I always love the rain / wind simulation in AC (4:23). The way the rain moves on the right-hand glass as the car accelerates and decelerates is literally unmatched - even today.
ACC is for people who want a Real simulation...Not for casual players. Forza aims for an larger audience. Most people want a fame more realistic then need for Speed, but still playable with Controller. ACC is impossible to play with Controller.
What the f••• are you talking about? I played AC:C with a gamepad and had some issues until tweaking the settings (a lot), but it is certainly possible to play AC:C with a controller. I recently picked up a wheel (after 20 years without using one) and noticed how similar GT7 is with and without one. Oddly, I'm just way more aggressive playing with a controller. My lap times are faster in GT7 with a controller, but my laptimes are also much less consistent than when I'm using a wheel. Basically, I drive more conservatively in GT7 (and most other games) with a wheel than with a controller. More strange is that I instantly correct for losing grip with countersteering on a controller, but I find it difficult to even notice when I'm losing grip with the wheel (even though the visual and audio cues are the same using both controller types). That also explains why I drive more conservatively, adding 2 or more seconds to my laptimes. I'm using the Logitech G29 (because I really can not justify buying a direct drive wheel for >$500 even though racing is effectively my preferred gaming genre). What I have noticed (and it's been more than 10 years since I've driven sideways in real life, so I could be mistaken), but the way FFB works in the G29... feels wrong. When the rear slides out, even a little FFB goes totally limp, and I just don't ever remember that loss of force ever being a thing with a real car's steering... maybe these new fully electric power-steering cars do that, but cars with physical steering don't do that to my recollection. At best, it's just a strange cue to tell you to countersteer, and the wheel also makes it easier to counter by easing resistance, but to me, it's the hardest thing for me to get used to about using the wheel and so far every game I've played using the G29 treats losing grip the same way, FFB effectively disappears. The pedals are another story entirely, and they provide no dynamic responses to actions, whereas real car pedals do. All-in-all driving using a wheel and pedal set-up is not taking you that much closer to driving a real car... which, on the surface, sounds like a really strange thing to say.
Yeah Forza looks great but doesn't go without mentioning the quantity of modded content in AC compared to the brand new Official aaa racing game. AC doesn't have rain or night weather conditions from standard so it's crazy they are even being visually compared.
I played the very first Gran Turismo and was playing arcade racing games in the 80s by filling the machines full of money 😂 It’s great to see how we are at the stage where we have to find the tiniest differences. Young players should feel very privileged that they have what they have now.
Ha, remember same too the Arcades were state of art compared to what you could get on you personal computer brand of choice at home, downside being the cost and time you got to play. Now you can do laps on most circuits worldwide whilst sat at home.
It's weird that AC car paint looks so much more natural with all of the highlights/midtones/shadows, but the new next gen FM8 looks flat as it's from 2010 game engine. Also what the hell is going on with rear view monitor in FM8 and why it's darker while it's inside the dark car which would increase it's contrast.
Allegedly this forza is still using car models dating back as far as motorsport 4 so my guess is they're just unable to realistically interact with the new lighting engine.
@@bordibalint also all real copies of cars have mistakes like Mazda 7878 is missing tons of stickers that were in FM5 and this RSR is missing key sticker "Porsche Design Timepieces" on rear bumper of real RSR.
A lot of people seems to disregard the modded content as some unfair advantage. For me, it's very fair. What's not fair, is a game in 6 years of development to have recycled content. Right now, you can buy the complete version of AC and a lot of paid mods with a quality and depth that forza can only dream of, for a fraction of the price you pay for forza. This is unfair.
@coldburrito5818 it won't be though. Not the extent of ac. It has a 10 year head start, the mods are top notch, and the community is exceptional. I love forza but ac is the game to mod for sure.
@@joshuafallet5690 It doesn't have to be like AC, it just has to be good and to have an identity of its own. I'm sure it will evolve thanks to add-ons and patches. I prefer diversity so more racing games means more options. Moreover, I only like single player campaigns so it would be very boring for me to be be stuck with just one title. Project Cars, Forza, GT7, AC, F1 etc, I play them all....just not day one.
@@vandett8736 thats the thing, assetto corsa is also ready to play without any mods, the mods are just like cherry on top, whenever you feel like the game lacks of something, its possible to make it happen,
its just settings. unfortunately this comparison doesn't even do AC justice. It all comes down to ppfilter used (post processing), the settings in PURE config, the PPfiler settings in PURE, and if you have added reshade as well, then whatever else those settings do on top of that. The result on screen is completely different depending on which initial filter you use and how you tweak all these things. My night looks for example closer to FM, lights are stronger (like they should be), this AC here looks just dull in the night imo. Also the rain here in AC looks rather bad on the road. Really think this wasn't the best setup. I would say lighting, reflections, shadows, colour grading, and I will even dare say car details are way better in AC. FM has better volumetrics and way better geometry in backgrounds and details. Then again, we should compare SPA in day, with the 3D trees mod to FM Spa in the day. I still think FM will better in world detail and geometry, but man for a 10 year old game, the modding community in AC is freakishly amazing!!! The fact it even compares to a game that JUST came out blows my mind.
@DCFHazardRebornChannel yep AC is the way you set it up. I keep seeing people posting drift videos and their game looking completely different. Currently I'm on the latest csp and pure and the PPfilter I used was 'AC Aura Photo' (i know it's meant for photos but I really like how it looks). And the chase camera script I used is the forza horizon one. For the video I decided to use the settings in AC that I play with instead of trying to match Forza, made more sense to me personally.
@@bordibalint yeah totally, it all comes down to preference. Oh yeah I like that filter too. Really sexy. The AC Acura Photo. Honestly I don't care what a filter is made for (like, if its meant for photos, lol) I just look at the result and well if your "photo filter" looks awesome Im gonna use it in game, hahaha. I was on Horizon Shades Sky for a while with my own Reshade setups. Some days ago I went to the latest SKY GT (v 1.5 or 1.6 or what was it), redone my reshade settings, and loving it :)
As a hardcore AC player, I love it so much. I have all the modern day sims and still always go back to AC, mainly due to the feel and realism. The fact that it still looks just as good as newer games, 10 years on, is just a bonus to me. I'll take realistic physics over graphics any day. Plus I still believe we have the best rain effects in AC than any other game out there. The only other that comes close is Drive Club
I still prefer FORZA, because when I tried Assetto, it is extremely user unfriendly, I was so confused from the menu, whole game looks ugly in base, than I find out you need mods with subsriptions and hours and hours of settings. Instead Forza, you buy and play and it looks awesome, and the driving is for casual gamer with a wheel is more than enough.
you are right on everything except the subscriptions part theres a lot of good mod content that is free and all the neccessary functionality of cotnent manager is in the free version so there is no real reason to ever pay for anything considering kunos puts the game and all of its DLC on sale for 12 bucks on a regular basis, its not a bad price to pay.
AC is so lame and boring, this game basically survive because of mods and the developer are extremely arrogant including the fanboy too. I prefer much Forza and the new 8 tires contact patch makes the tyres simulation more realistic than AC.
@@runninginthe90s75 You can literally do anything, in any vehicle at any location, online or offline. If AC is lame and boring to you then that is entirely the fault of your own lack of imagination, AC virtually has no boundaries. FM8 is already getting too limited and grindy for me. EG: Enter the German or JDM competition and you're limited to about 3 cars to choose from. Always have to do 3 practice laps even if maxed stats. Can't add upgrades to a car unless driven for 2-3 hours solid. Now that's lame and boring.
This is something unimportant, but I don't understand why is Forza afraid of sudden hand movements. All the steering wheel input of the in-game driver seems slowed down or "dampened" to reduce the sudden hand movements when playing with the controller, no matter how sudden your input is. In real life you would need to make those sudden adjustments too, so I don't understand why not have the steering wheel animation connected more directly to the actual steering of the car.
I agrree as janky as my steering wheel movement looks in AC I prefer more movement. Like in The Crew Mororfest they now added hand-over-hand turning and it's sooo much nicer compared to the crew 2's limited almost f1 like super minimal wheel movements. Plus as someone who drives in real life too you don't have to be doing parking manouvers to see twice the movement as what forza has.
it’s because the amount of steering movement required to make a turn generally decreases the faster you go. if 900 degrees of steering angle was scaled to fit within the range of motion of a thumb stick, it would be very difficult to steer with any precision, especiallt at high speed. assetto has less damping and speed scaling of steering inputs than forza but there’s still some there. assetto just caters to more serious players while in forza you can just mash the stick all the way to one side and the car will automatically find the right steering angle for the speed you’re going.
AC isn't even the most accurate sim on the market, and Forza pales in comparison to it, it's not even a contest. I honestly find it laughable that Playground games would even attempt to market FM as a "simulation." Cars IRL aren't understeery boats that feel lethargic and reluctant to turn. FM makes driving feel like unintuitive, brutal, work. IRL driving isn't some deathmatch with you're steering wheel, constantly fighting a car that doesn't want to do what it's told, its far more natural of an experience. Just because something is difficult doesn't mean its more realistic, and IRL driving really isn't all that difficult.
I think Assetto is great but so far I've really enjoyed Forza motorsports multiplayer races. It's set up really well, no glitches for me so far and generally the drivers are pretty respectable of each other. In my experience
Yes it's a quirk of me prefering not to use the controller assist in csp as it introduces steering delay and I like driving with no latency. Downside it looks funny.
Like the horrible default wheel setting in FM 2023, the default controller setting in AC and ACC is disaster. But after some tweaking it could be as smooth as FORZA without the mandatory steering restrictions in FORZA
That is mostly due to AC1 not having Night Time Races natively, same with Wet races. Those are custom Shader Mods and Physics mods, hence the inaccuracies in some parts
Depends on the track, the author has to add extra work to the map to give it proper night lighting. At this point most modded courses have night lighting and I think all the default kunos tracks do as well
I know sadly I forgot that the way it works in AC is you gotta let Pure run a bit and form some nice puddles on it's own and set the fog manually and stuff. Haven't messed with weather in a bit as I mostly use the presets. It would have been nicer that way I agree.
I have found Forza to be more as an arcade racer because it is absolutely horrible with a wheel. Much rather play iRacing or AC. Forza if I am bored and want to lounge on the couch.
I know graphics only hold up thanks to the incredible mods we have but I prefer the handling of AC over every other sim it just feels soo natural and predictable to me.
@@Daniel-v9m3s I haven't played racing games in a while but I remember really enjoying GT because if you got first place gold in all the races in a series, you'd win a car. I bought Forza for the Xbox one at launch and you didn't win anything for races, and it got repetitive pretty fast. I enjoyed winning cars and either keeping them or selling them.
These comparisons should skways have the real life examples as well. Even if its justva small clip. If you played the real sound clip a lot would still say the game version sounds more realistic
AC's cockpit view is not weirdly lit. looks naturally dark and illuminated in all the right places.. Forza has this weird glow, and the cube map reflection on the steering wheel is distractingly inaccurate! LMAO
Sad to see how 10 years old game is more realistic (not in physics) then game newly released. Physics vise, we are talking about low grade arcade game vs sim game...
I really like the detail of things around the track in Forza Motorsport. Makes the track more interesting. Not that you’re spending much time looking at it, but I like that it seems as though there is an event happening at the track. In one comparison it looked like FSR was turned way up on Forza due to some blurry ghosting on the steering wheel. Could be why on track detail looks very blurred out too. Though that could also be UA-cam compression. With out FSR and no motion blur there is a ton of track surface detail in FM, as much or more so than you see in the AC comparison on the right. Love the car audio for AC. I haven’t been super impressed with it in FM.
At this point I should make a disclaimer as a pinned comment so many people say so many things about the forza footage. Long story short i'm on a 3070 but this video was captured and uploaded on launch day and the game stuttered like crazy and had hickups on lap segment triggers so after like 30 minutes of trial and error I had to set it back to it's default (for my gpu) settings which were most things high and auto. I believe it's much better now on pc but two weeks ago or so it really wasn't. As for track detail I always love more of it I think recent Grid games did an amazing job too making circuits feel more alive.
So you didn't have the ability to test it properly but you decided to test it anyway vs game that's had many patches next gen updates. Seems competent @@bordibalint
Can you just harass someone else with your gotem takes pls? First of all the game has been out at that point in early access for people who preordered. Second a game should launch in a playable state, period. Third I used Digital Foundry's recommended settings first, trial and error and resorted to default. Fourth how long should a person wait with such a video that doesn't even claim one game is better? Months? Years? How many people do you think would've been interested if I didn't upload it on launch day? Fifth AC is a 10 year old game it's not actively patched by devs it's the modding community keeping it alive. They are not compareable in these terms. Reason I am comparing them is because they are Pc serious track racing games / simulators use the definition you want. Also what do you mean next gen updates which game are you talking about the 10 year old modded one ore the one that just came out on next gen consoles? Talking about competence requires a bit more knowledge I'm sorry.
@@bordibalint agreed. I appreciated the comparison video. With the mods for AC the game looks quite admirable for its age. I just bought the ultimate edition today and I was quite surprised by the reflections on the hood camera. I think they’re quite comparable to FM, especially because of their resolution and refresh rate. I need to see if there are mods to add tracks to AC, because I wish there were more.
And to this day one of if not the most realistic in terms of handling. Many IRL pro racing drivers and drift champions still use ac to practice when it comes to sims like formula drift champion Andy Hateley for example or Chris Forsberg.
I love FM, already put more than 50 hours on XSX. I hated AC on the XSX controller, found it impossible to drive around corners. Played AC Ultimate for 1 hour tops in total and uninstalled it. I've recently bought ACC and I'm hooked, after some much needed reconfiguration of the gamepad. I'll be redownloading AC again to give it another chance, with some reconfig. But more importantly, I just got my first wheel on XSX (Logitech G920 on sale for $230). So I intend to revisit recent and older games like NFS Unbound, Project Cars 2, F1 22, Grid, FM7, FM6, FM5, FH5, FH4, FH3, etc. If AC is as good as ACC once correctly set up, it's going to be amazing I'm sure. Perhaps even better since so many more cars and tracks.
Glad to see that you switched to a wheel. It’s hard for me to respect the “sim racers” on these games using follow camera and controller. If people are gonna get serious about these driving games, then they should get in the car and immerse themselves into the driving. It gives life to the game.
FM was designed for consoles with joystick, mostly the reason with graphics isn't much advanced than the 10 years old AC. Its a all-around friendly game designed for large player base. AC was designed for powerfull computers with dedicated controllers, it run bad on consoles and playing with a joystick is a pain in the ass. The game doesn't have much cars or tracks, it's pretty niche and designed for hardcore simulation players. That's comparing apples and pears, why not having both, depending of your tastes and the situation ? ;)
With the ashiness look of Forza, circuits like Daytona, Sebring, and Watkins Glenn will always look better than Assetto Corsa. The same can't really be said for other circuits around the world, though.
Modded games will always at the end of the day turn out better than unmodifiable games. You can choose what you want instead of beseeching the devs to change shit that doesn't need changing or otherwise.
the porsche 991.2 sounds so realistic in Assetto... it is a shame the people at turn10 can't give two sh**s about nailing the engine and exhaust sounds. P.S.: just look at the cockpit view... AC looks truly like what we understand as "next-gen" whereas forza is like 360/PS3 gen
I wish the blind driving assists in Forza could be somehow ported over to AC/ACC. At least the track limit cues, steering guide, (not the steering assist) and the turning cues.
Forza is much better visually, but AC is more than 10 years olds and still not to far behind : Perhaps Forza should have been even better visually, more photorealistic to stand out more from a game that is over 10 years old.
You can tell that Forza tried to make their game sound more like a C, which was a good move. Because now it sounds better than GT7 which improved from GT six
@@bordibalint Ahh I see. My bad, sorry for my lack of attention. I thought it was C8. I think AC is still the best in most area. The only drawback in AC is on the sound department, they lack of immersion. But C7R in this video sounds pretty decent, although it still has that "monophonic" feel to it.
Only thing keeping me away from AC (yes I own both games) is the sound. I know it's an older game, but even Forza 7 (2017) has much better sound than AC. Some mods have helped, but the way sounds are blended in AC just sounds terrible. Good physics though, that feels like AC's strong suit
Best racing sim on a wheel IMO is Assetto Corsa, in terms of the amount of content and the driving itself. Yes, there are issues, and yes, it requires mods to be this good. It is no contest with Forza... On the controller, with GamepadFX (I use Advanced Gamepad Assist), the story is exactly the same. This video doesn't show it off, but with AGA, AC once again has more content, less glitches and bugs, better audio, better controls, and prettier graphics. They REALLY dropped the ball with Forza Motorsport. One day either AC will get an actual career mod that is good quality or another game will come along with the same level of physics and customizability. What other game do I enjoy on both wheel and controller so much? None. I was hoping that Forza would become this, with it's customization and all. It did not. Wheel settings are mediocre at best, and the career mode is ruined by this whole CaRPG thing.
@@not-pedka But FM8 physics is way worse than FH5... They said that it's realistic... But it's more like boat simulator with NFS Shift slide feel- Only realistic thing there are curbs
Wow, Motorsport looks so much better. It should because it's newer but what about how they feel or the games structure and UI? I have not played Assetto but I own Motorsport and the driving is not forgiving. It's hard if you are used to Forza Horizon games. Plus getting the cars upgraded is a grind.
To me AC feels way more intuitive to drive. Like cars behave the way I expect them to while FM feels more like a video game where I just have to get used to it's own handling. But to be clear I'm strictly talking about Assetto Corsa on PC with CSP and the new tyre models and physics. I would never recommend vanilla AC on xbox to anyone. And as for the progression system of FM I am very disappointed. I was hoping we'd get something rewarding and fun and to me this is kind of the opposite. Oh and the UI in modded ac is whatever you want it's very easy to customize however that game has a super barebones 'campaign' and it's mainly suited for starting custom races from a third party launcher called Content Manager. On the flipside it's and old game so it regularly goes on sale, runs on older pc-s and installing the mods and getting started is suuuper easy.
@@CaptainSteen these are not official mods even tho they have kept the game relevant and alive. For it's sequel, Assetto Corsa Evo the devs are looking into official mod support so it may happen on consoles but most devs tend to shy away as it's more difficult due to consoles being a more closed ecosystem usually.
I like how the driving is in FM2023 compared to Forza Motorsport 5 through 7, but I'd rather go back and play FM7 despite not liking it. The new game should have been pushed back, it was NOT ready to be released.
Yes absolutely but I don't have a ps5 or gt7, people already did it and I'm not really a comparison channel actually I just do these when I feel like I mostly do variety gaming stuff with commentary.
If I’m playing on Xbox series X with a sim rig would AC be a good option? I’ve enjoyed FM as my first game on the new fanatec setup. But I don’t know what everyone is talking about when they say mods ? Are these things I can do on the Xbox ?
Hey in case you actually don't know what mods are or others are also interested they are short for modifications, it's something on pc to tinker with a game to make it behave differently by moving files. When it comes to Assetto Corsa (original not competizione) it means a new launcher (content manager) new weather system, tyre model, smoke etc (custom shaders patch) plus whatever track or car someone recreated that is not in the game or it's dlcs. These things have a free option and are super cheap so many people are drawn to havnig a game with 1000+ cars. And while some games have mod support on xbox like Fallout 4 (community made content mostly) Assetto Corsa does not. It's very rare for people to be able to modify console games Fallout has developer support for it. And lastly vanilla Assetto Corsa on it's own without any mods really shows it's age, it's a 10 year old game. For me it's the outdated tyre models that make it feel very off on console, on a wheel it's better but still. I say it you got interested in AC because of all the buzz around it, sadly it's only the PC version that's that good but that one is one of the best simulators to this day most people agree. Not so much on console sadly.
Got both games on XBX - but why is it in the cockpit view the steering wheel turning is and looks so odd on ACC ? Its like so twitchy and turnz far to quick as not in sync with the left/right on controller - looks odd!!
First this is original Assetto Corsa on Pc with mods NOT Competizione, second it's usually the steering wheel's own setting being higher turning angle that the game's. For example my T150 wheel can turn 900 degrees but GT cars have a turning rate of 500 or something I think that's why they can have formula 1 style and not circular steering wheels. Some games adjust themselves nicely to this but some don't.
you can check something called steering lock and steering ratio in the settings but i don't know if you can change them on xbox when on a gamepad but they infulence how much your virtual wheel turns basically
Yep, all the mods for Assetto Corsa aren’t for ACC. You should get Assetto Corsa if you want to mod the game and if you want to drive any road car or race car, you should get Assetto Corsa Competizione if you only want to drive GT3 cars or GT4 cars to the highest degree of simulation.
Yep just like @user-sk8we2tg2t said ACC is hyper specificly a GT game with only that class of cars while the original Assetto Corsa has hypercars, old road cars, drift, mountain side course and more importantly mods meaning if your favorite car isn't in the game and the dlcs thete is a very good chance that it's a free mod you can just download and drag n' drop into content manager (modded ac's launcher) i say AC is crazy value and amazing feeling simulation while ACC is serious esport sim with just GT cars on laser scanned real circuits.
I have Assetto on an original xbox one NOT AN S NOT AN X...A ORIGINAL. No Mods and it still plays and looks better than Forza compared to realisim. Ive been a Forza fan since 2 and ive been sim racing way longer its just a fact Assetto is way more real.
MOtorsport runs like legit ass on PC and it doesn't look good either. However, on either the Xbox Series S or the X, the game looks like what you'd expect to see on PC..... I uninstalled it and will go back to playing AC in VR.
Same, I uninstalled the PC port after making this vid, tried playing a bit on my Series S and got disappointed with the career and unistalled it from xbox too.
First time i launched FM8 i was so disappointed by the graphic... The only thing it has over other game is background details, the rest of it look like trashed even maxed out with RTX.
Exterior is the Chaser Camera extension with the BACC - FH preset Interior is Neck FX with 'look ahead' and 'direction alignment:steering' disabled. (Set to 0%) Both in CSP
why are the settings so low on the forza footage? do you have the specs each video was set to? My motorsport and AC look a lot more refined. that forza game play looks like its on the lowest settings at 30fps lol
Ok so when I do these videos I always try to max everything out on my 12600k and 3070. But this video was recorded and uploaded on launch day, almost 2 weeks ago and if you watch Digital Foundry's video on the PC port of FM you'll know that it was a stuttering mess. So I tried tweaking the settings and benchmarking for around 30 minutes and then settled for the preset that set most things to high or auto with rt off. I think if you reset graphics settings you get this on a higher end gpu. This was the only one that didn't stutter like crazy and freeze up whenever you passed a track segment divider in practice and I was able to capture some footage with at least the same graphical fidelity as a Series X in performance mode. My intention is never to misrepresent a game there is no conspiracy it was just simply super unoptimized at launch and I wanted a mostly consistent 60fps to capture that is not like stuff manually set to low but at least a high preset. As for the quality I think it sets certain stuff to low for some reason if you leave it on auto. In the first scene you can see the shadows under the corvette shimmer like crazy that is a known bug that may be patched now along with performance but sure as hell wasn't when the game launched.
Would make more sense on paper I agree but ACC is only GT cars and much much less popular. Less people play it, less people are interested in content about it etc. Me for example I have like 6hrs in ACC but 100+ in AC.
I lost grip here and there. I think it's the switching between the two games back and forth that threw me off a bit driving the same laps after the much heavier feeling forza you don't expect to slide so easily.
Also if you mean the steering wheel spinning like crazy that's just how i have it set up right now. Sadly if I enable a smoother turning it messes with the handling too not just the visuals and I'd have latency/delay while turning so that's why the steering wheel looks twitchy at times it's so its the most responsive.
First of all if you meerly read the description before commenting you would learn that my pc specs are in there. Second the game ran like shit especially on launch day when this video was recorded and uploaded and no matter what I tried it kept dropping fps and having freezes so I had to reset it to the default (for my gpu) high/auto just to make it not stutter like crazy. Watch Digital Foundry's video on the pc performace if you don't believe me.
Someone didn't read the description before commenting. No neither are. Both on PC. AC with mods (CM, CSP and Pure) and FM on launch day so some visual bugs are now gone and it would run more stable.
Yes both games. Wheel in cockpit view spins very fast in AC when I don't use the gamepad scripts but I prefer playing this way so I don't have input latency while turning. Downside is it looks funny.
@@bordibalint try this with a wheel, it's another level. AC with controller is awful, looks like every car understeers a lot! Forza is very optimized for controllers. But with a FFB steering wheel, your world is gonna change.
I do have a T150 if you wanna see me use it watch this ua-cam.com/video/tyW_NkRtp2c/v-deo.htmlsi=gsOIKZu7i6nLo8Ln But I play most racing games on gamepad that's where my muscle memory is even tho I do drive IRL so my wheel is usually packed away unless I decide to set it up but you're right AC does feel 10 times better on a wheel it's just I like it even on a controller.
Physics in FM is better, than AC. Also AC has very low sense of speed. But AC mods is the best racing game ever, no other game has so many tracks, traffic, 20 miles long corses like LA Canyons, tourust Nurburgring.
I personally would've used ACC instead of AC for the Comparison. AC1 doesn't support Rain nor Night without installing custom Shaders/Mods. For people unfamiliar with AC1 this could also paint a flawed picture of what to expect in the Vanilla experience
Potentially if they also don't read the description like you. Also even though ACC is more recent it is one, played by waaayy less people therefore less people would be interested in that video, two AC is popular BECAUSE of the mods noone plays vanilla ac because it's a 10 year old game with a barebones campaign and a dated tyre model so I think AC is one of those games where it's understood that it's mods also they are free and listed in the description. And lastly ACC only has GT cars so most people just skip it based on the fact that there are no street or hypercars in the game.
Oh my bad, Forza Motorsport 23: -70$ base game -90$ deluxe ed -100$ premium ed Or 10$/mo w game pass Assetto Corsa: -20$ base game -80$ game + every dlc (11) -100$ game, dlc, csp, pure, some paid mods Or 10$ for game +15$ for dlc when it's on sale
fact that we are comparing a month old game to a 10 year old says something about AC
it speaks volumes
Updates on AC? Like Minecraft has had so many graphical updates. It looks like a new game. You think that ac hasn’t had any modern updates?
Says even more about Forza
i feel like Forza motorsport evolved, but imo AC still remains the best simulator/realistic racing game
AC is only good with mods.

The physics in AC blow Forza and GT out of the water. And modded AC makes it look just as good if not better than Forza.

AC physics are absolutely dreadful based on this video. Look at 1:45 as it turns the corner, looks like it’s on rails, reminds me of GTA 5
You guys are talking about AC Conpetizone. That game isn't as good as AC
Not bad for a 10-year-old game...

Yes, your comparison is unfair. See you in a few years when forza will also be patched, updated and modded.
@coldburrito5818 it won't be though. Not the extent of ac.
It has a 10 year head start, the mods are top notch, and the community is exceptional.
I love forza but ac is the game to mod for sure.

"3 to go"
"Final lap. Finish strong"
The sound of the porsche rsr on ac is just amazing perfect melody
Sound in Forza is more detailed (I know, I know, you can mod that in AC)
Sound is now more of a weakness in ac but I’ll take a little worse sound if it mean much more realistic physics
night racing is actually proper terrifying in AC. Things are actually dark and hard to see.
Legit better than any game period.
agreed, racing at night is so immersive, even if you know the track during daytime youre still afraid to drive it at night
well its mods, there is no way vanilla ac can do that. its also very depends on what ppfilter that you used
its just settings. unfortunately this comparison doesn't even do AC justice.

Instead Forza, you buy and play and it looks awesome, and the driving is for casual gamer with a wheel is more than enough.
you are right on everything except the subscriptions part
theres a lot of good mod content that is free and all the neccessary functionality of cotnent manager is in the free version so there is no real reason to ever pay for anything
considering kunos puts the game and all of its DLC on sale for 12 bucks on a regular basis, its not a bad price to pay.
You don’t need content manger for subscription but yeah it’s a lot of work to get things right for your liking

EG:
Enter the German or JDM competition and you're limited to about 3 cars to choose from.
Very well said. I have this same complaint with many games' handling models where they think "difficult=realistic".
I am impressed by the old Asetto Crosa. FM8 looks like crap and its new.

The controller movements in the cockpit mode looks so funny in asseto corsa.
Yes it's a quirk of me prefering not to use the controller assist in csp as it introduces steering delay and I like driving with no latency. Downside it looks funny.
Like the horrible default wheel setting in FM 2023, the default controller setting in AC and ACC is disaster. But after some tweaking it could be as smooth as FORZA without the mandatory steering restrictions in FORZA
assetto corsa is the best i played them all and always go back to assetto
AC not having any track lights at night is a deal breaker for me. Do love that window rain effects tho.
That is mostly due to AC1 not having Night Time Races natively, same with Wet races.
Those are custom Shader Mods and Physics mods, hence the inaccuracies in some parts
Depends on the track, the author has to add extra work to the map to give it proper night lighting. At this point most modded courses have night lighting and I think all the default kunos tracks do as well
3:25 you can set fog and water splashes in assetto and it will be better
I know sadly I forgot that the way it works in AC is you gotta let Pure run a bit and form some nice puddles on it's own and set the fog manually and stuff. Haven't messed with weather in a bit as I mostly use the presets. It would have been nicer that way I agree.
I have found Forza to be more as an arcade racer because it is absolutely horrible with a wheel. Much rather play iRacing or AC. Forza if I am bored and want to lounge on the couch.

Glad to see that you switched to a wheel. It’s hard for me to respect the “sim racers” on these games using follow camera and controller. If people are gonna get serious about these driving games, then they should get in the car and immerse themselves into the driving. It gives life to the game.
@@jwells2401 Yeah, problem is I'm 3 seconds slower with the wheel in Forza Motorsport, compared to the controller. I've got to get used to the thing.

Forza 2023 < Assetto 2014
With the ashiness look of Forza, circuits like Daytona, Sebring, and Watkins Glenn will always look better than Assetto Corsa. The same can't really be said for other circuits around the world, though.
Modded games will always at the end of the day turn out better than unmodifiable games. You can choose what you want instead of beseeching the devs to change shit that doesn't need changing or otherwise.
Fair assessment!
the porsche 991.2 sounds so realistic in Assetto... it is a shame the people at turn10 can't give two sh**s about nailing the engine and exhaust sounds.
P.S.: just look at the cockpit view... AC looks truly like what we understand as "next-gen" whereas forza is like 360/PS3 gen
Literally... That hurt to me heard a GTE car with a awful sound more worse than GT7 (literally Polyphony need to update their sound engine software)

Forza motorsport looks good but there is a problem with lighting
Forza's shadows, lighting and textures look sub-par to me. Am i going crazy or is it just UA-cam compression issue?
It's the upscaler + the game still being buggy as hell on PC. Shadows under the Corvette were glitching out.
Visual bug, the game looks washed up due to bug but actually it looks much better than what you've seen on video
Forza is much better visually, but AC is more than 10 years olds and still not to far behind : Perhaps Forza should have been even better visually, more photorealistic to stand out more from a game that is over 10 years old.

What is there to compare if the 14 year game looks better than the 2023 game.
How much better is part 7 than 8... in everything

@@bordibalint
I forgot to mention I'm using a XBS controller. On Forza it looks fine but ACC looks odd when turning.
you can check something called steering lock and steering ratio in the settings but i don't know if you can change them on xbox when on a gamepad but they infulence how much your virtual wheel turns basically
@@bordibalint
Thanks, I checked but unfortunately there isn't an option for the controller.
Should I get AsseTto Corsa or Assetto Corsa Competizione? Are they the same game? Are most mods for Assetto Corsa not for Competizione?
Yep, all the mods for Assetto Corsa aren’t for ACC. You should get Assetto Corsa if you want to mod the game and if you want to drive any road car or race car, you should get Assetto Corsa Competizione if you only want to drive GT3 cars or GT4 cars to the highest degree of simulation.
@@user-sk8we2tg2t Cool. Thanks for making it so clear for me.
The moment i seen the carlist wth less then 500 race cars in forza i knew ac won
First time i launched FM8 i was so disappointed by the graphic... The only thing it has over other game is background details, the rest of it look like trashed even maxed out with RTX.
ACC es un simulador y Forza es un SimCade. ACC tiene compatibilidad con true forcé, Forza no, las sensaciones del volante mejores en ACC.
However, this is not ACC, it is the original Assetto Corsa
@@bordibalint Ups, AC it's the Best Game with Mods 👍
ac's physics are much better and more fun.
Assetto top!!
Forza look better, AC sound way better 🔥 both great games 🚀
This is not ACC it's og AC with CSP and Pure but Kunos Cars and Tracs
What camera setting for ac?
Exterior is the Chaser Camera extension with the BACC - FH preset
Interior is Neck FX with 'look ahead' and 'direction alignment:steering' disabled. (Set to 0%)
Both in CSP
why are the settings so low on the forza footage? do you have the specs each video was set to?
Even running at 100fps the game looks like it’s at 30fps! Hate the game on pc with frame rate drops and stutters! The mirrors also like absolute shite
@@AccondaExtend your FOV, buddy. Every racing game has it for a reason
Why not compare it to ACC
Would make more sense on paper I agree but ACC is only GT cars and much much less popular. Less people play it, less people are interested in content about it etc. Me for example I have like 6hrs in ACC but 100+ in AC.
AC still looks far better and even if it wouldn't i still prefer it over a game with no mods.
Lol contradicting yourself instantly
AC is nothing without mods.
Question. How do you play video games when you're registered blind?
FM8 has better ambient simulation. AC looks "plastic" much more like GT7 or Fortnite
Bruh in your dream " Built From The Ground Up " 🤣🤣💀
The constant screen jitter in Forza makes my eyes bleed.
The camera in AC and GT is so so much better.
Go to settings and turn off the camera movement 👌
Must be talking about AC on pc i have both on the xbox one and forza’s better AC on pc definitely looks better than on console
Yes both games are on PC and AC with the usual mods CM, CSP and Pure. AC on consoles doesn't hold up super well I agree.
forza motorsport graphics are underwhelming this time.
noto borroso el asseto corsa ultimate edition en xbox series x se ve muy borroso saben porque?
Propably it's running in performance mode not quality if I had to guess but not sure.
are you using controller
Yes. I play most racing games on controller. For this video I used my Xbox Series gamepad for forza and PS5 Dualsense for AC.
@@bordibalint I was just wondering cause your steering looked kinda wanky in AC
I lost grip here and there. I think it's the switching between the two games back and forth that threw me off a bit driving the same laps after the much heavier feeling forza you don't expect to slide so easily.
Also if you mean the steering wheel spinning like crazy that's just how i have it set up right now. Sadly if I enable a smoother turning it messes with the handling too not just the visuals and I'd have latency/delay while turning so that's why the steering wheel looks twitchy at times it's so its the most responsive.
@@bordibalint I think you can turn down the sensitivity which makes it turn slower and smoother
but AC is with mods there, originally it doesn't look like that
So what?
Forza on a different level graphically. You're a fanboy if you say otherwise. The rain on the window in AC is nice tho
Ac rain effects mod reminds me of driveclubs rain
Yes other people compared it too. I think it was either inspired by DC or that's the realistic way of doing it or maybe both but it looks amazing.
What's up with Forza with the low settings😂😂 What pc are you running this on?
First of all if you meerly read the description before commenting you would learn that my pc specs are in there.
Second the game ran like shit especially on launch day when this video was recorded and uploaded and no matter what I tried it kept dropping fps and having freezes so I had to reset it to the default (for my gpu) high/auto just to make it not stutter like crazy. Watch Digital Foundry's video on the pc performace if you don't believe me.
Just saying, low aliasing on fences and signs and some of the footage looks 30fps.. My Forza doesn't look like that.. 😅
Both on console?
Someone didn't read the description before commenting.
No neither are. Both on PC. AC with mods (CM, CSP and Pure) and FM on launch day so some visual bugs are now gone and it would run more stable.
Sometime we have someone that comment with pleasure😂 thanks baby
Forza si arcade for kids.
Assetto Corsa is SIMULATOR.
It was played in controller?
Yes both games. Wheel in cockpit view spins very fast in AC when I don't use the gamepad scripts but I prefer playing this way so I don't have input latency while turning. Downside is it looks funny.
@@bordibalint try this with a wheel, it's another level. AC with controller is awful, looks like every car understeers a lot! Forza is very optimized for controllers. But with a FFB steering wheel, your world is gonna change.
I do have a T150 if you wanna see me use it watch this
ua-cam.com/video/tyW_NkRtp2c/v-deo.htmlsi=gsOIKZu7i6nLo8Ln
But I play most racing games on gamepad that's where my muscle memory is even tho I do drive IRL so my wheel is usually packed away unless I decide to set it up but you're right AC does feel 10 times better on a wheel it's just I like it even on a controller.
I don't even spin in assetto corsa
And lastly ACC only has GT cars so most people just skip it based on the fact that there are no street or hypercars in the game.
you forgot to put the price difference 😂
Oh my bad,
