Well, the first two episodes in Season 3 of Telltale's The Walking Dead have finally come around and the results are the same as they were in the previous 2 seasons - they are loaded with sins. Not even the Power of Clementine could save this one.

Biggest sin is how long it's taking for telltale to give us episode 3
This is entirely normal. The game came out late December, they had their winter break, and it's the 4th day in February, so it hasn't even been 2 months yet. We've had MUCH longer waits between episodes (TFTBL Episodes 1 and 2 was about 4 months, and GOT Episode 5 and 6 was 5 months).

Once a character becomes determinant, they always die off later. It takes too much time and effort to create a seperate storyline where the character is alive.

9:20 bonus sin here, originally this scene was gonna end with Javier accidentally shooting him rather than knocking him out but they changed it last minute. If they had gone with the original plan the whole drama with the new frontier would have made much more sense, rather that getting angry with them over "stealing" supplies that they had no way of knowing belonged to them they would have been angry about them killing one of their men which is actually a reasonable thing to be pissed about accident or not.

Gortys You have to remember that Javi and his family spent the entire apocalypse without human conflict. They basically drove around the whole time in their RV with walkers being their only threat. It's understandable that they make stupid decisions their first time around.

Telltale is like that one lover with a drug addiction or some shit. Since you love their game, or really just the people in it, you'll keep coming back, no matter how bad they fuck up. Such as killing everyone fucking off from last season except Clementine and AJ so fucking far. But yet, they have clementine so everyone comes back. Literally, this game got just about as much sales as season 2 I'm sure. Every choice barely matters, and you're gonna laugh if you haven't noticed this one, depending on who you go with, Clementine has a scar, or, a tattoo if you went with Jane. This is a sad attempt, because telltale knows if they fart, and a shat comes out with Clementine's face on it, they get money.
ItzLectroBro Saving Alvin wasn't a massive story change at all. He had very little dialogue and screen time in episode 3. Saving him changed nothing at all. It would've been cool if his death actually made a difference, like maybe he shoots Carver in the leg before his dies, letting the group get the upperhand on him but he had such a lame sacrifice.

I don't like where they are going with clementine... Last time we saw her she was fairly nice. It almost feels like they are gonna pull some garbage to make her some kind of villain and I'm not ok with that especially after the way I had lee raise her. Her being a bit rough could be summed up to her staying with so many jerks that she and partially me care about. Also Kenny's death was lame. It should have been more akin to a death similar to lee's final stand to get to clementine. Why? They both tried to be father figures for clementine and While Kenny was a massive jerk at times he truly cared for those he saw as family, including clementine and Lee. So drawing some parallel would be neat to see. Even if some would agree with my least statement it would have been much more fun and emotional than seeing Kenny go out in such a pathetic manner. I would say something about Bonnies death but that stunt she pulled back in season 2... It's not out her character to pull such a cowardly stunt.
Salt-Master Eriasu kenny died perfect in season 2 he finally got what he's always wanted and that is to be with his family again, and clem in season 3 is exactly how I see she would be an aged matured hardened survivor who has lost everyone she has cared about and doesn't want to join people because she doesn't want the same to happen them as her other groups but also enjoys being with people

I'm not entirely surprised... I'm guessing it had something to do with his kid that you disagreed with right? My play through Kenny and I disagreed on killing Larry. I knew that Lilly would flip. I didn't expect her to up and kill carley. I left her to die. In fact I won't be surprised if she showed back up as the real leader of this new group in season 3 because of that. If she does, I called it. THough for the record I doubt it and don't even own season 3.

+Andrew Ortiz yea id prefer kennys death to be in season 2 but telltales brought it in this season and its by far the worst, disrespectful, and most emotionless death ive seen in any point and click game. So If clem alone is the best choice than y did teltales put 5 different endings in season 2 that gave the illusion of choice to each ending would have different stories in atleast the first episode of season 3 but only 1 ending actually mattered while the rest made ur choices pointless
Alejandro Salvidres this is my take on why they possibly did the multiple choices, 1 they wanted a big ending for season 2 that would leave players really wanting a season 3 and that is a smart business move, 2 possibly they weren't planning on using clem for another season
+Andrew Ortiz to me I believe they did this was because telltales would have to actually put effort in their story. Season 1 was amazing, by far one of the best games ive ever played. Season 2 was good at first but the choices started to ruin the game due to its false choices, especially with the russians plotline. Season 3 completely ruins the entire series for me, you can play this season first and it wont anything that happened the past 2 seasons, havier or whatever the main characters name is sucks just as much as the emo kid, i would of prefered season 3 to be played by clem and aj since there the only likeable characters left but for some reason telltales is trying to make clem unlikeable by making u go against her and it doesnt work. I hope this is the last season because if it ends as another cliffhanger i will not even bother checking the game out

yeah, I was pissed the fuck off when this season started. I was like "who the fuck is THIS?! Where's Clementine!!"
Because we want another group that we know nothing about, and have no connection to, and we meet during the apocalypse so when shit goes down it doesn't impact us. (I'm talking about the group Luke was in, in Season 2)
The choice to make Javier the new main character (and the flashback sequences) adds a lot more character development and it makes you feel for the characters and root for them, make choices for them instead of your precious clem from season 1 (god bless that child she had been through so much)
I'm not against a new character personally, but there's nothing likeable or unique about Javier. The only thing seperating from from all these generic 20s-30s male protagonists is the fact he's Hispanic instead of white.
And two chapters in, this story is full of terrible twists (sure his brother's alive, why not), dead children and irritating as fuck characters. Also I don't see how you couldn't care for Clem the same way you might for new characters. I'm already aggravated with most of them and I'm still pissed at Tell Tale for basically acknowledging that Season 2 was a giant waste of time.
CreditR01 yeah, the whole "illusion of choice" thing is getting old. Like you said, they took away our beloved Clementine but didn't give us an adequate replacement, so it was all for naught. I want Clementine back now more than ever

Honestly, Telltale fucked up as soon as they decided to insert a new protaganist and also add Clementine to the mix. It's a vain attempt to have the best of both worlds, and it's obvious they didn't even attempt to do it well. They definitely should have either shifted the focus completely to Javier and left Clem out completely(although this would leave several questions and even more angry fans) or not tried to force new characters into the mix and focused on Clemmy and whoever she stayed with(which would make way more sense, but would take a lot more work to completely cover all of the possible Season 2 outcomes).
Although I'd be able to get over all of that, every single flaw, if they didn't kill of Kenny/Jane/Edith like NOTHING. I literally had to stop playing after that part, and it took all of my willpower to play it anymore. It reeks of lazy writing, and I hope Telltale has something up their sleeve because only something really big would truly save their credibility at this point.
