- Welcome to GamingSins, where I nitpick the hell out of video games.
The original Resident Evil 3 released back in 1999 and it still remains one of the best Resident Evil games ever created. It introduced new mechanics and intricacies that many people take for granted these days. And it featured one of the most memorable antagonists of all time, Nemesis. Nevertheless, it has its fair share of sins. But even I will admit, they are a bit of a stretch.

I feel like it can be argued with in a sense. If you shoot at a terminator it don't give a f***. If you shoot or grenade Nemesis, he actually retreats, showing he has a sense of self preservation that can be played with.

I find it funny that the military in Fear The Walking Dead misses all shots, fails to reinforce the fencing around their base, not use any heavy explosives and ram zombies with riot shields when all ammo is wasted.

The reason the original Resident Evil 3 was better than the remake is because it had a lot more to it added new mechanics. For the Remake, rather than adding an expanding, they took away. When you remake a game of a classic you set the bar really high. Unfortunately the Remake could not surpass the original. This is me being fair.

At 2:22 when Dario says he just lost his daughter I always thought that his daughter was lost but not killed, because when you track back to Dario before you run the cable car you find a girl that's just been killed by I zombie, running towards Dario's location. I always thought that she was Dario's daughter trying to make her way back to him, because the location is too specific.

How would she know Dario's location though? It was just a random girl that died, but i do think the girl in the back door exit of the clock tower, IIRC the mercenaries note said she was waiting for her father or something.

Dude, Umbrella sent a Nemesis Tyrant after STARS specifically because they've already fought and defeated at least one of them (before this was retconned for Zero, where Rebecca and Billy also fought one).

bro Jill is the protagonist in this game, she will survive no matter what due to plot armor. If this happened in real life maybe she could survive against the zombies but honestly Nemesis would’ve easily killed Jill in the first encounter
Yeah really. Not many people can take a rocket to the face and live to tell the tale. Or rather what you said, xKCAZxLeader, first encounter, one heck of a left or right hook to the face or chest. Unless if you are especially trained in how to take pain you are going down due to bruised or broken bones with the first Nemesis punch.

Adam Gray how can anyone (in real life) would be trained for the tyrant? Umbrella did all of these experiments in secret, acting as a harmless pharmaceutical company. No one would be bruised or have broken bones they would be dead, these tyrants are stupid strong

The reason behind the inconsistency in Chris's diary is that Jill was supposed to be the main character in Code Veronica so she would have been in Europe at the time, but Capcom changed their plans.
About the explosive barrel, there is a button that specifically targets object like them instead of the enemies.

Funny how one single person could defend themselves against a horde of the undead, while an entire police station can't.
Well, the police station took the hard hit of fighting against a full horde of zombies and B.O.Ws, they fought when the apocalypse was on its apex like in the opening cutscene. Jill was lucky enought to fight only what was left of the outbreak, some zombies here and there, a small horde there and so on.
She would have probably survived if she was in the apex too tho (like she did probably, hide and come out when the worst happened already), since she woulda known this B.O.Ws cant be stopped easily and she woulda just ran out of the place, be smart and survive.
The police were actively sabotaged by Irons, spreading out and locking up their equipment and supplies so that they would be hard to get, or not able to be gotten at all.
no one in that police station could survive the spencer estate. not even our boy leon

I've 'thought about this a few months back and realized Jill never remembers her lock pick, not in 1 not in this game, not in revelations. It's nice to know that I'm not the only person who finds that odd, especially since her dad was a thief and taught her how to unlock shit.
Jill's dad is a thief but she became a cop. Wow that is more ironic than Wesker's son saving the world in Resident Evil 6. 😂

16:50 In case someone's wondering: There's only one way of logically solving the puzzle, besides from puting the balls into the plates randomly (like many people do)
Each ball move the hour hand an specific amount of hours:
- Obsidian: 1 hour
- Crystal: 2 hours
- Amber: 3 hours
And then we have the plates under the time goddesses. Each one also moves the hour hand in a certain way:
Past: moves the hand counter-clockwise
Present: moves it clockwise
Future: Also moves it clockwise, but 2x the value of the ball over it.
So, for example, let's say you put the amber ball in the future goddess plate (+6), the crystal ball in the past plate (-2) and the obsidian ball in the present one (+1). the clock hand will move 5 hours clockwise. So everything comes down to this simple equation:
-x + y + 2z = w, where w represents the amount of hours you want the hand to move clockwise in order to hit 12 : 00. x the value of the ball you should put over the past plate, y the one over the present plate, and z the one in the future plate.
The only thing you have to do is replace x, y, and z with either 1, 2 or 3.
And this game likes to change the initial position of the hour hand with every playthrough (just like many other puzzles in the game), so that's why the answer is never the same. But the values of the balls and the way the plates modify the hour hand movement don't change at all.

This game just was that good. Alot younger then but i will never forget the heartburn this game gave me. You heard S.T.A.R.S. You ran cause you never had enough spitballs. Some would argue the inventory or controls were wack but to be fair now that only added to the suspense. Survival Horror at it's finest.

To be fair, the whole "Carlos dying being game over despite just meeting" is the same reason why you can't kill Revolver Ocelot in MGS3, you'll cause a time paradox if you fail, which leads to a lot of issues and eventually to the death of the main character which leads to lots of inconsistencies in future games (Yes, even more than you can find already).

Wow, those areas like Clock Tower and Park look really good and the Nemesis choices really impact the ending. It would be a shame if those were missing in the Remake.
Actually the only choice that changes the ending is whether you push nemesis off the bridge or you jump from the bridge, every other choice doesn’t really change the ending

You can actually find Dario's daughter running through the city wearing pink. And there is a different button to shoot barrels exclusively so you don't keep shooting zombies in the way.

Things you didn't mention you could have used to take off sins.
1. You can turn Jill into Regina from Dino Crisis in the boutique
2. The Nemesis items/weapons drops
3. Theme's In the game, free from fear, unstoppable nemesis, for example
4. All the epilogue's of other characters you get for completing the game multiple times.
5. For those who don't know it was Willam Birkin who sabotaged the dead factory at the end the game.

Glad to see someone else giving the game the credit it deserves.
After the REmake 3, a lot of people started attacking this game stating that it wasn't taht good either, which is extremely petty and false.
Of course it wasn't that good, just as the remake is bad.
This one is bad because reasons. The other because entitled fanboys didn't get the clock tower or park.
Sounds familiar when monster hunting and pockets are involved.
