Thanks for your review, Kentucky Yankee! Based on your take, I have put one on my KLX300 (not SM). It is transformative on the road. Takes the cold wind off of your chest and makes the KLX a much better street bike. It is thick and the mounting is rock solid, so it will surely take some whacks which I'll eventually give it. I am disappointed in the clarity of the plexi, though. It's about the worst I've ever seen. But your view is over it anyway, and I think this is a function of it being so hefty for durability. Now, before all you other KLX dudes and dudettes go out and get one of these on your "regular" KLX, you need to understand that this shield will be in the way while standing on the pegs on single track where the angle of attack changes wildly. Standing up on dirt roads and jeep trails is fine, but if you climb something really steep, it could easily hit your chin. Conclusion, it great for a KLX non-SM if you are not doing technical single track. Highly recommended. It looks cool too. Also, you can take it off of it's mount pretty easily for the day or whatever to convert back to being single track ready. I can see me taking it off for particular rides. Thanks again, Kentucky Yankee.
Outstanding!. I am going to buy a 2023 KLX300SM in April 2023. Being from Canada I only having a riding season of about 6 months in the summer/fall (6 months winter no riding). I found the T-Rex site a month ago and was planning to buy the windshield as my first accessory and then add panniers before doing some long range tour riding in the summer months (July - August). If you kit this bike out properly there is no reason why you can't do any tour riding. Top speed of the KLX is not an issue here in Canada as the speed limit on our highways is 60mph.
After installing one on my KLX300SM I am very happy with the results. It makes highway rides much more comfortable and for some reason just having the windshield makes me feel a bit safer and less exposed.
They are Hepco Becker bags, I bought them through Motomachines , they are mounted on dirt racks. I have a video of installing the rack. I don't recommend these bags, they are high priced and not great. Also not thrilled with Motomachines.
Kentucky, at :48 you said they're zinc plated instead of the beautiful stainless steel. Would you go back and replace those size bolts at the bolt dealer to get SS instead. At the same time at 1:40 you are dismayed at the bolt sticking out. Would it be worth replacing those bolts with shorter SS bolts. I bought the same thing (had it shipped all the way to Canada), and wondered your thoughts on these two subjects before I begin. I see T-Rex Racing also recommends a technician be employed for installation, but I'd still rather give them proper SS bolts before they start. It looks awesome. We made a great buy.
How much of the bike is stainless steel? And what type of stainless? The frame is not stainless! You’re being a little anal about stainless steel bolts.
Awesome! I'm just as surprised at a functional handlebar/fork mounted windscreen. My thinking has been, if it's not fairing style where the windscreen/headlights stays stationary, it's just not worth worrying about wind protection.
won't work with risers without modification. i'm using 7/8" risers, I used the lower bolt on the forks to mount instead of the upper and a little bending i was able to get it to work. the Acryllic is so thick, it picks up light from my headlight and makes the sides of the windshield glow at night, kinda cool. imo i think the Zeta Windshield mount was better but the brackets for it swung so wide they hit your brake master and other stuff, didn't leave any room for allowing you to attach stuff to the stock bars. also had to use risers to lift the windshield off of the stock bars to get it to work. I think if they zeta windshield used the center mount trex made, but w zetas windshield and mounting bar, would be the best.
That windshield looks great. What are the measurements (length & width) I’ve been looking for one for my 2014 KLX 250 s which I got 2yrs ago. This would likely fit.
I went with the Zeta Adventure Screen because of the center bar to mount my GPS. I do have the T-rex Racing skid plate, and their handguards which are much better than generic fit guards.
@@timtaylor8557, you aren't looking hard enough. They make this screen for several Kawasaki models. I bought mine from webike out of Japan. Cheaper overall cost and got it in 3 days. You might have to chose the 250 but they are pretty much the same bike except for engine bore.
@@kentuckyyankee Thanks for the reply, appreciate the feedback! I have a ‘21 klx that I commute with that I’d like to improve upon, and this looks like it’ll do the trick.
I love the design and I think it's a quality product with nice bracketry, but I can't get over the look of it. It just doesn't look right. Maybe if they had one in a light smoke color.
I highly respect a man that loves stainless bolts as much as me😂
I have about a month on the trex windshield, recommend 💯. I have several 300 mi trips on my KLX300 with that windshield and highway miles are pleasant
What a great endorsement. I don’t even know why I need one.
😂😂
Thanks Pal, I just ordered one for my KLX300 24'. It should be here this weekend
@@pnwguy221 They're really good. I like how sturdy they are.

Where did you get the bags on the back?? I just bought a 2023 and am setting it up. Thanks for the video!

Nice! I'm looking at getting this to protect a 7" nav / Android tablet. Happy to hear it's not junk!
I like it, but I did order a deflector just to see if it would help a little more but I'm just experimenting now the shield is great
hehehehe "bunny". I like the shield!
Thank you! Works really good!

SS and the correct size is the best option but the way I did it is fine to depends on personal preference.

I was pleasantly suprised!!
I am guessing this won't work if you have an aftermarket handlebar and bar clamp like the Tusk Chub bar with the 7/8 to 1 7/8th adapter?
Could the top brackets be bent down a bit to fit the mounting holes if you are running 20mm risers?

The manufacturer does not show this screen available for Kawasaki.

What happened to the Honda Monkey Z50?🤔
The boy out grew it before I got it done, that's why I have the GT80 he rides that one
Which size windshield did you get?
Biggest one they offer.
How is it, now that you’ve had for a month?
Same it's a good windshield I would like it a little higher but it's good went to FL and back with it.
