    But even in concept, to see how stealth affects the outcome is incredible. He has arguably a better radar, had better resources, twice as many missiles and I think even more than just twice, and yet in those final critical moments where it was essentially a fair joust, his missiles lost lock, and yours didn’t.
    There’s something to be said about modern tech and sheer firepower.
    But in the end we figured it out over 20 years ago. Stealth is clearly what gives you the edge in the air.

    • @corybrown2197
      @corybrown2197 Рік тому +1

      @@recoilrob324 well he’s also defending. The farther away you are the harder it is for the missile to maintain lock and hit the target.
      There are certain ranges where it should be a sure fire kill. Unless you can break the missiles lock and it loses you for even a split second, which can cause it to miss. But at that range and altitude there was nothing he could really do. Maybe if he was lower he could force the missile to hit the ground as it tried to lead him, but he was too high, and at that range there’s no time to defend properly.
      In fact if GS wasn’t in a raptor it’s likely he would have been hit in that last engagement too. It would have been a trade.

    • @TokinJesus
      @TokinJesus Рік тому

      Radar-guided missiles, use radar to locate their targets. While flares are useless against this technology, radar is vulnerable to a type of active decoy known as chaff, which consists of tiny strips of aluminum or zinc that the aircraft releases in large bunches. These metallic clouds appear as separate targets to the missile’s radar and ideally confuse the missile, thus permitting the aircraft to escape.

    Seems to be a misconception amongst the airheads that the EX is a revamp of the Strike Eagle. But that's far from the truth.
    The F-15EX is actually an amped up version of the F-15C. But with the added ability to carry a ton of missiles.
    The EX is to the F-15C what the SuperHornet is to the Hornet.
    Better Engines
    Better Radar
    Better AoA
    Better Rate Fight
    Better Maneuverability
    Better Payload
    Better RCS
    It's just a juiced up F-15C and that's a terrifying prospect considering how good the C was.
    I would like to see GS fly the F-35 in this scenario and see how well it does.

      I dont think it is modelled properly. Sadly the same thing about the ships. If you launch anti-ship missiles, ships should also jam + launching decoys.

      @@ObiWanShinobi917 No, the Super Hornet is around 0.1 square meters. The legacy F-15C is in average around 11 square meters. Surely the EX had some "have glass" type improvement in that field but I don't know any detail. I would be surprised if the RCS was reduced under 3/5 square meters. RAM materials alone can't do miracles and square angles are impossible to correct

    The first missile- did you delay firing until the F-15 locked you up knowing that he couldn't fire before then, so that your missile had the advantage of getting closer, and you counted on having an easier time evading his missile because your radar signature is so small?
