I just did this to my '07 C6. Same exact problem and location. Thanks! Been dealing with this problem for years. The dealer told me it was the control module and charged me $200 for the TS, and wouldn't fix it. You saved me.
A big thanks to you sir. I had the same symptoms and checked out your video. Having 25 years of technician experience I went straight to this. Funny part... Seeing the info I followed your instruction. Got it put all back together after not finding the wire in question damaged. Well, had left headlight and no right side. I was like WTF! Well checked my workbench and found the missing fuse, installed and both were working. Yay! Right? No! Started the car...Tried to start and it wouldn't start. After about an hour of panic I wondered if the problem could have been the relay, Yes, That relay was now in the ignition position. OOPS! Didn't check relays at all first. Swapped out the wiper run relay as it was the same and made it home from the shop at 1 AM. But had to let your viewers remember to check the low beam relay before disassembling all that. Again LOL on me and thank you for your content!
Thanks for this! I had to limp mine home one evening this week but today the low beams we working. Nice job on the video. I'd read a written description but it sounded so much worse than your video showed it to be. I'm going to try it first chance.
I got a 2011 gs . Since I got the car the high beams haven't worked. I got B2580 code. Installed morimoto checked fuses everything is good. Looks like imma be pulling fuse box apart this weekend! Everything works but highbeams dont come on
Very helpful video, man. Thank you very much. Im having this issue in my Z06. Im gonna have to try this now, after replacing fuses and relay low beams turn off after engine compartment gets hot, when it cools down they turn on. Have you had any issues ever since? Thanks. Adan
I am not completely certain but I think this issue is covered by a recall. I believe the dealer ran a separate insulated jumper wire outside the fuse/relay box without the added complications of having to separate the upper and lower portions of it. It was a long time ago…
Father-in-law had it laying around in his shop. But I think garage door opener wire is supposed to be the right size. I tried several till I found the one that fit snug in groves. Good luck. Let me know if it worked for you. Examine the old wire carefully, it almost looked like the wire was fine, but close inspection revealed the break.
Pull harder. It is just friction. The bolts have a little wide section that has to get past. But once it is loose and spinning, it is just a matter of tugging hard and it will slip out.
5:40 shows where I had to drill out the beveled end of the bolts. I used, I think, about a 1/2 inch drill bit or so and only drilled down a little ways and it allows them to pop out. I am sure you're done with this project since I'm 4 months out from answering your question. Hope you got and hope this helps someone.
Now that I reviewed the situation, I think the bolts you're referring to just pull straight up after the threads are all disengaged. I seem to remember a bit of resistance but a good tug and they came right out.

This is a recall fix at the dealer
So I can just take it to a Chevy dealer and have it fixed?
