    That was the best job showing how they’re done from step 1. Some crafters just decorate the top.

    As a mom of boys I'm not really into heavy girly decor but I sure can appreciate it! You did an amazing job on this tin, I have a lot of tins I've saved over the years too. Now I'm inspired!! ❤

      LOL I'm a mom of boys and tomboys. But they are all grown and out of the house. Thank you so much for your sweet comment.....I appreciate the compliment. I need to save tins.....we usually have Altoids tins but I don't know where they disappear to. I wouldn't consider this a decor piece, more of something to sit on your dresser to keep something special in. It would also make a great gift.....maybe with candy or a tiny little album or gift. You can also make it masculine. So many possibilities. If you ever do decide to alter a tin I would love to see what you do.....you are so creative and I know it will be awesome :) Hugs....Janie

      @@janiethecraftprincess it was pretty late after I watched, not sure why I called it decor!! LOL. Thank you as well Janie you're so kind, we have the altoid tins too, I didn't even know they still made sucrets!! 🤣

      @@GettinBye1 I hadn't thought of Sucrets in years, but about a year or two ago my neice was pretty sick and went through a bunch of them and then sent some of the tins to me via my hubby when he was down her way. She is a sweetheart and has saved other things for me like the little Oui yogurt jars and some other stuff. My hubby brings me trash too. I love it that they do that for me....hee hee hee. We used to get Altoids a lot but I don't know where the tins went. I have one my desk that isn't empty yet, and I have a couple small ones. I guess I need to buy more....LOL 🤣

    Beautiful! What is the name of the thing that looks like a pen, but is a blade? You used it to trace the can?

    • @janiethecraftprincess
      @janiethecraftprincess  Рік тому

      Thank you 😊 The only thing I can think of that you are talking about is when I was "cutting" the tissue paper to fit the tin. I was not cutting it and it wasn't a knife. What showed you was a brush, like a paint brush, but it's called a water brush because it's attached to a tube of water that allows the water to come out of the brush end. You can use a regular paint brush (skinny of course) and water to do the same thing. Tissue paper and napkins tear easily when wet, so I traced around the tin with the wet brush and then tore away the wet edges of the tissue paper. This creates a feathered edge instead of a blunt edge like you would get with scissors. I show this technique in every video I make using napkins or tissue paper, and in other videos I actually speak and explain. If you would like a link to one of the other videos just ask, OR look in my Playlists for the one that is titled Napkin Craft Projects. I hope this long explanation helps. Thanks for stopping by 😊

    oh, it's gorgeous! Now, what will you use it for?
    I wonder if you put magnets inside for pins and made the top cushiony

    • @janiethecraftprincess

      LOL....no magnets....no cushion.....it's a box. Perfect for giving candy or a small gift or using for jewelry or a small mini album. It's perfect just the way it is :) Hugs....Janie

      @@janiethecraftprincess Oh, that would be nice for a piece of jewelry. I'm just currently obsessed with pins since I have some in a plastic box and I want something better and nicer. I usually get things wrong when commenting. I should have said, "What would I do with it?" or "Oh, that is lovely for a project I need help with." It's not a commentary on what you would do. Does that make sense?

    • @janiethecraftprincess
      @janiethecraftprincess  3 роки тому +1

      @@shalacarter6658 Makes sense....thank you. I'm not good at reading between the lines and take things pretty literally, sorry. I have been meaning to do a pin cushion video for over a year now and probably should do it.....maybe sometime in the next month or two I will try......just for you :) Hugs....Janie

      @@janiethecraftprincess OH, I would love that! I have only made one in my life. That was back in 4-H when I took knitting. I can only make rectangles. :) You make them and then roll them up and stitch them together. Kind of cool.
