I going to SANTORINI in a few weeks and I'll use your suggestions as a guide. Already requested a table at The Athenian House--- much appreciated! Great job!
Hi Dave, locked and loaded ready for kamari in Aug. Plan on early morning sight seeing then a mom and pop taverns for kamari evenings any recommendations? Already booked me taxi mas and dimitris kamari on recommendation x
Ammoudi fish tavern is not the best choice at ammoudi bay, Sunset by Paraskevas it’s now the oldes and the most well known place there especially for the lobster pasta
I would warn everybody to go to Santorini. While technically still a Greek Island, it’s overrun by instagrammers, and most restaurants are really bad. And the prices ridiculous. They should fly a huge pirate flag on top of the mountain by the airport. Stay away
Dude, please take a moment to consider your cinematography goals before you start shooting. If all you want to do is show us how crowded a restaurant is, by all means, never stop moving the camera for 10 minutes. Pan left. Pan right. Pan left and right. But you're making your viewers sea sick. Instead, find a balanced frame where viewers can see the people, sure. And your cutaways of food are great too. But then slowly pan over the cliff and then STOP. MOVING. THE. CAMERA. When you find that postcard perfect shot, it will probably be 75% blue and 25% diners. Resist the urge to constantly move. Let people soak in the view of the caldera. And let the camera slow down and then hold on the cliff, water, ships, sun. Do you remember the fist time you were in Santorini and you just stared out over the cliff for minutes at a time? Of course you do. Did you look out over the cliff for 2 seconds and then look away? No. You were mesmerized. We all were. Just remember that "ON MY GOD...." moment you had, and let your viewers feel it too. Or just fly me to Santorini and I'll do it for you. :)
Thanks Carol. We try our best but no doubt get some wrong. Partly, I'm just happy to know we have readers that listen closely enough to pick up on our mistakes! All the best.

Thanks for the great recommendations! Does Cava Alta serve decent vegetarian options? And are reservations needed for lunch?
Yes, some great veg dishes (apps, salads, pastas). For lunch you should be fine without a reservation most of the time.
@@SantoriniDaveHQ Awesome, thank you!

So many great places to eat. Thanks for the feedback.
Seems that Santorini Dave has never been to Perissa or Kamari.
Haha. What am I missing? So many great places to eat on the island, always looking for new stuff. Thanks!
@@SantoriniDaveHQ Pince in Kamari and Almeira were both voted best restaurants on the island over the years.

Hey, Dave, please learn how to pronounce the Greek restaurant names.
