Indeed. When the expansions around the lake end (with the forth land) mountains will completely surround it. In one side, the Pride Rock, in the middle Arendelle and the North Mountain and on the other.... is still to be seen, but the floating mountains is a safe bet, I'd say

It’s such a shame that they canned Galaxy’s Edge, that land could have been something completely different and not a direct clone of Florida or California. The lion king sounds like a IP but was thinking of it being more of an Animal Kingdom style of place.
This sounds amazing! I think there will also need to be some adjustment at Frontierland with the rhythm of the pridelands show although that area of frontierland in general has a lot of unused space too... I assume the star wars land originally planned will be added to some of discoveryland instead
Years ago I remember someone on forum so where had the idea of a lion king ride using the system like Indiana Jones uses. That's always stuck with me and I would love to see something like that
I said on the DSNY Newscast video that I think it's going to be the same ride system as the Pirates ride in Shanghai. You mentioned R&D sharing... well, the ride system R&D has already happened so now they're going to "get their money back" by putting one of them into every resort. Lion King in Paris. Lion King in Hong Kong. Lion King or Moana in Orlando (probably Moana as Animal Kingdom is getting the Tropical Americas land, and they need to put Moana in somewhere). And Avatar in Anaheim. If there's any shared R&D to be shared on the Animatronics, I'd look to Tiana's Bayou Adventure. While many of those animals are going to be recycled from Splash Mountain, there are definitely some new characters with Lion King body shapes. There's an otter, a shape that could easily turn into Timon (his name is even Timoléon!). There are bobcats - young lions. There are apparently 14 new Animatronics that aren't coming from Splash Mountain, which leaves a lot of body shapes that aren't Tiana, Louis, Mama Odie or that other human woman (I haven't seen it in a while). This is honestly the only way I can see a Lion King ride getting a lot of Animatronics. The park got its first one just a few years ago!
That’s some great points there. Using the Shanghai system would make total sense as it would offer an exciting new type of ride while not having a thrill factor. Indeed what I meant with shared R&D was the development of the animatronics and perhaps even scenes/ effects. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is shaping up to be amazing, especially with those animatronics, if TLK is like that, it’ll blow people away!
Would love too see this! The pride rock would make a amazing landmark view from the lake together with the frozen palace. I hope in the future they will add a Avatar Pandora land!!
I can’t help but feel the studios need a new roller coaster. This for me doesn’t cut it. An Expedition Everest based on pride rock and the battle of Scar would make it much more complete imo
To be quite honest as a Star Wars fan I was very disappointed when it became apparent that they weren't going through with the proposed land for it... especially since that would also be a great opportunity to get rid of the Hyper Space Mountain overlay (which I'm still hopeful for nonetheless). I couldn't for the life of me understand why on earth they'd choose such an old IP, beloved as it may be - the only thing I could see was that they might incorporate a little Animal Kingdom feel into DLP? This confuses me. Why not build Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge where it was originally planned and then build The Lion King on the opposite end of the lake where there's plenty of space for another land or two.
Galaxy’s Edge was canned after the underwhelming performance of the lands in the US. This land would be much smaller and only have one of the rides. The IP, however, should be used in a different land, with a different attraction, in Disneyland Park!
Really a bad idea a land on the Lion King for me... Avatar is a much more promising brand, and which currently has no environment at Disneyland Paris to accommodate characters and goodies. Unlike the Lion King characters who go very well with Adventureland. In addition, just behind is Marvel, so there would be logic in remaining with a brand of cinema origin. Finally, I find that there are already enough water-based attractions, even more when Frozen arrives. Honestly I hope these are just rumors...
This is a valid point. They would indeed be two water rides, which could be strange but if we look at the whole park it makes sense. WDS doesn’t have any water ride but it already has coasters, drop towers, flat rides (a lot), trams and trackless rides!
If they will do Lion King land, then remove Hakuna Matata restaurant to there, and replace it with Magic Carpet flight in Adventure land, don’t waste a unique ride 😕
This remains a big mistake. It doesn't matter how much money Disney trows at this project, at the end, an Avatar land would be better. Not only made the Avatar franchise more money, it also more of a future and the story for any ride are easy to tell. (no need to stretch every single scene from a movie that soon is 30 years old)
As excited for this ride as I am I wish it wasn’t going to be a flume ride because my dad gets very anxious about heights so I wouldn’t be able to go on it with him
I don't get the idea of creating a ride based on the exact scenes of the movie. Lion King Cub born Lion King killed by brother Cub abandoned, evil uncle takes over Cub turns into grown Lion Kills his uncle to be king The end. Hardly original idea.
If done right, a “book report” attraction can be so much better than an original storyline. Look at Tokyo’s soon to open Frozen Journey and Frozen Ever After. It definitely comes down to the quality of the ride rather than the type of story. If it were up to you, how would you make this ride?
@@themainstreetnews The different Frozen attractions are the perfect example. The Tokyo version looks better in every way, except one ... the storyline. Completely redundant. Although FEA in HK and Paris may look less spectacular (which could easily be fixed with a more impressive production design), the storyline here is a lot more appealing ... slick, smooth, to-the-point AND different from the movie I'm pretty sure Disney has enough talented people who can come up with a less predictable and more original story for the ride. Just look at Ratatouille!
That's a very fair point. I do think some storylines and movies are so good that a ride retelling that story is better than most things they could possibly come up with, and TLK is certainly one of those. I must press on one thing, which is that the storyline is far from being confirmed. With Rafiki being the narrator there could very well be more to it.
I can't believe that my fake news about a Lion King land ended up so huge. People are so gullible. When I launched the rumour on social media I wouldn't have believed that people would be making videos about it 😂😂😂

In addition, just behind is Marvel, so there would be logic in remaining with a brand of cinema origin.
Finally, I find that there are already enough water-based attractions, even more when Frozen arrives.
Honestly I hope these are just rumors...
No stampede
Sounds good, but I think it would be strange if two flume rides stood next to each other here, since Frozen is already something like that.
This is a valid point. They would indeed be two water rides, which could be strange but if we look at the whole park it makes sense. WDS doesn’t have any water ride but it already has coasters, drop towers, flat rides (a lot), trams and trackless rides!
Do not forget Space Mountain and TRON which are extremely closed at MK...
If they will do Lion King land, then remove Hakuna Matata restaurant to there, and replace it with Magic Carpet flight in Adventure land, don’t waste a unique ride 😕
This will be amazing BUT in adventure land not in Sutio/adventur world
they should have built Eurodisney in Germany
This remains a big mistake. It doesn't matter how much money Disney trows at this project, at the end, an Avatar land would be better.
Not only made the Avatar franchise more money, it also more of a future and the story for any ride are easy to tell.
(no need to stretch every single scene from a movie that soon is 30 years old)
I’d love to see a new Adventureland for Hong Kong Disneyland with new attractions like a pirate-themed flume ride, a Lion King dark ride, etc.!
It look amazing, if becomes true!!
thank you
Fingers crossed! Thanks for watching!
*Rumoured
I mean, it can be right or wrong depending on your perspective.
Yay
Still bummed they canned Star Wars 😢
But then they should add Pandora to the studio park.
As excited for this ride as I am I wish it wasn’t going to be a flume ride because my dad gets very anxious about heights so I wouldn’t be able to go on it with him
Who is arguing that the Lion King isn't a big enough ip for a land?
A lot of people actually. Throughout this year, many people brought that up in comments and conversations
@@themainstreetnews why? It's the Lion King. You can't get a bigger Disney ip.
I don't get the idea of creating a ride based on the exact scenes of the movie.
Lion King Cub born
Lion King killed by brother
Cub abandoned, evil uncle takes over
Cub turns into grown Lion
Kills his uncle to be king
The end.
Hardly original idea.
I really hope they chose a different storyline, and cancel the 'book report' angle. It's lazy, redundant and pointless.
Although FEA in HK and Paris may look less spectacular (which could easily be fixed with a more impressive production design), the storyline here is a lot more appealing ... slick, smooth, to-the-point AND different from the movie
I'm pretty sure Disney has enough talented people who can come up with a less predictable and more original story for the ride. Just look at Ratatouille!
That's a very fair point. I do think some storylines and movies are so good that a ride retelling that story is better than most things they could possibly come up with, and TLK is certainly one of those. I must press on one thing, which is that the storyline is far from being confirmed. With Rafiki being the narrator there could very well be more to it.
you didn't…really…have to list all the songs fslkdjflsdkfjsld i think anyone watching this knows them.
That does prove a point I talk about further on 😅
😀😀😀
Hope this happens!!!!
First bruh
I can't believe that my fake news about a Lion King land ended up so huge. People are so gullible. When I launched the rumour on social media I wouldn't have believed that people would be making videos about it 😂😂😂
