But at the same time didn’t really seem to know who Dennis was and how much he knows about these cars. That’s nice to see - shows he was a stand-up guy wanting to see the best for his beloved car. That sure is a thing of beauty 👌🏻
Yes sir. It’s good to talk w/ folks that have the skills & actually worked their own cars. Blood, sweat & the tears instead of a guy that wrote a large check & doesn’t know anything whatsoever about his car or truck but enters into local car shows & *steals* a trophy.
I used to watch these videos with my dad before he passed and I know he would've been texting me about watching this one given the split window. I had a model of one in my room as a kid and still have it on my desk to this day. Watching these always brighten my day.
Cool story. My Dad had a 77 when I was a kid and I bought an 88 when I was 19. Lost him in 2017. Don't have any hot rods atm but looking to build something my 14y son and I can build. Sorry for your loss Bro!! 😎
Now you can watch them with your son and make more memories, if not a nephew…. If not a kid in the neighborhood. My neighbors teached me a lot about cars so now I pass it on onto the neighborhood kids whenever I can.
I'm a lifelong Ford guy and have owned, built and loved them all. Have owned six different mustangs but who can't love and appreciate a 63' split window Corvette. Great find Dennis, a truly beautiful and very loved American classic sports car. Always a gentleman to everyone and so very blessed because of that, it takes absolutely nothing to be nice to people.
As a sixteen year old, an acquaintance/friend had a silver 1963 split window coupe that I could have bought for $1,700. This was about 1970. My dad wouldn’t have anything to do with it and sad no. I’m sure I’d still have that car today if I could have just convinced him to let me buy it. A Mid year corvette has yet to be in my stable and I’m going to change that at a much higher cost than back then. Great video Dennis and gang.
Thank you, Dennis and Coffee Walk crew! Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend as we remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can be free. And appreciate those who have served and are currently serving in our military. Thank you!
By far my number 1 choice Corvette model year. That split window is just an amazing look. Unfortunately I will never own one but can live my dream through you Dennis
My Dad has a 77' Vette that he's been working on restoring over the last couple of years.. It truly is a labor of love.. Beautiful car and really liking the black on her.. I grew up in Wisconsin and wish I could go back in time and saved all the old cars we ruined .. Great vid Dennis.. Hope you guys feel better..
❤❤❤❤❤ Absolutely gorgeous!! Considering the era it was built and the technology available at the time, this is a TRUE WORK OF ART!!! A Masterpiece of Perfection!!
My dad had a 63 that he bought new. I still have a few memories of the car and riding in it. The only time he took the top off was when I bugged him to go for a ride. It also was a Saddle/Saddle car.
That Muncie is smooth. What a beauty. I agree Black is King. My brothers high school friend had a 67 427 tri power conversion roadster. Didn’t get to ride in it much but I can still feel the Gs as he dropped it into 2nd Great Job people thank you
The prior commitment he had for not joining Dennis for lunch was probably the sick feeling in his stomach.I have a few cars I've sold long ago I'm still sick about.
I thought it was pretty cool when you were up in River Falls to buy the Jeeps late winter early spring. Even cooler to have you back when it's green and beautiful here in Wisconsin enjoy watching your coffee walk. All the information and facts that you have locked away in your Automotive gray matter. And when you were up here for the Jeep purchases you could have gone to Pier 500 inside outside in the igloos they have out on the patio for winter to show how the rest of the world we do it in the North! I live within 9 miles of River Falls and less than a half to a mile away from Pier 500 great to have you in our area. There's a lot of car nuts up here oh, that use the winters to build and restore classic cars!
Dennis, Another iconic find ! I would put this car as # 3 ! Number 1 has to be a 1968 Shelby GT500KR, Number # 2 is the 1969 Camaro ZL1 & the 63 Split Window Corvette # 3, not to worry about the color change, still a significate find, even better if it was a fuelie ! Number # 4 most iconic is a 1970 Hemi Cuda.
Dennis hope you’re feeling better. What an amazing Corvette. I loved hearing it and the owners were such a pleasure, the slicks poli glass tires and wheels the hood two thumbs up. What a treasure. Love y’all.
Love what the whole back story about when the guy bought the car converted it to a big block then drag raced it then brought it back to pretty much factory so much hard worked hours into that car that i can not even imagine the time let alone the money put into it What a gorgeous looking Split Window ABSOLUTELY Love it and on top of it being from Wisconsin (born and raisedmy self from South Eastern Wisconsin) exspecially the location in Wisconsin
Absolutely my all time favorite car. I'd take an original '63 Split Window Corvette over any car ever made in the world. Never driven one, but I've been in love with this car since the 70s when I neighbor down the road from me bought one used.
100 percent cent , same here..just love em..lm australian so no flag waving either..the classic e type jag is a pig compared to the split vette in my eyes.
Get well soon old man. I'm an old man too. 50's. Great car. Enjoy the end of show segment, restaurant walk also. Always makes me hungry though. You guys are very good people. You, your daughter and the the guys that work for and with you. "Outstanding". Best wishes.
Possibly the first time I have seen a seller totally unfamiliar with Dennis. The car was worth the trip; the owner wasn't kidding about the C-2s not being highly collectible in '68. I purchased a BB '67 Coupe with 18K in 1970 for $4200. Hope you all got well quickly!
Still amazes me to this day how the price of 1963 Splits has risen... They used to be so cheap in the late 70's compared to say a 1967 Big Block Coupe.... Just an Iconic American Classic ! Thanks for posting Dennis and Crew !
Dennis . Hope you're back on track . I have always held the split screen as an equal to the "e"type . In many ways they are very different but the '63 is a beautiful lady . And l know you hold the "e"type with very high regard . Thankyou Dennis .
the editing and video is always dead nuts on like dennis colins insane knowledge of most make modals and years thanks for the content again always enjoyed
56’ convertible red with white sides is it for me but it’s hard to go wrong! Second is ‘68 convertible red with black interior! Thanks for sharing these beautiful cars with us!!!
Born and raised in River Falls Wisconsin, I graduated from high school in 1965 three years before this gentleman. Went to college there, left in 1969 and joined the army and was stationed in California. I discovered that winter was optional and never returned to River Falls other than for the occasional class reunion. It was a great place to grow up in the mid-to- late 1960s.
Great episode Dennis and team, as usual. Zacks filming just seems to get better and better, in your car finds. Yes, I agree the most iconic American sports car. But you're the expert. I hope you guys are feeling better now.
I would certainly say yes it’s one of the most iconic. Not a corvette finantic but I do love anything beautiful and authentic for what it is and this thing is beautiful.
Back in June 2020 I bought my uncle's 1966 427 4 speed convertible with optional hard top. It was his second C2. It is my 4th Corvette and my absolute favorite. Great find on your split window.
Wow, what a find and the kind of history I like that comes with. Even though it went through some changes and used as a racer at the track (Senior son of a drag strip Dad here), I'm so glad he restored it back to as stock as it could get. Just wished he had set aside the original numbers matching engine, but at least a code correct one was found and it sure sounds fantastic. Not sure if you (Dennis) liked the shift knob but it sort of was a cool idea and looked pretty classy! Bet that white knob is back on already. Sorry you didn't give us the food review as usual. Not sure how to interpret that but maybe I do? But it's all about the CAR here, so Congrats on this find!
first thing i seen plenty of the original intakes out there ,im sure there were more back then ,all that aside if you were just going to go with an after market a simple Performer RPM would of been a better pick
I like the colour change to black with the original tan interior. I live in Winnipeg there is a nice original stock white 63 here. 95% mint condition nice car just to even see.

Hey Dennis I have a good friend who lives in Arizona he has a 63 vetted which he has loved for as long as I've known him 30years I guess time flies he watches your channel so he will enjoy this one .Feel better mate Cheers Kym Adelaide
I was a little kid when those were new, I always thought that split window was the coolest thing. Ten years later I saw a magazine article hating on it. Didn't change my mind.

Well Dennis, finally a running, absolutely perfect car and my favourite, a CORVETTE. The bonus a 1963 and another favourite. Beautiful in black. The gentleman you Purchased it from was a perfect caretaker of the Corvette.
No doubt the most beautiful car CW has had. Unbelievable. Dennis I’ll buy lunch if you come pick me up in that car. I would love to take a ride in it. Just beautiful
The c2 Corvette is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful cars ever made. The c2 vette, Jaguar E type, and Lamborghini Muira are my 3 all-time favorite looking cars. I can't pick one and say which one is the best.
Stunning! #1 take away, if you are going to color swap! Black is the only color that is acceptable and it better be stunning! What a beautiful car running & driving or history & looking!
I got to see a 63' brand new with sticker still on the window. My neighbor across the street was a Chevy salesman. He brought it home to show the neighborhood. White with red interior. Side pies and knock offs.
Never any new Vettes in my built-in-1965-neighborhood that I could remember as a 1966 child, but these people who moved in around the corner in the late '70s had a probably '66 or '67 convertible or roadster in Lemans Blue, and with the hardtop. In the slightly nicer and newer part of this neighborhood lived an Oldsmobile dealer, and his driveway was the first place I ever saw a Toronado XS - I remember slowing down on my bike, to gawk at that crazy wrap-around backlite.
My family home as a kid had a pit in the garage for doing stuff like that, but it was originally for food storage I think. But either way it was very handy to work on cars and do oil changes. This was also in Wisconsin.
I absolutely love how much the seller knows about his car and how up front and honest he is about everything. You can tell he really loved it.
❤ This comment just 1 correction - Loves it*
Love this Man
I was surprised he was not emotional about selling it. Maybe he put on a good face! If I was selling my 69 BBC I would be in tears.

He's never going to find my car 🚗.
@@onesri6108 He just might and pay you what you ask for.😊
I think people respect him so much many find him.
Take months & months to put together these deals.
@@michaelmaas5544 Absolutely agree, his reputation precedes him.

Got to love that comment when Dennis asks can we hear it run " Oh hell yer " 🤣Stunning car and black is by far the best colour for these 😍
“Zach I think we need this!” 😁 ‘63 is my favorite year. It’s really awesome! Thanks! 👍
Love ‘63 split windows. Great find! Great show! Thanks Dennis for taking me along. 😎
You need to keep this one. Absolutely stunning

Excellent edit for sure. I was born in 63 and this is my favorite car for sure.

Just hearing Dennis run through the gears made me smile. Fantastic car.
That JAKE is a superman! He not only tapes from inside the car, but runs the drone at the same time 1 .........MAGIC!
Always great to see you pick up a mid-year. We've had our '65 Coupe for 25 years now.
YES - that model = to me is the best all round high performance car - sports car really great = thank you Dennis = champion !
That must have been bittersweet after all those years...what a great car!

You are living the dream. Congrats on a great buy. Love the engine sounds during the test drive.
Top 5 favorite cars. No other car looks like a split window corvette. Amazing! 💯👍👍
The 63 Corvette was always my favorite and when some guys started cutting the rear window up I told them they would regret it. Great buy and video.

L76 - same long block as the fuelie, with the solid lifter cam - only with a holley and aluminum intake.

Hi Jan, this Mike, the seller of the 63. Yes I truly had an L88 427. Hard to find yes but I had one.
So as for the weight, when I put the big block in the front end was lower then the back end. I couldn’t have that.
Best regards, Mike
