Just tried on the medium and jumbo yesterday at Neiman Marcus and I can't believe how small the medium is! Now, I am having a conniption trying to decide between medium and jumbo. I know jumbo will hold more things, but I really don't plan on using this as an everyday bag - my neverfull and speedy 30 do the trick there - so I guess I am still leaning towards the medium to use as a weekend/special occasion bag, but now I'm just less excited by it! My husband also thought the medium "looked cuter" in this words - lol. I do have a Chanel WOC as well which kind of fits the bill for the weekend/special event piece. Argh! Decisions, decisions!

I've always wanted a Chanel bag. Just recently started watching all the UA-cam videos from everyone under the sun about It and weather to buy new or pre-loved. Yours is my fav. Of all the videos. Once I decide on which one, it was time to go see and try in person. Took a trip with my bff on Sat. to Chanel store is San Francisco so we can both experience it together. I ended getting the classic jumbo black caviar with the gold. I thought I wanted the silver, medium. But in person, the jumbo was the perfect one. If I waited to get later, I would never pull the trigger..especially with another price increase coming soon. I Can't wait for it to be delivered this week since the last one in the store I tried on was a display and they had to ship one.
I just want to say I've been watching you for a while now and have been listening on your feed back on Chanel bags. Myself I adore LV and Chanel to death lol I have a few LV bags and SLG's but today marks my first movement towards Chanel.. I bought the Chanel 2.55 medium flap :) thank thank you so much for your honest opinion with Chanel. My classic jump flap I got from my grandma she was a very affluent bag collector since the 50’s and this is the one bag she gave me, I have taken it to chanel and all the essays are shocked at how well it holds up! I love it and it goes with everything I highly recommend! However it is a little scary if I go through a bad part of town it could be snatched up quick

You can tie the jumbo chain inside the flap with a ribbon. Leaving one long chain and one short chain. Then the jumbo can be easily hand/arm carried or worn cross body. Try it and see!!

I want to buy a square mini in lambskin or a woc in caviar, which one do you think can be a better bag for someone who is 158 cm tall and has a more casual lifestyle? And also may I ask you if your first chanel (the black one in lambskin) has the same wear that your jumbo does? My personal preference would be a square mini - I owned a WOC for a short time and found it extremely limiting in terms of space. I think the square mini is just a more versatile bag in general :) My first Chanel doesn't but it also isn't quite the same bag, i.e. it's less structured than the classic flaps (no double flap etc.) which I do think makes a difference. A classic flap wouldn't have the same structural issues as my Mademoiselle Ligne flap but it also has different wear. The lambskin maxi I used to own did have the exact same wear as my jumbo though.

Yup, it's the same thing! Caviar would be a grained calfskin - and is more generally what the public called the leather rather than official Chanel SAs. A bit like how the 'jumbo' isn't the official name because Chanel just called it a 'large classic flap' :)

And also may I ask you if your first chanel (the black one in lambskin) has the same wear that your jumbo does? (or the wear on lambskin is more noticable on scratches rather than the leather peeling off? Thank you :) !!!
My personal preference would be a square mini - I owned a WOC for a short time and found it extremely limiting in terms of space. I think the square mini is just a more versatile bag in general :) My first Chanel doesn't but it also isn't quite the same bag, i.e. it's less structured than the classic flaps (no double flap etc.) which I do think makes a difference. A classic flap wouldn't have the same structural issues as my Mademoiselle Ligne flap but it also has different wear. The lambskin maxi I used to own did have the exact same wear as my jumbo though.

Because I can only see calfskin and lambskin on their website for flap with handle and classic flaps.
Yup, it's the same thing! Caviar would be a grained calfskin - and is more generally what the public called the leather rather than official Chanel SAs. A bit like how the 'jumbo' isn't the official name because Chanel just called it a 'large classic flap' :)

Hi. Thanks for your video! I’m 5ft and I found the chain too short for me too when I tried on the M/L so I am hoping to go for the jumbo! Hope it’s not to big for me- seemed ok when I looked in the mirror. I just wanted to ask what do you do with your bag when you go out for dinner etc? Obviously it’s an expensive bag so I would be worried about putting it on the floor or leaving it unattained xxx
