    Nicely done review. I considered one of these but ended up buying the Honda NX which I'm quite pleased with. The CF Moto might be more off road capable though.
    That doesn't bother me too much..the Honda's OK with lighter, gravel road sort of stuff and I'm happy with that.
    I think the NX motor's a bit less stressed. Lower compression ratio etc.
    I think that might help with motor longevity and the service intervals as more satisfactorily spaced as well.

    What makes it ‘Entry Level’? Seems like a sensible bike for anyone to ride to me. I ride an AJP P7, which by your logic is ‘Pro Level’. Looks like this CF does exactly the same as the AJP and can go a lot further doing it.

    This is like a mini Yamaha Tenere 700 / Aprilia Tuareg 660. The 450/500 "single" manufacturers are going to struggle against this if it proves to be reliable and well supported by a good dealer network.

      13 kg lighter than the T7 and a lot less power. Much heavier than a ktm500 exc, or ktm 690, crf300 etc, the biggest advantage of the cf Moto is price and that’s its main selling point- it’s no light weight enduro bike

      @Mademototrip We have the same bike too? Whoa. I did look at the Z900RS but couldn't justify to pay extra 5-6K for a daily commuter that I won't be cleaning every day. My plan is the Z900 as daily commuter and an entry level ADV like CFmoto 450MT. Later on is an electric with at least 10 kWh battery as daily commuter and perhaps a larger ADV by then.

    I don’t know about calling it “light weight”. Light weight is ktm 500exc. Heavy weight might be super tenere 1200. This would therefore be middle weight. My 1200 ninja with 200hp back in year 2000 weighed the same as this “lightweight” today. My xr600 with 45hp weighed 140kg back in the 90s. So 450mt is not really lightweight. But if calling it lightweight makes you happy, I’m happy for you 😅

    • @MademotoADV

    • @krazed0451
      @krazed0451 3 місяці тому +4

      @@MademotoADV They cannot do anything to fix the problem, it will need an aftermarket map loaded into the ECU as they are tuned to meet emissions, the very lean fueling at low revs (likely coupled with a fuel cut at fully closed throttle) makes them snatchy in on/off throttle application. It's a common problem across the majority of modern bikes. On the bright side, you'll need to map it if you change the exhaust to something a bit more free flowing so it's worth saving up to do both things at once (I know a few places are currently developing maps) ;-)

  • @miketran4289
    @miketran4289 3 місяці тому +2

    CFMoto will NEVER address the mapping issues, that's because you are riding a motor by KTM which was meant to be in the Duke 490 and since it's part of the Duke family, it follow BS6 emissions standards which is why it's jerky and has throttle lag. The only way to fix it is to buy a O2 Sensor mod or a piggy back ECU like one from RapidBike. You'll have to wait til RapidBike gets hold of one of these bikes for them to release a update for their RapidBike Easy (O2 Sensor mod) or the RapidBike Evo (Piggy back ECU). I'm glad I cancelled my order for the CFMoto 450MT since lots of reviews report it having the same throttle lag/jerkiness issues. I have a Duke 390 so I know all bout it. On a better note I'll probably end up getting a CFMoto 800 MT-X instead of this.

      Because it's not normal.. It's because it has ride by wire and BS6 emissions standards, the other bike that has that in the class is the Duke 390 which has this same issue , KTM also designed the motor for the 450-MT. It was meant to be in the cancelled Duke 490. The only fixes for it is to get a O2 sensor mod or a piggy back ECU like the RapidBike Easy or RapidBike Evo.

    Anyone comparing this to t7 is just clueless... It first has to endure 5-10 years of dirt riding and on road without major issues... Then you can start comparing it to a t7 and the cp2 engine. I have no doubt in my mind that this engine will not be as reliable as the cp2. Infact the cp2 in Tenere is one of theee most reliable engines ever built by a human. Chinese quality, maybe can be archieved, but chinese customer service is just horrendous beyond imagination. Long ways to go for cfmoto
