reminds me of a burger I used to make. I used to be able to get a round focaccia with cheddar and jalapenos on top. I would make a large (1lb) patty, add bacon, caramelized onions and American cheese to the patty. I might have added more pickled jalapenos to the inside. It has been a long time but was a great burger. I cut it into quarters and my buddy and I would then enjoy
Sounds amazing!
Used to hit Nessy Burger in Vista CA on the way home from the beaches of San Diego it was always the highlight of the trip. Several years ago they moved to a more permanent location that wasn’t as convenient a stop for me
I am going to have to invest in a flat top grill for my dad. He watches your videos as much as I do and he gets so inspired by your copycats! Thanks, Greg!
You should add sausages/hot dogs to your channel once and awhile. That Pig Lebowski sounds fantastic.
Another great burger idea, thanks Greg!
I messaged Herds Burgers, asking what was up with the cheese not being put on the patty, they said there is no story behind it, that is just the way they did it since the beginning, but you can ask for it to be put on the patty and melted if you wish. I suspect back in the old days there was no real "protocal" when building burgers, unlike today, anyway cheers from Canada !! This burger also looks good !!
FUN!!! LOL.... I thought I invented this. Except I added siracha to the aioli. I love the videos. Keep rocking!
Oh hell yeah brother, and I can't believe the slider rolls have not been used like this or for hotdogs like your other video yet. Gonna be a viral tiktok thing you watch
Nice job Greg. I have to think your getting close to a copycat of my Molly Smashburger! Haha. Cheers brother.
I've been to Dog Haus. I love their dogs.
Juices ARE flowin!
Heading down the hill for some Kings😉 thanks Greg!
Enjoy, brother-Gary!
Nice Burger - Greetings from germany!
Eggslut has been using a grid of four King's Hawaiian rolls for sandwiches for the last seven years.
Sup Greg, garlic paste is like a gift of gods, way better than jarred minced garlic, used Hawaiian buns for sliders, the 4 together gonna steal that lol, like you said ' why didn't I think of that ' , agree Id add heat because sweet bun, but I'm a heat freak, showstopper burger bro, I like that. Tyvm tc 🍔
Works for me too, Greg. A very clever, novel spin on what we've always thought a hamburger bun should be. Looks delicious. Cheers
A very tasty looking burger. Cheers, Greg! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️🍔
Thanks for watching, Dwayne!
Great cook, Greg!
I love the connected Kings rolls. What a great idea!
Just put a harder cheese like some bleu, and you have pretty much a "french style" burger. Nice video, as always dude !
This is a really good one Greg! The bacon sprinkled on top of those onions was awesome. That's a Big Burger!! Cheers Bud!
FIY, aioli literally means, "garlic oil," in Catalan, as it originated in Catalonia Spain, thus, by mashing garlic with ev olive oil, you literally have aioli but it was widely used in French cooking and most likely became "paired" with mayonnaise there, as France makes claim to the origin of mayonnaise and when the mayo was mixed with the emulsified garlic, it was simply referred to as aioli and has "stuck" as such since.
I think I addressed that many people would not like the mayo mixture being called aioli in this vide. I simply replicated what the restaurant does.
Flagstaff, AZ has a Dog Haus.(forgot how its spelled)
I wonder if it's a franchise as well?
I've never tried their hotdogs, but their breakfast burritos were amazing! You could smell them a block away.
Very nice. Thank you.
Thank you.
Great vid 👍
I bought $$ that smasher Greg 👍. Stainless steel. About 3 years ago. Excellent. Thank you so much ❤. Cheers 🥂
I don’t know why, maybe it’s the Hawaiian roll bun, but my mind is going towards brushing the patty with hoisin sauce and serving it on a slice of grilled pineapple for an epic Hawaiian burger!
Wow, that'd be a winner in my book too, Greg! Tell ya what, I've been slappin' burgers just on garlic bread alone for the longest time! But next time I promise you I'm gonna slather my garlic bread with some mayo, caramelized onions and of course, bacon, lol. Can't wait to try it!
Sounds really good!
Good idea. Maybe try it with cheesy garlic bread. Now I want to try that.
@@billstout2118 Geez, I forgot the cheese, ha!
Will definitely be trying out those buns next burger night ❤
It tastes good and looks so darn cool!
Oh nice brother. Looking good!!!
This burger has everything I love...Its gotta be good
It's good, Michael!
Nailed it!!!
I keep the same brand of garlic paste in my fridge. It really rocks. ⬅ (King's Hawaiian Rolls are indeed too sweet for me.)
This wouldn't work with all burgers for sure. I'm looking forward to experiment with other rolls. Thanks for watching, John!
That's an awesome looking burger. I know it is a copycat but I'd rather have your burger than the restaurant lol
Any merch for your channel? Would love to grab some. Keep up the great work
Still working on setting up some merch. Thanks, for watching!
Gregg! you did those onions at guga's???? jejejeje
Too much garlic is not possible... thanks, man for presenting... Dog Haus Restaurants/Diners/Whatsoever are not available here in Germany... I like the recipe.
Hi Greg, it's Mike Florence and I trust you are well. Y'know, I keep wondering how can you keep coming up with soooo many great burgers over the years??? YEP, another great burger and the bun looks worth the trouble of finding. I'll be in the kitchen for this tonite!!! Cheers for now Greg, Mike.
Hi Mike! If your local store sells, King's Hawaiian Rolls, just cut four out and slice it like a bun! Cheers, Brother!
"Why didn't I think of that"! The 4 Kings rolls or as you said, any dinner rolls in 4s would be ok. The other take-away from your videos is the 'template' used to smash and form the burger pattie. /
I ripped that idea off of the Smashburgers burger joint. Thanks for watching!
Holy crap
Almost needs a square Wendy's style patty
🙂👍🥂
An Aioli is technically a Mayo on crack. A Mayo pimped with garlic or more. I don't think you said anything wrong about it ;-) Maybe a Mayo could be offended by that, but did you hear a Mayo talking to you? 😆
Mayo is basically oil and eggs. Don't see the issue with using it to make aioli.
I just use Hellmann's new garlic aoli. It does the trick for me.
It shouldn't be an issue... But alas! The internet!!!
As an Australian I notice most American burgers have no substance. Bun, patty, sauce, onions and bacon? That's a wee snack mate. Where's the other ten ingredients!
I've said it before, I'll say it again. Give us a burger book, please. In exchange I will give you money for it.
I've been writing. I have around 70 burgers in recipe format right now... Just need to wrap it up and see if I can get it published!
@@BallisticBurgers I'd even buy a pdf, if publishing doesn't satisfy what you have in mind. Other than George Motz you're my only other source for burger related information. So for my selfish reasons and to support you: Wrap it up, my friend.
