Probably The BEST Restaurant in Italy - Piazza Duomo (Enrico Crippa)
Вставка

- The founder and head chef is Enrico Crippa.
He opens Piazza Duomo in 2005, and within one year, he has the first Michelin star.
He gets the second in 2009 followed by the third in 2011.
Piazza Duomo is also a regular on the world’s 50 Best Restaurant list.
At the time of shooting this video, they stood at number 19.
In 3 hours, Chef Crippa and Piazza Duomo raised the bar and put on a show, and in my opinion, this is probably the best restaurant in Italy.

We would like to clarify the price information about the Coravin system what you can see in the video. We calculated for a complete setup for a restaurant, which includes several gadgets bor both wines and champagnes. A single Coravin system ranges from €129 to €599 (which is their absolute best).
Check out their page for more information: www.coravin.com (Thank you for everyone who pointed out the misunderstanding!)
Winemaker here. Former somm too. I just find the Coravin ineffective for keeping wines. Sure, the wine under coravin argon may not be ‘oxidised’ per-se; however wine left under coravin for over x amount of days still lends a wine with dullness
@@mick0855what's the alternative? Vacu vin seals?
As a Bangladeshi, I am very delighted to see them respecting our culture.
We eat our food with our hands because it is said to create a connection between the food and our soul which makes the food tastes a lot better and so that we handle the food with care.
I heard the same saying in Indian and Pakistani cuisine when they cook it using their hands as utensiles!
Everyone was eating food with their own hands before the invention of the fork. It's not connection, it's lacking a better tool than your fingers.
Alexander, those were some insane wines I'm so jealous. This was my favorite video of yours yet.
@@AlexandruHerman Every food doesn't require a fork/spoon/knife and these utensils doesn't make consumption of all types of food easier. Also you can not gauge the temperature or texture of the food with utensils before putting it in your mouth.
We didn't have any food in our culture requiring any utensils. Soup or noodles were introduced to us after the development of spice trade and the takeover of the Indian sub-continent by the British. Along with those food, utensils also came into play. But when having our traditional or day to day life dishes we still prefer to eat with our hands.
Rice is the main food of our culture and it is just easier for us to mix everything with the rice with our hands. :)
when it comes to food italians take it seriously ;)
This Channel is what Restaurant reviews should be and I always look forward to them - thank you.
yep, i stumbled upon this channel a month or two ago and its utterly fascinating. the history of the places and chefs at the start of each episode are a superb touch. i also like that if these places are not up to par then Alexander has no problem in letting us know. if only every review(er) was this unbiased and unfiltered.
ReviewBrah is better.
@dingledangle265 this is such a stupid comment. I realise it's just a troll, but, I'll bite as it adds engagement for the UA-cam algorithm. They don't review the same content for a start. I enjoy Reviewbrah too, but, he's in the right place on UA-cam. I genuinely think Alexander's content could transition well to TV. There is that much of a gulf in production. It wouldn't be hard to keep going but it would start to look like I don't enjoy Reviewbrah.
My god, Alex, how do you find time to enjoy the food? Your direction and editing skills and presentation are first class, worthy of 3 stars . Thank you! .
You really think he directed and edited the videos? Did you hit your head too hard when you were baby ?
Most likely a professional filming and editing team behind.
It's obvious he's doing it so he can take all these trips to restaurants all over the world and class it all as a business expense, its very smart.
@@johnlocke6563 man you ruined this channel comment section with your toxicity.
@@Iavnp oh nooo
What a quick rise to the top! In the brief time you’ve been doing this, you’re already the best restaurant reviewer I’ve seen!
Not to mention he fills up the category that almost nobody ever did before:
A Dedicated 3* Michelin Restaurant food reviewer/critiques
You know many Food Reviewer on UA-cam who can afford 2000 euros bills?
Must concur. I never miss an episode.
I can't wait to be here when he hits 1 million subs and I can say I was here from the start
The wait is over 👏🏻🙏🏻🤌🏻
Alexander: We went with the tasting menu for 290 euros, and the wine pairing for 300 euros.
Me: Oh hey thats not too b-
Alexander: Our total came to 2,300 euros
lmao facts
He spends more on krug than the menu and winepairing
I admit I gasped at the bill too, considering it was for 2 people.
He said he was gonna freestyle it and not go for the wine pairing. I’ve noticed in other videos he often inflates the bill quite substantially with wines and champagnes.
Funnily enough that Krug is roughly the same price I can find it in a store here. @@arthurnor6
This place is amaaaaazing. You know the resto is damn serious if the staff are in bespokes.
Thank you Alex for sharing with us your journey
Food looks incredible, thank you for sharing chef!
i really enjoy your way of talking and delivery, you bring a sincere and heartfelt energy that is sorely missing from this platform
How delightful! I had a smile on my face watching this one. So light and colorful.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences with us. Your videos are sophisticated, yet very accessible and not pretentious.
I love this channel. I respect your vision and the fact that you are willing you share your experiences in such an elegant way, thanks you. ❤
Every video is more interesting and better than the last, I just keep looking forward to the next. Keep it up and stay amazing!
Im loving this channel , you explain the Concept and your Experiences really well, it brightens up my day whenever you upload this Videos. Great Work as always and Keep it up!
I loved the new format of the videos showing the amount of the bill spent at the restaurant. Sometimes we miss opportunities to visit beautiful places that would probably come out of the budget. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina
I was visiting Alba for my holidays last year and I passed by this restaurant. Unfortunately I couldn't eat there because I can't afford it but for some reason it stayed in my head. Thanks for giving me a look inside, looks absolutely fenomenal! :)
I love this channel. The editing, commentary, all of it. Every video is so well done
I LOVE the history and geography lessons and then the stories about the chefs. It gives the video such a nice depth!
I just recently discovered your videos but i got hooked straight away😅 keep up the great work.
Your videos are by far the best on UA-cam when it comes to high end dining. Well well done Alexander, keep the great work up! Would love to share a meal with you one day 😊
always a pleasure to see you upload.
Wow. Loved this. I loved how he did use Art to influence his food choices. In any way. That one dessert that looked like a piece of rectangular ceramic Art was amazing. So much time and effort into all of this. Loved too how the environment looked. Like you said, even to how the color of the room matched their ties/pocket squares. Again, an eye for detail. Like your eyes! Great video as always. Thank you!
Another homerun. You are doing world class videos, sir. Definitely the highlight of my week in videos
Great job, clear detailed showing of the plates, great explination , one of your bests, thank you
Beautiful video as always!
I am in awe, WOW! Ive never seen anything like this, ever. What an incredible expression of art, and it truly is an art. The tapas style, with all those plates, was just out of this world beautiful. And then i was totally taken off guard by those incredible salads that mimicked bouquets of flowers, so creative.
I am putting this on my to do list, i just have to experience this for myself. But without you and your brilliant series here on YT, i would never have known about it. so thank you! :)
I live 20 minutes away from Alba, so I'm especially glad that you enjoyed Piazza Duomo and your time in Piemonte :)
Love your channel btw, you really deserve all the best!!
This is probably the best review ever! Just outstanding in every detail. This is food and presentation on a different level to anything else in the world. Amazing. Thank you se much. Best wishes.
What a spectacular journey indeed. The presentations are so joyful and artistic. Thank you for the amazing videos!
Amazing review. Thank you.
Wonderful pictures and great presentation.
Beautiful video, as always!
Thank You for this treat! The tie is perfect...
I started watching on your second or third video and ive only been enjoying them more with each that comes out. Keep up the good work :)
insane… this has to be my favorite youtube channel. Working in haute cuisine it’s great to see such a costumer with such a true appreciation for out work yet with 0 pretentiousness, very rare
Also, my suggestion for a video would be Mugaritz in Spain!!
please we need more videos. your channel is amazing...💯
This man has nailed his videos on the head from minute 1 from video 1
I've never seen anything like that meal either! Wow! That was so spectacular! How wonderful to be able to sample the delicious wines in that wonderful restaurant. It would be hard to get even better than that, but it looks like the chef is trying to do that. He's actually turning the food into beautiful artistic masterpieces as well! Oh my goodness. I love this channel.
This guy not only give an amazing review on the food but also talk about the front of house and establishment itself .. as well as the wines and give you an insight of where they come from! If I have to review Alex , 10/10
This channel is truly a hidden gem. Nice to be here while you're still under 100k subs.
I dined here last April and did the Barolo menu. It was exceptional. The staff were so friendly and welcoming!
I like your Videos so much. Very worthy production. Impressive.
Love your reviews.
I just missed a little of the usual energy you have during the intro sequence. I actually find your current intro where you describe your channel in 2 sentences quite charming for newcomers and fans alike. And it gives a good pacing from the start too.
Best
I adore your brutal honesty 'going up gives me the feeling I'm going to someone's flat' and then you back it up with footage.
Your videos are just incredible 😍 👏🏽 🙌🏽 beautifully well done 🤌🏼
Super underrated channel that deserves to blow up.
Outstanding, you keep getting better Alexander! You are one of the most complete, immersive and engaging content creators on UA-cam! ❤
Great videos & graphics! What a menu too.
Best new channel for so long
Love how you pointed out how the staff move almost like pantomimes/dancers. Touches like that can elevate a place that's already perfect.
Always a highlight when a new video pops up
Everything on the plates are just pieces of symphonic art. What a celebration of art!
Again, love your review !! And love the wines that you drank !!!
By far Master Class in dining evaluation, bravo 👏
I award this channel 3 UA-cam stars for its quality and entertainment.
This is a great review and I love the way you always show appreciation to the people who attend to you. Also - I never imagined a GLASS of wine costing what I see on your bill at the end. But when I find something nice at the supermarket next time, I'll try to savour it that little bit more.
I was shocked as well but it's not uncommon for him to mention wines that are a couple thousand a bottle and only 3 glasses per bottle it kind of makes sense
My God… thanks for yet another wonderful presentation. Very informative and although it is early in the morning while watching this I feel like a need a glass of Mouton myself. Cheers !
amazing. Next time im in Alba i'll check it out! thank you for the great video quality and God bless you my friend
As a real foodie I really enjoy your reviews of the restaurants. Keep up the good work!
Showcasing the chef, the restaurant and their ethos. Really really good.
great comparison at the end of the video . thanks a lot . the camera is improved , lots of good frame .
This is visually and conceptually stunning.. I will have to visit
awesome video, legendary restaurant
another great post - descriptive, without any unnecessary padding.
Fantastic channel!
As always your videos are fascinating, entertaining, charming just like you. Please do not stop this journey. You were born to do this. Bravo !
Sheesh that was a smooth way to ask people, too subscribe. Love it❤
Amazing! Look forward to seeing your review of El Celler de can Roca :)
THE best looking plates i ve seen on that channel !
This Video is why I'm Subscribed, Liked, and Bell Rung !
Love your videos
Definitely going to hit 1 million subs before the year is over.
Hi Alexander, great story of the passion and talent of the team here. I really enjoyed the details especially the wine, and the behind the scenes. I've noticed on your youtube clips that you always dress with a lot of style. would you consider adding a footnote to your restaurant visits giving reference to your sartorial sources. Thanks
The location got me scared at first 😮
But the food... no words... really... ❤
Amazing video btw 👏🏻
Liked subscribed... 😊
Wow, Alex, when I subscribed you had about 46k followers. You'll be at 100k in no time. Just wanna give you a premature congrats!
Great videos. I enjoy watching thoroughly. But Alex, you should explore Asia and expand your horizons for us.
Superbly curated
What an amazing dining experience
Thank you so much for these videos, they are fantastic, maybe you should do a competition, the winner gets to eat with you at your chosen restaurant.
This is so much fun too wacht thank you :)
Personal Opinion: This is one of the most underrated UA-cam channels. Always great videos and narration. Keep going on doing more videos!
I don't think you can call it underrated, he has only been doing this for 3 months and already has100k subscribers, and only after 5 days up his latest video already has 150k views.
Great to see my Country's name in the menu ❤ 🇧🇩
The Goat is back
Exhausted just watching this meal. Very nice .
As always a great video and explanations, I can see a Netflix series in the near future Alex. I think if I had to eat all that salad I would turn into a rabbit!
I wish I could accompany you on one such venture ... this restaurant is awesome .
What beautiful dishes! I am desperate to try that Andy Warhol inspired dish. Such a contrast between what my eye perceived the texture to be and what was actually revealed by the fork.
I am already waiting for an interview with you and with someone else from… you know from where 😅 keep making the videos Alex ❤
Excelent video as always! How does it compare, to you, with the Osteria Francescana?
This is a great channel....
This guy is gonna hit million subs in notime!
ALEXANDER THE GREAT. MOAR MOAR MOAR!
I visited Piazza Duomo in 2016 and it was one of the best meals in my life. Well worth the three stars. The one thing I would say is the service is so professional that it becomes a tad static and lacks a personal touch, which is something I usually like. The barolo menu is incredible, obviously when paired with the local wines.
This channel is growing quite impressively! Well done!
Great video i suggest you to try villa crespi!!!
That green house suspended above the roofs of the historic center is utterly magical.
Those courses with many small dishes sure look like they're an Italian take on Kaiseki Ryori. Looks like a lot of fun to discover everything.
Nice description of experience 😁
I truly hope I can one day save up and afford this extravagant restaurant experience!
