I just love Chanel. My collection of bags, shoes and accessories is growing and I could watch and research Chanel bags constantly.
I don't think I'll ever actually own a Chanel but I love hearing about them and seeing what styles/colors collectors go for. I'm a sucker for a boy bag and the smaller ones!

My SA from Neiman’s in NC said be on the lookout for a Chanel price increase this month. Just received the turquoise blue Classic double-flap...beautiful and before the price increase! Great video!
I think a good tip is always ask for different sizes. You might be set on one size but then you realize you prefer a smaller or bigger size but it's already too late since you bought it.
I was so set on the maxi classic flap because I'm 5'8 and tall, so I thought it would be good for me.
Tried it on, and I was so sure, and also a little dazed because it's a Chanel store so you don't really think rationally, you're just giddy to get the bag you want.
I didn't even ask for the jumbo.
So now I've had my maxi for 6 months, and I carried my friend's jumbo and I realized the jumbo was much better size, in terms of the bag itself, and the chain length.
The maxi has a short chain, but a really big bag. So it's such an awkward bag.
No matter how many times you set yourself to a bag, especially in size, always try the other options in store because your body type is always different from the photos and videos you see while researching for the bag you want.
Exact same thing happened to me! I bought the maxi when I didn't know much about Chanel sizes and then regretted it after. VERY good advice! :)

I almost fell for the maxi too many yrs ago ( my height of 5ft 8inches) but after researching on you tube the many bloggers who made comparisons , finally I got my jumbo , and been collecting them since..

Great tip. There is a waiting list for Chanel from Harrod as well as Selfridge. I’ve been on waiting list for black chanel mini few months ago and Selfridge phone me a week after to collect it. Also I’m on waiting list for the burgundy mini that coming next next from Harrod. Have a great weekend
Thanks for the tips Amie!! I recently became obsessed with Chanel and have been very blessed to be able to obtain a very good amount this year. I do regret getting so many in such a short span of time. For one, I did NOT know about the possibility of "bad batches" of leather. When I went in to get my medium classic flap in caviar leather, I noticed the bag creasing before using. I went back to the boutique to exchange it only to find that the other bags brought out were not much better. I decided to keep it and went to a different Chanel boutique to try my luck only to be shocked that it was even worse... The leather of my medium is surprisingly A LOT softer than my jumbo (both in caviar).

Excellent informative video! I'd love to see a comparison between the small flap vs the mini and medium/large. Particularly what fits, and what size you prefer of the 3. I'm always so curious about the small size and it's not as common.
Love this. If you have a specific bag you're looking for, let the SA know, and if you're looking for the black mini, there's apparently always a waitlist so get yourself on that waitlist.

I live in the US. My local Chanel store keeps a detailed waiting list. The SAs are all so nice and helpful, I have never had to wait for help in the store and my personal SA has called me quicker than expected on my waitlist requests so far. This Chanel is inside Nordstrom, so I get a lot of Nordy Notes and points as well, when I buy a Chanel bag there.

Totally agree about the double flap! I bought a pre loved jumbo single flap years ago before I knew the difference and i so wish I got the double flap for the exact reason you mentioned, the top of the bag has lost that nice rounded shape :( The only way I can get it is when the bag is quite full but then it becomes uncomfortable to carry with so much weight on the chain strap. Double flap all the way!

Thank you for this video, followed your tips about calling the store in the morning and was FINALLY able to hunt down my beautiful black mini square with gold hardware in lambskin! This after many months of texting with a SA, he never contacted me about this bag and they had even two in the store, other one in Chevron, when my husband called this morning and ran for it haha! I'm now the happiest square mini owner of the world!! 😍

Great video. Definitely will not be able to afford a Chanel bag for a long time, but hopefully, when I do get the chance to buy one down the road, I will definitely take your tips into consideration. I do want to at least go into a store and actually see one and be able to inspect it in person one day soon. Chanel is the only luxury bag that I would probably ever buy, even though all your other bags are amazing, I would rather save my money and get a Chanel since I have always wanted one. Very informative comparison, for me being a fellow shorty lol at 5’ ft love the look of the rectangular but now I see it wouldn’t work out for me. 🙄😁
Thoughtful video. I take exception to your comment that single flaps are not considered classic flaps. They are both considered classic flaps. Chanel stopped making the single flaps in 2010. But they are still considered classic flaps, and many actually prefer the single flap over the double flap.

Hi Amie ! Nice video ! Thank you so much. I need some advice regarding my future purchase. For my first Chanel, I hesitate between the mini rectangular and the small classic flap. There is huge price difference between those two... I want to use my future Chanel bag on a regular basis for my day to day life (so I will certainly go for caviar leather). Yes, in the US they will add you to a wait list. I am currently on a wait list for a mini rectangular. The sales associate told me he would work on getting one for me, but it could take from a couple of week to months. Those hard to get bags are basically sold behind the scenes, you will not see them on the floor. Sadly.
