Not ganna lie but i'm a bit jealous of Matthew's ability to sleep deeply pretty much anywhere in any situation on command. I travelled Thailand pre cov times and it was very busy with backpackers. Koh chang and some smaller towns and rural places didn't have many backpackers or tourists so it just depends on the places you go and koh lanta might just be one of them quieter resorts. I went to Koh phangan during full moon party and it was just rammed and draining for me and wasn't my scene so afterwards i went to koh samui to find some calmness to re-energise.
This is hands down my favorite series on your channel! Seeing Thailand from your experiences is just incredible. I’m so happy you’re documenting these experiences 💛
why do i see you everywhere?
At some times of the year, in certain areas of Thailand, there are plankton that float around and can sting and make you itchy… I think those planktons can also glow at night in some places which I was lucky enough to see on an island called Koh Prah Thong between January to March-ish.
You have so much potential with mauythai! As I used to practice it myself, your form was good!! Love to see you have fun and try lots of things here in Thailand.

Heading to Thailand the start of June and really enjoying this vlog weekly! Can I ask if you have any tips to keeping your valuables safe while swimming? It's always sometime I'm nervous about when travelling solo
this is such a dilemma for me too! my advice is to take as little valuable stuff as possible and to be honest, i just put it in a corner and keep an eye on it 😅 it's not the best solution but i've been ok so far *touch wood*!
oh and you can also get towels not with little hidden pockets in the corner, so that may be worth looking into!

Hey Holly I’m from Australia and I think those things that were stinging you might have been sea lice as we sometimes get them here at the beach where I live, they are totally harmless though. ❤️🌊🏝

I got caught in a monsoon in Thailand and my passport was in my bag (I was on an internship for uni and was told I had to always have it on me). It got semi ruined. It was the first time being abroad without my parents therefore the first time I was responsible for my passport (I was 21 at this time and last time I went abroad I was 15). So explaining that to my parents was an event, though they found it funny 😄. I couldn’t exactly control the weather, and rather not get in trouble by not showing my visa.

think the stinging might be sea mites they're really small and hard to see and I think they're quite common in Thailand
Casually, I recently read an article about how ocean plastic pollution (amd sea pollution in general) is getting worse day by day in Thailand, being one of the top plastic dumper countries in the world (and one of the top single use plastic consumers as well), and how this is affecting the whole world's marine ecosystem... Have you noticed any of that in your trip?? (apart from the green water 😅) And any thoughts on the matter?

Theres sea lice that can make you itchy (are actually jellyfish larvae stings that form a rash after you swim in the ocean)

The stinging stuff is called "sea lice". It's basically jellyfish larvae. It's quite common in the Andaman sea, surrounding Malaysia and Thailand, and not at all toxic, though very irritating.

I think you'd be really good at Muay Thai if you stuck with it! Even if just for the physical benefit and no actual fighting! Also, really enjoying this series 😁🙌🏻

Just be careful buying cheap sunglasses in Thailand, they may not have any UV protection so could be damaging to your eyes as your pupils won’t dilate and so will let in more light😅
