Question: if iRacing and ACC are the most realistic sims but 'drive very differently from one another' how can either actually be realistic representations of real world driving physics?
These are a all "games". Professional drivers all say the same thing. Each have a different "driving philosophy" and reward a punished different things. I feel like GT is the only game to where the "weight" of the car means anything. I like AC and ACC but like he said in the video, you can't always tell what the car is doing. I haven't played Iracing in years but it seemed like it was trying to make you feel like you could be a racecar driver instead of "you suck.." like GT and AC.
I feel like iRacing is very realistic in some aspects while ACC are very realistic in different aspects. iRacing has god tier crash physics and the way the car moves from the outside looks realistic as fuck. Meanwhile ACC has amazing force feedback and great weather simulation, but both are similar in that they both have laser scanned tracks and a competitive multiplayer system.
Thanks for the answers, I'm genuinely interested in people's POV...
iRacing because the tyre model (too old).
rFactor 2 is the closest experience ive had to irl in a while, iRacing is very good too along w ACC meanwhile AC feels lacking in all areas (all on CSL DD since last year, sim racing for 7 years)
I started sim racing a month ago with a simple g920+acc setup and man I've rediscovered my love for videogames again. I had almost forgotten what that real desire to play a videogame after work was like. So thanks for these videos, in part your content made me pull the trigger on the whole setup.
I got my fanatec gt dd a couple months ago. I know exactly what you mean. I told my wife last year I guess im getting old cause games aren’t fun anymore. That was until this hobby found its way into my life. It’s amazing how much there is to learn. Games in general have been dumbed down. Kinda like the current culture of rejects ruining everything that was once enjoyable.
It's not a game. It's a sim
@@InsertYourself1 same thing
@@jozixl8808 ahh so I guess F1 drivers PLAY GAMES when practicing for a race
@@InsertYourself1 Dude who cares what it is. Is that even relevant to this comment? No.
I really like ACC. Makes me feel awesome when i put a good lap together. But, for some reason, i play GT7 much more. Its just soo easy to pick up and play and have fun.
Ye this is the key. I wish I could just pick up ACC and jump into a daily race. However the online races on GT7 have so many idiots in it that I've rage quit many times due to being taken out in races.
@@cobyjim you can. Just race on leagues like lfm but you will need a PC. Acc on consoles is just garbage .
acc feels so repetitive after a while
@@dvino01 does every game doesn't it. Sorry but a season of GT3 racing is a repetitive thing every season. The most tracks stay the same. That's racing business.
🤷
@@aqulex84 yeah that’s IRL.. irl tends to be a bit more.... immersive 🤪
I played GT Sport for years(and now GT7) and i'm a huge fan of GT series. 3 weeks ago i bought a gaming PC. I can't even compare GT with games like Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2 etc.The difference in physics, handling, tyre grip feel, track surface feel etc is so much more realistic, its just so fun to drive, its actually feel like i'm driving a real car.. Honestly, AC1 on PS4/5 isn't even comparable to AC on PC(even without mods), i was shocked how much better it feels on PC.GT is a great game to start simracing journey, but after a while you really need something better, more realistic. It's like riding a 250cc motorbike and then upgrade to 600/1000cc motorbike, its totally different league😁
When i drive Assetto Corsa i just don't care that much about my lap times because its really satisfying, rewarding and realistic to drive..
That last sentence sums it up. I totally agree.
So acc in ps5 is not even close to acc in pc? So you think its not worth to get on ps5 if you already have gt7?
@@Jmab-rv7jc i just deleted gt7 ans focused on acc (ps5). Dont think about it, just do it.
@@Jmab-rv7jc I've moved from 7 to Acc on ps5. It's just so much better.
Me too. Just moved from GT7 to ACC. I do feel graphics aren't as good but the sim effect is superior. Just my 2 cents.
I just started Sim Racing, and as a kid who grew up playing Grand Prix on the Atari 2600, I can't tell you how exciting it is for me. I'm playing ACC, and it is an incredible experience. Just an OG learning to race around a track. Spectacular experience compared to what I grew up with. Great video!!
I started the same as you. Now playing iRacing in VR is a mind blowing experience compared to those early years!
"Old" guy here too. My first racing game was Pole Position. I was into Gran Turismo in high school, then fell away from games for a while. I got back into GT when GT Sport came out on PS4. Ended up buying a G29 and had a lot of fun. Then I started seeing guys running VR on youtube and thought it looked so cool. Long story short, I now race in VR in weekly leagues on a fairly high end rig. Dove right down the rabbit hole. LOL! But after 4 years, it still impresses me. As a kid I never thought games would get to this level of realism and immersion. If it's overcast when I'm racing, and the sun suddenly comes out, I would swear I feel the warmth on my skin. It's amazing how easily the brain it tricked.
@@angryginger791 very cool!! Awesome stuff, brother.
Grand Prix was a simcade, Night Driver was where it was at ;)
GranTurismo will always be relevant by name recognition alone. Its the most accessible "sim" by far and the controller gameplay experience is about as good as it gets. The physics just fall short in comparison to the hardcore sims as it isn't lifelike and a bit counterintuitive but that is something that can be altered through updates.
It's not even remotely a sim so stop calling it that. It's called a simcade for a reason.
@@Delimon007 lol bro stop being so hurt lol
@@BA-rh5hy is he wrong?
@@aidenless3479 does it matter?
@@Delimon007 I think by now it has enough sim features to be classified as a sim. And it's even better in many physics models than some "hard-core sim racing games". It's just that iRacing and ACC are even more sim focussed. And GT can never be on the same level for several reason;
1) GT engine runs several different types of cars, while the "hard-core" sims only run GT3 cars pretty much. This means the engine can focus on that category of car, while GT7 has to find a middle ground to accommodate a 100bhp family hatchback..and F1 cars, Gr.1 cars and GT3 cars aswell as rally cars, classic muscle cars, supersaloons, trucks and a go kart. (Have I missed anything out?) So there'll always be a compromise.
2) GT7 is held back by PS4. Other "hardcore" sims aren't even on the console market except ACC which was literally released a matter of weeks ago.
3) GT7 will always put controller first as that's where the target market is. So the driving dynamics is catered for the heavily limited controller. It also ensures fairness when controller users play wheel users. Since wheel users get more feel/FFB and all those goodies..it makes it easier to judge steering/braking/understeer/oversteer etc. Moreover it's easier for fine tune movements and corrections on a 32inch wheel using 2 hands and entire arm...as oppose to half an inch stick using the thumb tip only.
4)ACC and I Racing been out for several years and the updates are pretty much polished the game off. GT7 is new therefore has a lot to work on in terms of physics updates.
5) hate to say this..but GT7 cares more about graphics fidelity, and some crazy whacky museum history lesson on the automotive industry, aswell as taking photoscape pictures and worrying about how the sunlight and stars look...more than the physics models. This is GT's USP that other sim competitors are still trailing on by quite a margin. Which is still impressive.. considering GT7 is limited by PS4
Thank you for using Laguna Seca. It's been my favorite track since GT2.
GT7 has gotten a lot better since launch. I think it will simply keep getting better as well. I had issues with the handling in GT7 until I decided to play around with tuning. Once I took the time to learn more about tuning and setups is when the cars started to handle much better! Now I find the handling to be rather smooth and enjoyable. I'm fairly certain one of the goals of GT7 was to make the tuning more important and relevant to your ability to succeed in the game.
I agree every update keeps getting better and. Better
And, if you want to get into sim-racing, and if you already have a PS5 and GT7 you don’t have to buy a Pc (my case).
I think you need to pull some spring out of the rear in the 458. You're getting a lot of low speed oversteer which suggests it's no longer an aero issue.
He's also running TC with iRacing and ACC 😂
TC and ABS are almost universally used in GT3 racing lol@@mrebear9758
I'd check if the balance of the spring stiffness matches from gt7 to the other sims, also possibly some custom dif settings could play a role. If gt7s dif settings are preset to something that will operate different than what the other sims do then it would also effect the handling. I've noticed plenty of MR cars in gt games that have stiffer rear springs, despite already having a high rear weight bias.
I love the "I am electro" playing in the background when you do the final comparison of the three. Nfs high stakes 🔥
Enjoyed the comparison. For those of us lacking a high end PC, ACC is the only option. It looks like this will be true for some time as Rennsport will be another PC only sim. Unfortunately, the discontinuation of support for older gen consoles has fragmented multiplayer and left it in a pitiful state. Usually no more than 30 people in servers at any given time on PS5.
GT7 is perfect for people like me, that would love to get into sim racing but cant be bothered with the complexness of iracing, i just want a game i can jump on after work not think to much and play, also i don't have a sim rig but I find using the dual sense controller very enjoyable.
5 torq 10 sens for me
iRacing isn't complex lol. you are legitimizing controller play, ps controller at that, to play a racing game so you can't be bothered with non arcade games.
dont even attempt iRacing on controller please
Yeah so you just want arcade racing lol
@@AJS86 gt7 is NOT an arcade game, not even in the slightest
In GT7 you talk about the bipolar handling on and off throttle, which sounds like a differential issue to me. I understand that the problem is with the game's physics and goes deeper than just car tuning but I would've liked to see some differential adjustment in conjunction with your other adjustments, as well as some spring and damper adjustments to lessen weight transfer and try and get the car more planted and consistent on and off the power. I'm not doubting your tuning chops at all, I'm just curious to see if a couple more tweaks could further improve the car as I don't own GT7 myself (although I have played it).
p.s. - Love the Deadmau5 livery in iRacing haha
The real life GTs only have diff pre load adjustment
@@AJS86 Is it only preload in GT7 as well?
@@evaneffertz16 no you can buy fully customisable in it
When i was playing gt7 it was very much just chucking the car into the corner with some slip angle then touching the gas or brake just rotates the car one way or the other, it was unnatural feeling but I kept running into it. Mid corner "control" was bizarre because you weren't driving the car you were finessing the game itself because it wasn't quite right.
@@AJS86not true though? GT3 cars definetly can adjust differentials if memory serves me right, it's just that some series regulations limit it to preload, which is why ACC doesn't let you as it follows Blancpain / SRO GTWC, but it's not a factory limitation as far as I know, and should be a thing in other series
Amazing video. Thnx for this. Loved it from start to finish.
I really wish GT7 was a bit more; I love the atmosphere so much! Now, where's the bonus video section where you do the same comparison in BeamNG but don't say what game it is until the crash reveals the soft-body physics?
Definitely an insightful comparison! I do hope in the future you might do similar comparisons with other types of cars, like street cars or open wheel. Some sims just handle specific types of cars better than others and I feel a full comparison should be testing a few different types.
GT does a lot of things decently.. assetto focuses on one thing and Iracing to a point as well. Gt models street and racing cars from the inception to now. It would be insane if they managed to absolutely NAIL the feel of their whole line up.. hopefully they just keep making tweaks and keep updating!
what does ac and iracing focus on? 🤣
@@SSmallwood acc would be the gt3 cars. Iracing is race cars specifically.
You do realize that AC literally does that better and is moddable right?!?!?
@@Delimon007 yeah but for console plebs... gt is the best we have.

True that, no mods on console, sadge :(
This is the most underrated sim racing channel
I just got a Logitech g29 with h shifter over the weekend. Ive played need for speed and burnout growing up but I have never tried more serious racing without a controller. I am having an absolute blast on gt7 with the wheel. I may grow out of it some day but I absolutely love this game with the wheel.
Try iracing and their online ranking system.
GT7 is genuinely harder than the fully fledged PC sims. The reason is that the physics just don’t make sense, cars still have that weird snap oversteer, even after the physics update, so it’s difficult to drive them on the limit.
I can’t agree more but the difficulty is why I love it
Exact reason I've walked from GT7.
Not anymore after the 1.13 update.
Isn't snap oversteer normal on slick tires? It happens to me often in Assetto Corsa
Ya this issue was patched over a month ago now 🤷🏻♂️
Looks real fun having a sim setup. Great content!!👍🇿🇦

GT7 is not a full simulator but it's quite realistic regardless
I'd say when it comes to GT3 you really can't beat ACC. It's whole purpose for existing is to be as accurate as possible specifically for that class of racing. It snot like F1 where they're trying to make a fun F1 game. ACC is meant to be an accurate simulation of GT3 first and foremost.
The cars feel and sound like living beasts in ACC. It's genuinely different from any other sim I've ever driven. Not my favourite to actually drive (that's AMS2), but the sense that you're actually in a 1200kg car with a roaring engine and constantly moving suspension is just unrivalled. And that's with a cheap setup; G29 and a 1080p monitor with desktop speakers. I thought the other sims would feel more real if I had better gear, turns out they're just lacking.
@@ChrisStoneinator I can concur that it isn't actually my favorite sim to race in. But when I want GT3 it is the best.
But I'm currently committing blasphemy and loving the new Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC 😆
On the other hand, it's also why it's a bit of a shame but I'll never get into ACC. I don't like GT3s, or GT4s, I did like GT1s when those were a thing but yeah. Really respect what ACC did, shame it's on a motorsport discipline that bores me
@@ElShogoso 100% agree. I'm fortunate that GT is my favorite class of racing. But even then, ACC doesn't cover my favorite class of GT racing. I'll be curious to see how their Assetto Corsa 2 will be now that we know that will be their next project.
I personally still love to play AC but it is definitely in need of a refresh. Depending on how great it's physics and graphics are, it could be a real contender to be labeled as the "best" sim.
Ermin, your videos are awesome. Great commentary and great editing. You explain things so well. I'm floating between GT 7 and ACC on PC all the time. I think I need to step away from GT7 and just concentrate on ACC. Maybe even get rfactor. If o play GT7 I have to play online to entertain myself. But I found the other day I was on ACC on Spa and I just went lap after lap improving my time and just enjoying doing a timed laps. I was so focused and loving the racing even with no other cars. I find GT7 harder in some ways than ACC which is weird.
Don´t play rfactor 2, it´s the real exploit simulator
@@leruty oh is it? I've only ever seen SIM racers talk about it. Maybe I'll steer clear.
Should do the same kind of video in regards to wet weather physics
A couple of IRL racing drivers said all the same thing: Driving in rain is just plain wrong. In ACC your car is tail happy like a happy dog. Drivers said this is wrong, rear of the car is much more planted but it's the front end that doesn't have any grip.
@@alpha007org this is why I’d like to see the comparison in the wet between the three. I’ve not played enough of ACC and never touched iracing so it’s something I’m interested in seeing how they all interpret the wet weather. With GT7 puddles suck you off the track, you lose the front when you brake and a load of other things it does but I’m to lazy to list.
@@OPPSIJUSTKILLEDU I raced in wet weather in ACC and AMS2. I like ACC more. But what I wanted to say it that all the "Big Sims" are unrealistic in wet. Both ACC and AMS2 have "the happy dog" implementation. You are struggling to keep the rear in check. This is where simpler physics of GT7 could produce more realistic wet weather driving. I don't know. But we all drive our cars when it's raining. Rear is planted but if you go a little too fast, you are unable to steer. No front end grip even with front end drive.
Nice BGM got some NFS4 vibes hearing that old track from Dastrix. Keep up good content.
At 20 seconds in, the music from the greatest ever driving sim kicked in. What an introduction to the channel
I always enjoy your comparison content. You always seem to want to genuinely get it right no matter the title and that is refreshing in an genre where many are biased as to their favorite title. All of these titles are still falling short of real driving but they seem to be slowing getting there. Im in my mid fifties and I hope they get it right before my time expires. Lol. Thanks for the video Ermin.
I have ACC and I racing and I racing is my “go to“ when I want a more realistic race against other real drivers.
However, the majority of my driving is in ACC because it has a very realistic feedback, and I enjoy the AI racing. A lot of people complain about the public lobby racing, and all the complaints are legitimate. The skill level varies widely and there’s no real penalties for reckless careless or intentional incidents.
To put this into context, I have driven Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Ferrari IRL on closed road courses, And racing Sims are nothing close to the real car driving experience! But if I had to choose between a racing and ACC, I would probably say ACC is a bit closer to IRL than IRacing.
I do some trackday with car wich are close to race car.
I play Iracing a long but ACC give me also more realistic feedback Imo.
For the competitive race against other real drivers i suggest you to try LFM 👍
Have you guys tried gt7, if so is it worth the price difference to the ACC?
@@JoseMorales-vq5fu no, haven’t tried it - I just race in PC platform.

This is by far the best comparison videos I've watch. To this day, I cannot choose between the three since I don't have much knowledge in sim racing but eager to get into. Thank you for the video!
I wanna see how GT7 drives with different wheels in comparison to other sims, how a cheaper FFB wheel feels like compared to a more expensive one.
I can give some insight to this one. I played GT7 with a G29 when it first came out and now I have a Fanatec GT DD. Honestly, the Fanatec wheel is wasted on GT7 because the ffb in that game is extremely vague and not at all detailed. You don’t really reap the benefits of having a direct drive.
The Fanatec feels absolutely fantastic on the PC sims though, so it was still worth upgrading from the G29 in my case
@@danwmusic3447 Apparently, anecdotally at least, the Thrustmaster is the wheel to have for GT7 . I also use a G29
@@strophish I bought a G29 for GT7 and find it quite underwhelming. The last GT game I played was GT5 using an old cheapo Logitech Driving Force and even that was more satisfying. Had far more weight and substance to the feedback.

It kind of pleases me to hear GT7 is not so easy. Makes my performances a little less embarrassing lol. I don't have time, money or space for a PC sim set up but II sure would like one. AC and BeamN's mods look such fun and show there's a matured and busy community. Really wish GT would be open to mods, but I guess that's impossible on a console.. love to be proved wrong PD... or other developers.
Being hard to drive doesn't make it realistic, its depiction of that ferrari is awful lol.
Farming Simulator games all have a mod community even for console players. It is possible for consoles but maybe not with all games?
Seeing Ermin so happy makes me happy lol
GT can never be fully a real sim because they need to cater to large audience that want to play a "game" which is fair.
Hi Erm, can you do a part two to this video with David Perel? He sim races and raced a 458 GT3 in real life, so he is better placed than anyone to offer his insights, especially now that GT7 is around
the iRacing car is actually a 488 GT3
Great video!!
IMHO, for anyone who only has a PC and would like to play a reasonably realistic Sim with good "pick up and race" manner, AMS2 is not a bad choice. Yes it lacks in content compared to GT, but it has nice graphics, , good physics and ffb, quite a lot of different racing genres, host online lobby ingame easily, easy to use UI (yes I am looking at you rF2), inbuilt championship etc. It's a great package ☺️
AMS2 is getting up there with AC for me in terms of a quick race sim that you can hop into and race against AI. Still play AC more just because of all the mods giving it basically an unlimited number of track and car combos. Would definitely play AMS2 more if they came out with more modern GT3s and LMPs which is what I primarily like to drive.
love the Interstate '76 music in the background
iR vehicle dynamics are pure simulation Pr0n in slow motion. I recommend to any sim fan to use the free cam mode where the cam follows your car but lets it move freely to a degree and place it at a corner of the car down low on curb height so you can see front and rear tires/damper working and enjoy the car driving over some curbs in slow motion. I tried to do some sim comparisons that way but turns out such mentioned needed camera mode is an iR only thing. Everywhere else thew free camera is fixed to the cars body if you have the cam following the car.
In ACC if you press F7 you can move the camera to any position you want
@@tharsgaard663 Its fixed to the cars body movement and so it lets the car not move freely.
I’ve been playing GT7 nearly everyday since the psvr2 update and its great but i tried Assetto last night and its a completely different ball game. You have to hit those corners perfect with the right angle and speed or your going to lose traction immediately. Its a definite difficulty spike and can be very frustrating at times but it makes doing the perfect lap feel amazing. I’ve drove hundreds of laps of Spa on GT7 and i’m not too bad at getting round. On Assetto its a different story though. In comparison GT7 feels more like an arcade racer with small sim elements.
Well said.... 100% agree... ACC is where it's at... It's difficult in comparison but so much more rewarding and lifelike
In a nutshell: you love the game you already know. And the second of two different cars.
Great job!
Hey Mate! Is it you running Submission Audio? Didn't know you are in sim racing, love that, as well as SA pruducts 🤙
I definitely don't have as much fun in gt7 currently as i used to.. a lot of cars have really out of wack physics like the Ford gt gr3 car and even cars like the Toyota MR2 just have super weird handling.. under steer at low speed then during a high speed corner they over steer... I guess gt7 is now in that category of "modern gaming" spit title out half baked and fix later
Shouldve tried with the new Laguna Seca of Rfactor 2
Bro, that thing you said about being near middle-aged and sim driving had my dying. It's sure fun as hell though!! 😅
I find it quite funny that ACC, one of the best sims at what it does, is officially licensed by SRO, who puts every single one of its events in UA-cam for you and me to watch for the humble cost of FREE. And it's done it for a long time too, since I believe 2013.
Plus, the on-track product is very good. Lots of brands, lots of talented drivers, great production value. And they've also (for Europe at least) launched an eSports championship tie-in for real drivers to participate since last year which awards actual championship points, which lead to racing teams considering sim racing prowess of potential drivers. Stephane Ratel is truly a very underrated motorsports promotor.
Plus this year viewership has spiked since Valentino Rossi joined.
The best part about this, there is no "this is better than that", each game has its own niche and complement each other, which is great
I'd love to see a proper tuning guide from you, teach us plebs how to get the least pleby times. Been fighting to get the Bolide setup in Beam NG, with some mods to give it a V10, adjustable aero, and AWD and can't get her to settle down (She's very snappy, she'll be quick and well behaved then just snap for no reason and murder me).
For starters, that car is NOT a "she".
Fix your gear ratios
@@shen-long9082 All cars are female, and I don't see how her gear ratios have anything to do with handling. It isn't snap oversteer on throttle, just sometimes she decides to murder me for seemingly no reason even when not on either throttle or brake.
With WEC including GT3 cars from 2023, is it possible ACC will include WEC tracks and layouts? I do hope so!
love the 'interstate 76' music :)
Great video. It'd be interesting to contrast with the latest GT7 1.23 with update tire and physics. FFB seems improved too.
As someone who has only done a little bit of ACC and not played iracing so I can’t say if wind is modelled in those games. But the wind in GT7 does seem to have an effect on handling of the cars. It can benefit your straight line speed but also do the opposite it does also seem to effect car stability to.
I think wind is simulated in ACC
@@karhu07 Wind speed, and wind direction are shown in ACC.
Whenever during racing, you just need to press TAB, and look up the right corner of the screen you will see it.
iRacing also has wind
iRacing does have wind, that's why you look at the splits happening in your session and not the "best" splits ever.
Excellent vidéo 😎👍
The only thing. When speaking about "simulation" , you have to drive cockpit view. Its seem to be basic to me no ?
You should do the same but cockpit view..... could change all the Ball game imo .
Nice job 👍

First Hi Ermin. Could you see if you could do a review on the fanatec clubsport inverted pedals? I have them and they feel great but almost no one talks about these pedals
I'd love to, but unfortunately I only own the regular (non-inverted) set!
@@Ermz could you ask fanatec to send you a pair. I want to know what you think of them.
understeer on power on a rear wheel drive car tells me everything I need to know in how unrealistic GT7 is! Don't get me wrong, it has its place just like codemasters F1 games. I enjoy Codies F1 games a lot but for reasons that its just fun! I see GT7 in a similar way as Codies games.
I personally think ACC is easy to jump in and drive. However, ACC is super hard to be fast in and you are more open to mistakes and curbs/bumps will bite you hard in ACC.
It is worth noting that tuning in ACC only looks hard, but it is not as hard as it looks. A simple video guide will help a long way, because the problem is that the game itself does not teach you.
Great video! Thanks. What is the mounting bracket you use?
I think that if iRacing was to get a major overhaul with more detail it'll easily be the best sim as cars alteady feel really natural there. However I don't believe it'll actually happen and instead someone else will eventually make it. GT7's graphics are AAA, but driving is AA. They call themselves the real driving sim, but aren't that close. As you mentioned you can rotate the car through the corner in ACC and I've felt that in DiRT3 which is very arcade, but for DiRT5 Codemasters claimed that their engine is realistic and has a ton of corrections to help the driver. Game graphics got upgraded to a very realistic level and in a few years we'll have no competition on who's lighting engine is better as it has to be very similar so the competition will move towards the more technical stuff such as accurate physics. As we get more powerful tech it'll be much easier to make sure that many people can play a high quality game. It might even be BeamNG that becomes the most realistic of them all, but they seem to focus more on remastering content rather than adding the tyre physics we need like wear, flat spots and temp. Brakes have temp, but tyres don't for some reason. They have pressure and if you submerge low enough you can see the tires collapsing because the water pressure is more than one bar plus the tyre pressure, but they still have very wonky crash and deflation effects.
Iracing without an overhaul to their physics is still the number one sim.
@@Digital_504
This right here, iRacing had to improve due to AC and they did. Their SOLE problem right now are their cold tyre physics which are wacky as hell. Everything else is fine though to the T.
Gt7 does a decent job but I’m interested to see how far Turn 10 take the upcoming forza Motorsport in the sim direction, they’re claiming an 8 point tyre model, advanced suspended simulation along with air, track and tyre temperature affecting tyre grip and wear. it would be strange to do all that work and not having something that is quite realistic but obviously still works well on controller. Hopefully they have put work into wheel and pedal support too
@台女短熱褲街拍 lol, you must be joking. Gt only has raytracing in replays and looks like ass most of the time. Hell, Forza Horizon 5 on my Xbox one S looks better that GT7 on ps5.
Now I'm not saying it's not a good game. I just don't lie about dumb things on the internet. Clearly your feelings are hurt a game other than the one you play may have better features. That's some weak shit right there.
Edit: it's funny, I've seen other comments by you here and all you do is lie and crap on every other game. You are 100% a Sony Pony fanboy, hahahah.
@@dre_k0 I would agree past Forza motorsports I would classify as Simcad at best but the upcoming forza motorsport is a ground up rebuild carrying nothing over from the previous games, all info points to a far more sim direction for the game
I'll believe it when I play it. If they decide to release on Xbox One you can say goodbye to much of this stuff. Also the Forza community doesn't really want a highly realistic game.
@@nightdriver7216 we’ll find out in a week at the Xbox showcase but I’m betting it’s Next gen and pc exclusive and much closer to a sim then previous forza Motorsport hence why they are rebooting and not calling it FM8
@@BOKtober They're gonna want that game running at 4K60 with higher detail than GT7 so there's not much room for realistic physics. I know Esaki promised a ton of stuff but ultimately I think FM engine will be just ForzaTech with a few tweaks. They have an ex-Papyrus guy in the team but it all depends on the game direction. When it comes to cars I think it's gonna have close to 1,000 but many of Forza's cars are really old 3D models which don't compare with other games.
Daamm I felt the impact of that bottoming-out 12:50
The Ferrari Gr3 on gt7 does have that weird problem with the back sliding out on corners…I usually drive other cars that feel more planted.
Just slightly disappointed you used the 458 Gr.3 as a baseline for gt7 physics. Considering it's one of the most unstable Gr.3 cars in the game. I feel like the Porsche 911 Gr.3 or AMG GT3 would have given a far better example of the games physics and handling model.
Just be thankful I didn't use the R8 or Huracan!
@@Ermz LOL true that 🤣
I looks like they have overdone the weight transfer in GT7. Yeah, it is realistic that the rear gets loose when you go from the throttle. But more so in street legal cars. In racing cars this effect is much lower due to lower center of gravity and aerodynamics.
Dude he’s trying to go flat out with no traction control down hill banking to the left it’s not the games fault
@@intelligence6900facts
Thumbs up for using bullmarks music from Interstate 76. Great band although only a few tracks.
With GT7 i feel like there is more variety and gold trophies to collect in different game modes. Acc as a game feels hollow, though the driving is fun, I don’t feel like I’m working towards anything.
Hi Erm. Can you drop your FFB settings for GT7 please. I have a DD Pro also, and keen to see what settings you run. Thanks! Regards, Geoff
5 torq 10 sens is what i have on that wheel, feels noooice
You say iRacing is "much easier" to drive? From others, I would think iRacing is like "always on the edge", one mistake and you're gone. But you say it isn't so... Hmm, interesting. I primarily drive ACC, never even tried iRacing. I would like to try it, but their subscription model is so off putting to me.
Iracing is way more forgiving then Acc. But sense of speed feels better in iracing. But then again Acc got best fbb hands down.
I agree, iRacing (GT3) is a lot more forgiving and easier than ACC. E.g. I could take Eau Rouge in iRacing with the Ferrari and AMG GT3 easily flat out and with one hand (just for testing purpose lol) while in ACC there is no way you can push a car to its limit with that kind of casual mindset LOL.
But when it comes to being a competitive multiplayer Sim racing platfkrm experience, iRacing is still the best overall.
No, iRacing is only unforgiving on cold tyres, or if you have a bargain bin set up.
@@kOBR4onei have to disagree on this.. for me iracing ffb is miles ahead like daniel morad said also.. not with these words but he said it’s way better
Gran Turismo on controller is really easy to save your car from a spin or if you loose your back. But if you do try to save your car in assetto on a controller.... Just dont be too aggressive or the car will probably punish you.
In my opinion GT7 and GTS are really fun games to play, but they aren't the best sim racing games out there.
The enthusiasm is unmatched 👍🏻
GT has always been the go to sim! It has it all... It may not be as intense as ACC and i racing but it has everything you need to learn the basics... With the racing liscenses and missions... You really don't need anything else on consoles... A good Fanatec wheel and GT7 on a Ps5 does more than enough!
Honestly, GT7 feels way more realistic after update 1.13. Finally the snap oversteer is mostly gone!
na it depend on the cars there are still some cars that snap oversterr at least for me like allmost all porshe and ferrari f50 subaru 22b ext ext
Yeah, mostly gone. I was one of the few that liked it pre 1.13 update and often put it on TC1, like most sims with a little TC would be more consistent and faster. I had the throttle well balanced on the edge of traction. Now its always on TC0 apart from grid starts. Ideally it would be somewhere in between now and the previous update.
Thanks for the comparison and I absolutely love your setup and your wisdom with car sims.
Hey, nice look into these games compared. While I’ve been into racing-games since the ‘90s, and had a wheel and pedal set back then, I’m still stuck with using a gamepad these days (cause of budget constraints). So I’m not that “versed” in the more simulation-focused racers, although I would be if I didn’t have a hundred other interests (and obligations). - But anyway, I tried playing some of these, particularly Assetto I think it was, with a gamepad, but it was so unwieldy that I couldn’t make one corner properly, even with a lot of assists turned on. It felt like I didn’t know what a car was, that’s how bad it controlled.
So I’ve been stuck with the more “simcade” type games for years. I’ve just purchased a pack of these more “realistic” ones for a steal, so I’m set there. Now I need to try and get something like a Thrustmaster TMX 300 or whatever it’s called. 😆 And if GT7 actually comes to PC, I might even play that one.
If anything, it’s probably the best one to “start out with”, as someone who is more used to the Codemasters type racers (also before GRID and DiRT, as far back as TOCA). Especially since supposedly the Assetto games are very technical, which are actually the ones I’m most interested in. While I don’t mind diving in the deep end, it’s probably not the best idea. - I don’t know. Suggestions for with which games to start and follow up with (also which mid-range/budget wheels and pedals) are welcome though.
And note that I’m the type who, as far back as the original Need For Speed games, insists on the “cockpit view” when using a wheel. Nonadat magical chase-cam nonsense. 😆 Yea, I would be an absolute snob…
A pretty spot on comparison and summary. GT7 is more towards Forza than iRacing/ACC, perhaps its somewhere in the middle there somewhere. I find it more approachable than the hardcore racing sims, but a bit more serious than Forza. Depending on what you are chasing, theres a sim out there for most folks.
Yeah man i feel the same
I dont agree
I place gt7 at top one by far with assisteces off and good steering wheel
1 - GT7
2 - GT Sport
3 - Gt6
4 - AC
5 - Iracing
6 - Gt5
7 - Forza
I got to drive a Porsche cayman gt4 race car once (group 4 in gt7) and I was amazed at how confidently I could drive it compared to my experience in gran turismo. There's this weird thing on gran turismo on the throttle where I have the hardest time gradually adding gas no matter how hard I try, it's like it goes from 0-80% throttle way too fast for me and kicks the rear out on me. Didn't experience anything like that actually driving the car. Still love gran turismo
Real life gt4 has tc that works
Love the Interstate '76 music.
I’ve noticed if you use ballast it helps with balancing the 458 in gt7
Thanks for doing this comparison. I’m a long time Gran Turismo player. And dabble in ACC (PS5 & PC) and iRacing. Overall I’m disappointed in GT7. The physics were terrible pre 1.13 and although now improved, they still don’t seem quite right. Also the level of force feedback and surface detail in GT7 is really poor imo (CSL elite wheelbase). Jump on to Acc or iRacing, the detail is much much better. You feel like you are driving a real race car. There’s so much PD need to fix and improve. But will they? I think people were expecting more of a sim, when what they’ve received is a rehash of GTS with broken lobbies. So, yep, I’m doing more iRacing at the moment. 😁
Hey
You play acc on ps5?
They got the update 1.8?
Do you know that ?
How is ACC FFB on the PS5 compared to the PC version? Is the FFB really that much better on the PC version?
ACC is my favorite but I almost never play it because playing online seems like such a hassle. GT7 is just so easy to plop down and have fun.
If you have the time, join a league. That's when ACC really gets good.
Agreed
This last weekend i raced on ACC with G27 racing ith a GT4 on oton park....man i I feel inside the track amazing.
I have a GTX960 and was super smooth.
By de facto, or whatever, a great comparison. Fantastic car and track choice, in my opinion.
Nice video! Growing up on GT, it was interesting to learn how to adjust to Project Cars 2 which was my next racing game after GT sport just didn’t hit it like Gt6 did for me. I’ve played Project Cars 3 for a while now and it’s easier to race some of the cars buts it’s annoying to drive a GT1 car around a track and be drifting the corners sometimes. PC2 makes the cars stick to the track. No drifting. But it’s harder to race the cars well cause I use a controller. Racing games these days are either too arcade( The Crew 2) or expect you to have a $400 steering wheel and pedals ( Project Cars 2). Gran Turismo always had the perfect balance. I go back to GT6 on PS3 and man the cars feel great!
Project cars definitely isnt the best
I struggled playing ACC, it is a game you need to constantly be on top of. I played GT7 for a couple of months. When I came back to ACC, I was a lot faster for some reason. I'm not sure why, but I like it!
Do you think that the GT7 is better than ACC? Or worth the price difference?
@@JoseMorales-vq5fu ACC is a much better game in my opinion. It is more of a simulation. It just takes time to get used to.
I spotted you changing that title Ermin!!!
Damn tho I didn't expect gt7 physics to be as good as og asseto. Have to commend them for that.
Great video! In GT7 if you would run lsd settings on

The Ferrari is sooo much better. The rest of the tune looks good
I prefer gt7 however to any true sim title, i just love the experince it offer
Ermin hamSandwich should drive a HamSandwich
I’m just here for the free food.
I tried the same car/track combo with gt7 and AC and there is a night and day difference in terms of ffb and physics. I use a humble g29, in gt7 you miss plenty of details (curbs, bumps, track surface, braking) that you get with other simulators. The additional problem is that it's not consistent, it happens that sometimes you feel the curbs and then you change track and you feel nothing at all, even if you drive on curbs for several meters. Very strange. I hope they will improve it and introduce more options to adjust the ffb like in other games.
Gt7 is my go to when I want real sim racing. How it looks is just as important as how it drives. Graphics matter. Who cares if nba 2k16 is the best 2k. You will never play it over the newest 2k game. The car might drive slightly better in one area, but that just comes down knowing how to tune your car. After all both games are putting down the same times on the track so are they really driving that much different?
You also have a bad sampling size. It's the real driving simulator because I can also tune and whip a hellcat srt around laguna with an installed roll cage before even doing an engine swap to it. Like putting a porshe engine into a 68 vw Beatle with a stage 4 weight reduction removing the rear seats insert roll cage
Graphics noob
I've found in GTSport and GT7 that driving midships, and especially gt3 midships, you kinda have to drive with a lead foot. My fastest and most clean laps and turns have all been taken while rarely fully pulling off throttle to prevent that weird snap oversteer, you can tune it out marginally with the LSD preload and acceleration engagement values but tbh downshifting while keeping 10 or 15 percent throttle applied always keeps it steady for me
Because of engine torque braking. Strong engine torque causes disturbing the car when fully lift of the gas pedal. So with your technique, you're actually cancelling the engine braking out.
@@Mastermindthreethousand this actually helps me out a lot, will definitely help me setup and adjust my differentials in the future to accomodate for the engine brake snap, because my driving technique only works on more open tracks, anything more curvy than Spa I can't drive the same way
I think it's worth remembering that GT7 is rather limited by being cross-generation with the PS4. Its jaguar CPU is really weak so there isn't much headroom for fancy physics, that's probably a major limiting factor here.
Though the PS5 has a hugely more capable CPU, sadly we will need to wait for GT8 when the PS4 isn't supported for it to be taken advantage of with a fancy new physics engine... Though I guess there's a small chance of late life "PS5 lobby only" updates or when VR lands that could allow improved physics.
I feel when PS5 drops with even more powerful raytracing we will see GT8 and it will be exclusive to PS5 using all that extra CPU horsepower and new driving physics model plus all updated lightning engine to ise that extra GPU power. Feels like Sony just pushed them to churn out GT7 to drive PS5 sales.
People seem to forget that it was GranTurismo that created GT Academy and turned virtual racers into real racing drivers. I think that defines GT as a sim.
Yes, by running them on rFactor Pro before they got into the actual race cars.

RIP that argument, I didn't even know that. Now their basic racing skills would transfer over being at the speed they are at and their understanding of racing, but no way would GT have prepared them for racing IRL alone.
