Just catching up on some of these earlier videos. I think someone already mentioned this, but man, this seems like a seriously colossal mod. I mentioned earlier somewhere about getting to a comfort level with mods so that it is easier to do. I'm not sure though that I would have the guts to jump into this one. Seeing the types of mods you have done, and then seeing you jump into this one fearlessly is inspiring - serious respect for you...some very funny dry wit to go along with it. Keep the vids coming...
Adding a turbo was quite the hefty project. But I would say 80 percent of it, is just unbolting the old stuff and installing the new stuff. And the other 20 percent is doing things that require a little more knowledge than a simple bolt on.
But installing it definitely taught me many more things that I have never done before.
I've had my eye on that kit for a while now! Really exciting for that initial start up! Can't wait to hear how things are going :))
This was definitely worth all the effort! But was a little pricey!
@@BrandonStellmach what did u choose for the dropdown menus?
@@henrytzul-lacan1627 I talk about all that in my unboxing video.

I WANNA HEAR IT ON THE ROAD
I’m the next video! 👍
I want to congratulate you on your turbo install. I ordered the same turbo kit from Monkey Wrench Racing for my 2001 Celica GT. I'm on the second day. Your video is really helping me because this has been a tough but doable process and you have done it. Absolutely great job. You should be very proud. Very few can do this.
honestly i wish i could turbo my corolla, it's a 2010 corolla but it's with an automatic, it used to be my mom's car and now she handed it over to me but i love watching your videos! i had gotten an intake on it, the borla s-type muffler and i did some other things as well. it's got around 156,000 miles on it and i don't have much money to work with since im still young but it's the most reliable car i've driven!
They say this will work with the automatic, I just might not last as long as the manual!
But hey we all got to start somewhere. And I did the same things started with all the small mods and saved up to get some nicer and bigger mods!
this is hilarious because me and you are in the exact same position. im getting my moms automatic 2010 corolla ce with 250km on it which is approx 150k miles lol
I see I have some videos to binge. I haven't been modding my corolla because I got laid off a month ago. But first, congrats on the Tacoma. Its looks nice. Second congrats on the turbo. Your channel for sure have to grow a lot from this.
Damn that sucks! Hopefully everything goes good with the job search!
But thanks I really appreciate it! 🙏
You doing alright?
@@Disconsonance88 yea I got another job. Paying me decently good and I'm just saving the money for now.
@@kidlo2050 Glad to hear, God bless!
Thank you for uploading this. I'm also fairly green with modding and I wanted to know all the little things about turboing a corolla. We aren't trying to race ours, my mom is just fed up with how slow it is when accelerating and doesn't want to buy a new car. :)
I hope the video gave you some good information!
But this would definitely give the corolla some more power!
have you cleaned our the throttle body
You also need to tune it and push maybe at most 8psi. The compression ratio is totally diff from an actual turbod car
Thank you for your sharing!🍻

Very cool 👍😎👍
Looking forward to next video ❗
It’s a fun car to drive now! 👍 👍
I have a 2012 9.0 RS Scion xB with the 2AZFE 2.4. Been imagining this.
The 2.4 can be turbines as well! Makes decent power!
You deserve 100k views already. Great content
Thank you! I appreciate it!
i just found your video and i have to say your corolla looks sick man. Much love💌
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Just came across this. Holy moly. Very impressive
Thank you! I appreciate it!
I can see right now I'd need to do this myself as well, cause no technician would do all that for cheap!
Yeah it’s a lot of work to install the turbo. And I doubt any technician is going to want to drill a hole in your engine. Lol
Hey! Love watch you done to the Corolla! I have a 2015 Toyota Corolla model S I believe it’s a automatic, I’ve done loads of stuff to the interior but after seeing your channel I have so many questions! I’m going to be getting the same Turbo kit you did but I’m curious what exactly did you use for fuel and engine management, as well as what your sensors and stuff look like! I would love to see a video detailing those steps and how it works if not some insight would be amazing! ❤
That’s awesome! Love seeing others modifying their corollas!
But as for engine management, I went with what turbokits offered, with the AEM FIC. Which is a piggy back harness that plugs into the stock ECU, and then from there i you can tune your fuel and ignition with that.
And sensors, I honestly only ran a boost gauge, but do plan to run others as well. And will post a video about that!
If you have other questions just reach out to me on Instagram, @justa_yota
Bro? Just one question how do you not know what kind of transmission you have? I don’t think you should be driving if you don’t that lol. Do you have two other pedal to the left of your gas pedal? Or just two (gas $ brake) do you have to manually shift gears or do you put it in drive and leave it? Automatic or Manual man.
@@The_real_papadon I have a CVT automatic transmission I know this now, just wasn’t sure if mine was a CVT just getting into all the car stuff if u wanted to be a dick don’t reply dude lol
Bro its a return line you could have welded a fitting onto the black steel lower oil pan... its not a supply line.. its a return line.. for supply use sandwich plate (you have to buy adapter to switch from cartridge filter to canister oil filter) or T fitting at stock oil pressure sensor/switch like you did. Just a tip for you, do not run 0w-20 with a turbo setup... you need more protection, you should be running 5w-30 (or 0w-30 if you live in extremely cold environment)
Well let’s just say threading a hole is much easier for me then welding the fitting into the pan. Because this was more of showing people they can do this in their own garage without any major tools! As well I was told from turbokits that’s the return line shouldn’t have any upwards movement because it relies on gravity to return.
But trust me I would have much rather drilled into the oil pan, because I can replace it easier then the lower block, lol.
But i will look into running a higher weight oil, because I have heard it is better for the turbo. But I live in Florida so it never gets cold.
Congrats on a successful installation. Now to do cams.
Or better yet, swap in a 3ZRFE 🤤
Thank you! And probably will run this engine until it blows up. And either do another 2ZR and have built internals. And I haven’t really heard much about the 3ZR. We’re they ever in America?
I want to do this so bad to one of these cars and make it a sleeper, feel like this platform has so much potential but no one does anything with them
Yeah this platform has a bunch of potential. Just not many people realize it!
But making this a sleeper would be awesome!
Well done bro👏
Thank you! Really appreciate it! 🙏
Remember the turbo needs oil for lubrication on that spot there high u dont get the pressure and amount needed like the botton where all the oil is matter of speaking
The turbo is getting oil supplied from the oil pressure sensor. It’s it should be getting good lubrication.
The bottom line is just a drain line for the oil that goes through the turbo.
I think it would make more sense finding a more quality oil return fitting for the block to maintain structure and reliability
It's just a pleasure to watch you work. Handsome continue.
Thank you! 🙏
REMARK quad cat back exhaust sounds 100x better, but you need to install the TOMS racing rear diffuser to accommodate the dual exhaust. I bought the one with the blued titanium tips, and the K&N short ram air cold air intake with heat shield is way better and has out of the box dyno sheet proving HP gains. Granted your video is about the 1.8L, and I have a 2022 Nightshade hatchback with the 2.0L.l for my every day driver. My garage kept weekend car is a 2022 GR Supra. I have two kids so it’s not practical for an every day driver as it’s a two seater. You forgot the potential suspension upgrades that are cheap and literally bolt on accessories that help handling performance. Prior to this car I had a 2010 XRS 2.4L that was a lot a fun. Either way, solid build but just offering up some other potential suggestions. The only downside is my car has a CVT transmission so if you pump too much HP into it with adding a turbo you will rip the tranny apart. Long story short, add the suspension upgrades for better handling. The Supra is staying stock… it’s badass as is.
I will have to take a look into that exhaust and see if they make something for my car.
But the 2022 hatchbacks look really nice!
I would love to get a GR corolla! They got the power and practicality of a seden!
sounds amazing
Thank you! I agree, the turbo makes it sound much better!
My dad sold his 2013 m/t Corolla for a 2023 awd Camry, I’m still gonna be watching your videos of course but I wish I could’ve turbocharged the car

Will definitely turbocharge my 2003 Corolla S once I get the crower stage 2 forced induction camshaft for it. Hopefully this year.
That will be awesome! 👍
Mine smokes bro. And I did mine a little bit higher than yours l. But smokes if I push the accelerator hard

I wish they had a turbo kit for the TOYOTA CHR. A good looking vehicle hampered by it's power train. .
That would be an interesting car to out a turbo on. I have seen some really nice CHR’s.
I wonder if some of the first ones had the same 1.8L as the corollas. If so this could would mostly work!
Letss gooo, might do the payment plan option for the turbo
It’s an awesome upgrade! But I do wish it was a little bit cheaper!
i have a couple of questions .how much did you initially pay for the whole entire kit, did you opt in for the injectors, how much boost do you normally have, and ive been following this project for a while so im wondering how much you dumped into this car
I talk about more of this stuff in my unboxing video, which I will link as well.
But I paid about $4200 for everything, I upgraded to 550cc injectors.
And right now I’m running the base tune, which should be around 8 PSI. But will be getting a dyno tune soon for a better tune and see how much power I will be making.
But if your wondering the total amount I have spent in this car, I would say around 10K.
ua-cam.com/video/2ONBRpzdtaA/v-deo.html
I dont know whtats going on but I like it nice work!
😂
Thank you!
At Toyota I used to use Vaseline for the o rings on the injectors before I pu them in
That’s a good idea. Wish I would of known that when I was doing my injectors.
As long as they are made from synthetic and not real rubber. Petroleum/Mineral based degrades real rubber.
I want to modify my family's minivan, a Toyota. Can I get some advice
The best advice is to do as much research on whatever you are trying to modify, so you are familiar with what you are doing.
@@BrandonStellmach it's a 2007 facelifted Toyota Noah
@@chickenwingsLMAO just doing a quick search on that car, it looks like you have a 3ZR engine. And if you plan on modifying if, I would look up any Toyotas that have the same engine.
My corolla has the 2ZR, so it will be similar, but not that exact same!
Oh also before I forget again, any plans for an LSD? You’re definitely going to have traction issues now.
Yeah plan to do one in the future. But most likely will wait for this transmission to start having problems first!
Just be careful with the torque steer man boost is addictive
What year is the car? can see that you have a newer intakemanifold. I got a TS with 192 hp from 2002, bujt didn´t find any turbokit. Nice video !!!!

This is a 2009 corolla!
i know u sold the camry, but man don’t you wish they sold kits for the 2.5 cam, i know they do for the scion tc 2ar-fe same engine as the cam but glad to see the corolla get a turbo 😮
I did want to turbo the Camry, and I have heard people modifying the TC turbo kits for the Camry. But seemed like a lot of work.
Also the Camry was an Automatic, and would really loved to have it a manual.
Pretty nice kit to go on so smoothly, money well spent! What are your plans for that heat wrapped header you took off?
It was a pretty good kit!
And I probably will sell them later on.
I’ll hit you up on Instagram so you can let me know if/when you decide to. I’m assuming it’ll fit an 08?
@@melvinbrumski1446 I don’t think they will fit a 2008. This is for a 2009-2018 corolla.
With the 2ZR motor.
I forgot they switched engines at that point :/ I know where one is available but at $900+ I might just get creative/make compromises
Not to have ocd but did you even torque the bolts😂 did you hand tighten it?😂
😂 yeah I tightened all the bolts!
Bro that's awesome congratulations on the turbo , I don't even think they make it for my 15 Camry SE. Do they?
Thank you! 🙏
And I know there is a kit for the Scion TC. Which has the same engine. Not sure if anyone has tried to put it on a Camry yet.

Where you drilled the hole and tapped it seemed pretty thin. How’s that holding up?
It was about a 1/4” thick. But has been holding up good. No leaks or cracks.

Holy shit😂this is awesome…
It’s a fun and great little car!
What did you have to do motor wise in order for it to handle a turbo I want to install one on mine but have no clue what I'm doing to be honest
The motor has everything stock. These motors in this generation corolla can easily handle low boost of around 7-10 PSI.
awesome vid man! will this same kit work on a 2014 corolla S? Thx
From what I have heard this will work for 2014 corolla. But I believe there is some modification you may need to do. But this has the same motor my car does!
are you parting out the other parts -- like the borla exhaust? I've been looking to get one for my Corolla
I will probably in a few weeks. Just want to make sure everything goes as planned with this!
Dose your Corolla have the cvt tranny
No, it has the 5 speed manual

cool man. Quick question. Did you select the thermal coating on the turbo, exhaust manifold, etc?
I did not, I was planning on getting a turbo blanket for much cheaper.
@@BrandonStellmach thanks man
what year is the corolla?
This is a 2009
Part 2 please
Yes! 👍 👍
What engine is that 1zz?
This is the 2ZR.
Why didn't you go with the bigger turbo? You get more HP.
Gotta start somewhere! And the internals of the engine can’t handle much more power then what this turbo can put out!
Any effect on fuel consumption / average?
So in the gauge cluster. It actually shows me getting around 35 MPG. While before I think it was around 26-28. But having the base tune with my turbo. I don’t think I can trust it.
But I honestly think it has gotten better because a tank of gas last me longer then it used to without the turbo!
What did you do with the pieces you removed? example header, and the injen intake?
I still have them, will most likely be selling them in the future!
@@BrandonStellmach I need those parts, how can we get in touch?
What motor is this?
2ZR-FE
Is the turbo smog legal?
I don’t think so, I would contact them and ask them for your specific vehicle.
if you got a longer pipe, do you think you’d be able to tap the oil return into the drain plug hole?
The reason why I put the drain for the turbo on the block and not the oil pan, is because the turbo relies on gravity to drain the turbo, and if the drain line has any up movement in the line it will not drain good, and could possibly destroy the turbo.
For most other cars the actually have a large drain pan, while this gen corolla has a very slim drain tray.
How much would you charge me to install the same kit in my 2011 S?
I am sorry, I don’t work on other peoples cars.
But it’s a lot of work. But if you could find a shop to install it, it would probably cost about as much as the setup to install.
Can you tell me what kit it is and where to order pls ty
This kit is from turbokits.com. I have put the link to the kit I ordered in the description.
plz post more!
Yes! Will do!
Do you know if this is CARB legal?
I do not think so, because you have to replace your entire exhaust. Unless you can get cats installed.
its called a Cowell not window shroud.
Your right! 👍
Hey Brandon
Do you have the Header that you removed from your Corolla? Will you sell it to me?
I have already sold them!

Does that turbo kit fit for 2011 corollas?
Yes this kit will work from 2009-2018 corollas with the 1.8L.

👍 ❤️ 👍
are you getting it retuned?
Yes will eventually get it dyno tuned!
@@BrandonStellmach can't wait to see how much it all makes 👍
Do I have to remove the catalic converter?
I’m order to put the turbo and down pipe on the car. You will need to take off the old exhaust.
But weather or not you want to weld on the stock catalytic converter, you can do that afterwards.
Almost 100% of the time, when you are putting a turbo on the car, people usually don’t put it back on!
What ECU did you get for tuning bro.
I was using a piggy back harness with an AEM FIC with a base tune on it.
@@BrandonStellmach I only have my ECU reflashed but some people are telling me to stay with it because theres not gonna be a lot of difference if i get a different ECU and take the car for tunning since all i have is few parts only.Im not sure about what can i do in order to get the hp of the parts i got
@@LexisTheHighTonetaking it to a dyno, they will most likely be able to get more HP out of the mods you have, but probably not much more and not many people tune Toyotas.
Bro is this a 2az!?
This is the 2ZR!
This on the stock axles?
Yes! Right now everything is stock including the clutch. But the clutch is slipping with a full throttle pull. So I plan to upgrade the clutch. And when I do that will look to see if they have any upgrades axles!
how much hp are you at now
I still need a dyno tune. But should be around 250HP.
😱👍
👍 🔥 👍
What a nightmare !
I know! But definitely worth it!
Bro u dont drill on the block you drill on the oil pan jesus lord what the heck 😢😢😢😢
The reason you drill into the block on this engine is because the “oil pan” is more of a oil tray. And doesn’t have room to put a drain for the turbo. And this turbo drain line uses gravity, and if there is any upward travel, the oil would not drain probably and backup into the turbo.
Many other cars actually have a large enough oil pan that is about 6 inches deep, so there is plenty of trim for the drain plug.
