Awesome video...I live in Boise, and constantly drive hours to fly fish - The south fork, silver creek, Big Wood, Owyhee, etc etc and videos like this remind me how silly I am for ignoring the water right in my back yard. Definitely going to pick up that Firefly bundle.
Right! We are so blessed with this amazing opportunity right in town! However those other streams are very fun to fish as well, they are all special in there own ways
Absolutely a great video and information Grant. Thanks for sharing. Sorry I’ve been away a bit. Just ordered some Simms G3 waders for summer and will be out on the water again soon. Stay safe man.
Thanks for sharing! Good stuff! Those flies are money flies for trout for so many locations. Love the sculpin patterns, too... Many of your flies appear to still be barbed; curious why you don't pinch the barbs? For me pinching hooks is pretty much a gotta do any more.
Great video. You’re opening scene was so funny. I have seen fly fisherman be so rude to the beginner fly fisherman. I need to buy me a fly pole. I want to learn how to use streamers.
Hi just out here vacation and from Texas. I like fishing videos yeah I like to share what bait your fishing cause if I am catching fish I want some body to catch fish. Especially if they havent been fishing and it's there first time
Have you ever tried fishing at the spot right below the ID-21 overpass or right below the lower dam in that area? I'm using every fly in my box and nothing ever hits even though fish are jumping all over the place. Seems like the fish up there are pretty dang picky.
Definitely bro! Lots more pressure up there so fish can be more picky! However through a jigged pheasant tail at them and an olive bullet 💪🏼 euro nymph there as well
Do you have a link for the Thompson fly co? I like to support local, especially a kid, and would appreciate it if you could link it here! Did a search, can't find anything...Great videos, btw!!! Subscribed!
Hey man I just started and I’m fishing the Boise river in star id like some help on what to use it just rained and it’s cloudy so can you give me some ideas (I subscribed)
Thanks for the info. I'm and very new at it. I've been using zebra's and pheasant tail. I I did catch a rainbow at Star road and the Boise River but other than that I don't know where to fish.
We’ll, I know this is not in between the Boise river float areas. I fish Eagle and Meridian road often, only small ones. Happy to buy you a beer and talk fly fishing 🤙🏻
I have just started fly fishing and love it! But I haven’t tried the river yet! You give me the courage to try! Thank you!
Thanks, great info and fun to watch. Just up in the area visiting and walking the Boise turning over rocks to look at bugs.
Great!! Best of luck to you, fishing should be GREAT 👍
Im going to start fly fishing, lots of great information here!
Good luck! Thanks so much!

Most the flies I buy in store are already barbless however sometimes they aren’t and I always forget to look😂
Great video. You’re opening scene was so funny. I have seen fly fisherman be so rude to the beginner fly fisherman. I need to buy me a fly pole. I want to learn how to use streamers.

ua-cam.com/video/-uCbTU0VD4c/v-deo.html This video was at that spot, check out the nice bow we pulled out of there.
What part of the Boise do you recommend?
Suck it snobby fly fishermen! hahah...just kidding. Great info Grant!
there is a significant amount of investment will all those flies, a video on how not to lose them would be awesome
You are speaking the rookies language bro
Do you have a link for the Thompson fly co? I like to support local, especially a kid, and would appreciate it if you could link it here! Did a search, can't find anything...Great videos, btw!!! Subscribed!

Cloudy and raining conditions are the best times to throw larger streamers and wooly buggers for bigger trout!
ok the cool extra is knowing where you put that camera
Awesome!
Thanks!
I was gunna say u usually never use streamers but nymphs work so well u really dont need them haha
You do well for the vendor cause you can't just find that fly easily so I'm goings to the venor you listed
Daddy Grant showing us how to catch straight logs
Hahaha thanks bro!!
Hey, I checked the comments… I didn’t see a link to Thompson’s “Fly Co.” How can I email him? Thanx
He’s on instagram! Under thompson_flyfishing
What dry flies would you recommend on the Boise?
Depends on what time of year but it's best mid till late summer for Pmds size 18-22 and caddis size 16-20
Ok thanks so much!
I love you
Thanks for the info. I'm and very new at it. I've been using zebra's and pheasant tail. I I did catch a rainbow at Star road and the Boise River but other than that I don't know where to fish.
I live by u so I love u
Right on 😂🤙🏼

I’ll be back in boise October 1st, maybe I run into you and if not keep in touch through my videos, maybe we can grab a beer🤙🏼
@@FireflyFishing Right on. Oct is always a mix of fly fishing and hunting.
Anyone who roasts someone for using a squirmy wormy doesn't want to catch a lot of fish!
Agreed!
